Devil POV.
Oh god I hate the Irish, they are bad employee, too sloppy, not enough information, and un-trustable, and that’s my friends is exactly why I didn’t work for them, I worked against them. But joke on me, my mission was compromised, and I’m sad to say I was caught.
I wasn’t thinking about me in that moment, I didn’t really care about me, what I was really worried about was Elle, I promised to come home to her, to explain things. She was worried I didn’t like her anymore, I could see that in her eyes when she looked at me, she was scared I’d give her up.
I’d give my left kidney over for her, well my right one too, I’d give my whole life for her, after the four months were over and she agreed on staying with me, I was so happy, my life changed then, to the better. But now these jerks are ruining my only chance of happiness, they’ll kill me and break her little heart, I need to get away, and I need to do so soon.
I tried to sweet talk them, to promise them to give them some information, I didn’t have any loyalties, I’m good selling everyone who won’t kill me secret, plus who’d do the crazy jobs if I’m gone?
I did the second best thing, I fought, I bite a few guys, I fought them teeth and nails trying to get away, but they weren’t playing, freaking Irish, they knew I would try and fight, it’s why they are making sure to keep me locked and under heavy surveillance. Maybe me biting one of the guys fingers off was a step too far, but they refused to let me go, they had other plans or so they keep telling me.
“Today is your lucky day demon” Patrick says, he’s the head of the small gang.
“I’m Devil you idiot” I reply, why can’t he get my name correctly, why does he always mess it up, it’s not that hard, I’m the Devil, not some lone demon.
“Yes, yes, Satan himself,” he says with a smirk, I glared at him, god I hate him.
“Why is it my lucky day?” I ask licking my lips.
“You got bought!” he says with an evil laugh.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think you got the memo, I’m a loner” I say between gritted teeth.
“Yes, the hitman with no loyalties, you did succeed in getting a fair amount of enemies too” he says, I just shrug, I’ll take it as a compliment, I did do that.
“Enemies who are willing to pay millions for your head” he says, for the first time in a really long time, I get scared, I’m not afraid of death, I’m not afraid of being killed, but what I’m really worried about is losing Elle, leaving her alone. I start to fight, I try to get out of my restraints, I can’t die, not now, not with her being left unprotected. I head but Patrick’s nose, getting his nose to bleed freely now, angry, he back slaps me on the face.
“Get her ready! She leaves tonight” Patrick says spitting his own blood out and letting out a stream of curses in English and other languages too. He left me alone with his men, they didn’t dare to unrestraint me, not with me being all worked up and awake, they’ve learned their lesson after losing a finger. Instead, they got some analgesic injection into my arms, and I tensed making the injection even more painful going in. The medication took a few minutes before it gave its effect, I felt drowsy, I felt dizzy and finally, I fell on the floor, I couldn’t keep myself up, even with the chair holding me, they gave me enough tranquillizer to make an elephant sleep.
When I woke up it was to felt my hands restrained, even more than usual, it wasn’t a simple rope or any kind of chains, this was new, it was similar to hugging myself, but the thing had me restrained, it’s a crazy people jacket! How dare they, I’m going to kill someone once I’m free, and believe me I’ll be free and I’ll get my revenge.
They had me in a van, I looked around, I tried to look in front of me, I could see the road, I was driven by two guys only, don’t they trust my craziness enough? I’m really offended here, I deserve more than two guys to protect me while I’m being driven to my death, or maybe they trust the medication and the straight jacket way too much, in both cases, I’m offended here. I could see it’s night, the van was driving forward, there was a T-junction, and the driver stopped over the red light.
“Never knew you guys respect the traffic laws” I say trying to get myself to wake up fully, I need to find a way to get out, maybe talk them into letting me out of the jacket?
“Don’t want to get caught with a psycho on hand” the guy in the front seat answered me.
“Rude!” I say with an eye roll.
I saw the light turn green, our van went forward, but then two cars came forward from our sides, the sides where the light must be red, they got us trapped in the middle, the driver of my van got scared, he hit the break quickly making me fall face forward on to the dirty floor, I couldn’t get up not with my hands tied up. I could hear my two drivers yell and scream, they were saying something about us being attacked, but who would come to save me, they were probably just here by mistake.
The other men got out of their cars, I could hear doors slamming, they are out, but what are they after, not me of course, I heard guns, more shouting, but then the door of the van opened, call me a lucky bitch after all! The ones who came to the rescue or maybe it’s a kidnapping mission, they got me out of the van and into their car driving off, I tried to fight them, but the jacket and the after effect of the drugs were still in my system, they won, they got me in their car.
They drove us away, now where are we going, hoping my new kidnappers are better than my old ones, I decided to talk to them.
“Hey guys, you know, I’m not so fun when I’m all tied up” I say with a smile, a fake one but still a smile.
“Shut it” one of my saviours says, my prince in shining armour.
“Really man, just let me out, we’ll say you lost me,” I say trying to talk them into letting me go.
“I said shut it!” the first guy says.
“Rude” I say to him.
“I didn’t know a hitman would be such a talker” the second guy says shaking his head at me, making me groan.
They kept driving us, I had no idea where we were going but they went until we made it to a bus station, I haven’t taken the bus in so long, and one of the guys got out leaving me to struggle with the straight jacket yet again, it’s not that easy to get out of. Now I have the taste of my future if I ever get caught, well a good thing I never plan on getting caught, not like ever. I’m not going to spend the rest of my life in a lunatic hospital.
The guy who stayed with me came toward me, he was about to finally take the straight jacket off, I was ready to take off and bite his head off.
“Don’t bite me, we’re letting you go” the guy says, he starts to do the buckles, the same time his friend comes back, a gun was pointed at my head at the same time the jacket came off.
“Guys there’s no need for the gun” I say with a big wide smile.
“Not with your reputation” the guy holding the gun says, well he got a point too.
“We got you a ticket, you’re leaving,” the first guy says.
“Leaving where?” I ask.
“You’re in danger here, we got you a ticket now leave,” they say pointing with the gun for me to get out.
Not wanting to die today, knowing they were right, someone was coming to collect my head, it’s not safe for me here anymore, I do take the ticket, get out of the car knowing I’ll be back for my princess later.
