Simon POV.
“AJ, let’s leave, please,” Sophia says on the verge of tears, she didn’t look too happy about my condition, she looked at AJ hoping he’d help her get away from me.
“We’ll get your word to our lord, and get back to you,” AJ says getting up and holding a crying Sophia’s hand, I glared at them why is she allowing him to hold her hand, why are they acting like two lovers, I wanted to get back at them, but I couldn’t. This is the slow game here, and I freaking hate the slow game, I’m one to dive head first and then think of consequences later.
“Why did you do that?” Lucas asks me, we didn’t even get the chance to eat.
“Waiter,” I raise my hand up wanting to get her attention, I’m ready to order food right now.
“Boss, I’m talking to you,” Lucas says sounding disappointed.
“Ready to order?” The waiter asks standing next to our table.
“Yes, I was told this meal is paid for,” I ask the waiter, and he simply nods, the boss is the one who’s going to pay.
“We’ll take steaks, medium rare, with all the adding, we’ll also take two glasses of your finest wine, we’ll take whatever deserts you would recommend, and what else are you in the mood for Lucas?” I ask him with a smile on my face, since the boss is paying we should take advantage of this.
“Yes, french fries,” Lucas says and the waiter’s eyes blew out of his face which was hilarious this is a high-end dining restaurant, we don’t expect them to have fries.
“We’ll take that,” I say with a chuckle.
“We don’t…” the waiter starts but I stopped him, raising a hand up.
“I’m sure you’ll make an exception for us, tell the chef Elijah sent us,” I say with a smile if he picked this place then he knows that they know him and they’ll get us whatever we want.
“Of course,” the waiter says leaving us alone, Lucas didn’t look very happy about what happened and neither was I.
“Why did you do that?” Lucas asks me.
“Ordered food? I’m not going to cook and am not in the mood for another pasta night with you,” I say with a shrug making him laugh.
“The food is paid for anyway,” Lucas says agreeing with me, and I just laugh waiting for the food to get over here, they got us our drinks first, I don’t enjoy wine, but it’s expensive and I should like it, but I don’t.
“Cheers,” I say trying to swallow down the wine but I don’t really enjoy it.
“Why did you say that to Sophia, why do you want her back?” Lucas asks me raising a brow at me, he doesn’t really get it, and neither do I.
“I want her back, we’ll do the business get Elijah off my back, and then I’m going to kill her,” I say with a smile, she might be coming back to my life, but I still want her dead.
“You don’t know what she’s been through, you might want to forgive her,” Lucas offers.
“Forgiveness is something Jesus does, do I look like Jesus?” I ask him raising a brow at him.
“Call me a believer,” Lucas says with a laugh, our food came in and the waiter shot us killer glares as he placed the french fries in front of Lucas, followed by our food.
“Thanks,” I say with a smile diving in, at least I got a good meal out of this.
We finished our food, drank more wine and then we were ready to get out of the restaurant, the bill was already paid for and we didn’t have to pay anything, we got out and I was ready to get in my car, but another car stopped in front of me, a black car with tinted windows, my kind of cars. The window rolled down and a guy smiled at me, he had blond hair and coloured eyes, he looked scary, and he looked like every vampire I know, dead on the inside, his eyes said it all, and when he smiled, I saw his fangs, and I knew he’s not a young vampire.
“Elijah, glad to meet you finally,” I say, knowing that it’s him, must be him.
“Simon, get in,” Elijah says opening his door for me, and moving over, I got in the car with him telling Lucas to wait for me.
“It’s nice to finally meet you,” I lied, it wasn’t any nice, I wasn’t happy about seeing him, wished he’d go somewhere and die.
“You met my daughter, you gave her your conditions, and now it’s my turn to ask why?” Elijah asks, she hasn’t told him we’re married, and if I tell him he might not send her back my way.
“I want her to be around, so I can take her to the meeting whenever they’re happening, you wanted part of this life but you sent someone instead of you,” I say with a shrug, he’s the one who lost his chance.
“Yes, I did send her, but I want her to be safe, she’s my daughter after all,” Elijah says and I just looked at him keeping my face blank not giving him anything up.
“I’m not free to play along with you all the time, but she can be free if you can keep her safe, she’ll keep me updated, and then we’ll have fun,” Elijah says clapping his hands together happily, he sounds like a child who finally found a game that’s entertaining.
“This means you’re sending her over to my place?” I ask him, my face not showing my emotions although my eyes might no matter how hard I’m trying to hide it.
“Yes, she’ll be over along with AJ of course, it’s nice doing business with you, dismissed,” Elijah says telling me to get out of his car, he’s not my boss, but I should show him some respect, he’s a vampire lord after all, I know my place in this world and what fight to get in and which one isn’t worth it.
