After all, everyone knew about the conflicts between the two sisters. The two of them were arch-enemies, and none of the shareholders wanted to be involved in their fight.
After a long while, Rorey spoke, “since everyone is here, let’s begin the meeting.”
Everyone wore a solemn expression, for this was a meeting that would determine the Group’s future.
Rorey glanced at those sitting down before pushing her document forward. “This is the document certifying the transfer of shares from my father to me. Please take a look.”
Everyone started reading the alleged share transfer agreement.
The shareholders had worked with Seneca for many years, and naturally they were familiar with his handwriting and signature. Most of them agreed on the validity of the document.
However, when they passed the document to Old Chen, he stared so intensely at the signature that the others grew impatient.
“Old Chen, it’s real. Stop staring.”
“Right, you are wasting our time.”
“I know Seneca’s handwriting. since I’m not objecting to it, it must be real.”
Rosiley glanced at the impatient fellows. They were indeed from Rorey’s faction.
She purposefully glanced at Rorey and noticed that she was calm and composed, not flustered at all.
She had truly mastered her own emotions.
With a cold smirk, she turned around to look at Old Chen again. He closed the file and said in a deep voice, “The signature is fake.”
He turned to look at Rorey, a tinge of sharpness within his brilliant eyes. “Miss Gu, it is illegal to forge documents.”
Rorey smirked. “Old Mister Chen, you are old, so of course your eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be. I understand that, and I will not argue the validity of the signature with you.”
As she spoke, she asked the man beside her to retract the document.
However, Old Chen was a stubborn old man. He grabbed the document tightly and expressed himself in agitation. “My eyesight is fine. How could I not misrecognize Seneca’s signature?!”
Rosiley saw Rorey signal with her eyes to the man retrieving the document.
Rosiley was worried that Old Chen would be injured. She quickly walked over and whispered in Old Chen’s ear. “Uncle Chen, I know that this document is fake. However, we don’t have concrete evidence now. So, let’s calm down first. As long as we win the battle today, we will have plenty of opportunity in the future to disprove its validity.”
Old Chen looked at her in bewilderment, obviously surprised that she also knew that the document was a forgery.
Rosiley nodded gently. Old Chen understood what she meant and passed the document back, complaining no further.
Rorey felt uneasy, as she had no idea what Rosiley had said to Old Chen.
She had to continue the meeting. She could only truly relax when she had become the Group chairman.
She raised her voice to announce, “Everyone here knows that my father is still unconscious, and the doctor said that he has no idea when he will be well again. Therefore, to better develop the Group, I propose a re-election of the chairman to help my father manage the company before he wakes up. What does everyone think?”
“We are all very sad that Chairman had fallen ill, and we are worried that the effort placed into the Group will go to waste. I agree with Miss that we should choose a new board chairman.”
“Yes, yes.”
Others agreed.
Rosiley remained silent, smiling gently.
She wanted Rorey to think that victory was well within her grasp.
In that case, she would suffer a fall when she was about to climb to the very top.
A terrible, terrible fall.
Rosiley looked forward to seeing that happen.
