Christopher POV.
“Come on play with me,” Lilly begs me, but I shook my head no, I wasn’t in the mood to play with her or anyone else, I just want to be left all alone, but instead of being allowed to get back to my old home. Instead, the alpha ordered me to stay in her place, something about a made-up threat, she had Peter and she’s a badass alpha, why she needs me to stay, I had no idea, but she just wanted to keep me close.
“Go away Lilly,” I growl at her, my mood wasn’t bad, it was even worse, I felt like I’m living in my personal hell right now and I was, it’s hell on earth and I couldn’t do much about it, instead I had to sit here and babysit Lilly.
“Nope, you’re supposed to keep an eye on me,” she says with too much sass, as usual, she always got her sass, with zero to no cuteness and she never blushes, unlike Bambi, the little deer who had my whole mind, body and soul thinking about her through the whole day.
“You don’t need a babysitter, you need Jesus,” I answer her, but she only sticks her tongue out at me before she leaves the room to go and cause some havoc, of course, that girl could never sit still.
I groan seeing her gone, I have to go and check on her soon, where is my stupid brother, why does he have to be busy and leave me with her, why won’t he take her along, or just lock her in a cage, I have never seen the charm of pet play or putting anyone in a cage, but I think locking Lilly in a cage would be a great addition to her lifestyle and a big relief to mine.
“We’re back!” Colin announces coming in next, he was out with three bodyguards doing some shopping, and he still gets paid generously, not for his service, instead he’s getting an allowance from the alpha.
“Welcome back,” I say with a smile, he’s her best friend, and he’s just as happy as she is, but now she’s gone and he’s here with the alpha, I shouldn’t have let her go.
“I got so many things,” he says but he only held one bag while the rest were carried in by the protection he had along with him.
“What did you get?” I ask him deciding to entertain him.
“I got Bambi another mug, and blankets, and more warm clothes, it’s freezing in her home, and she won’t come to stay here with me,” he says and I looked at him with confusion clear on my face now.
“Why does she need blankets? And another mug?” I ask, Bambi was paid very generously, along with a big payment that I added for her.
“Her mug broke, and it’s cold, you know, it’s always cold in the human district and our old homes,” he says his voice going ice cold, he sounded like he’s not just telling me things, he’s scolding me for what happened, for what I did.
“I didn’t mean for what happened to happen,” I tell him, but the eyes roll he gave me said I’m a liar.
“I thought you two were together, for real, I thought that you’d be for her what Thalia is for me, but I see I guessed wrong, you’ve hurt her,” Colin says, those words hit me hard, very hard, but he’s not in his little space, it’s not the little side of Colin that’s talking to me, instead it’s his big self.
“She said she wanted to leave, she asked to leave, even when I was ready to offer her everything she wanted or needed, she didn’t want me though,” I say my heart broken to a million pieces now, I didn’t know what to say or do, I can’t fight with Colin, he belongs to the alpha and if I say something wrong or piss him off in a wrong way, the alpha would kill me.
“Don’t be stupid, you’re the best Bambi ever had, and she’s hurt, she’s staying at the freezing cold house with big red eyes, do you think she wants that?” he asks me, having the sound and tone of a dominant while he’s just him, the alpha’s little, a little boy, a human is scolding me.
“If she didn’t want that Colin, then why did she leave? After we agreed on being together, after we talked everything through and I thought she was mine then,” I say feeling the urge to yell, but yelling at him would only do me harm.
“Thalia told me you’ve been watching her for two years now, from the day we two got drunk and you were there with us, that means you know about her, you know her work, or what used to be her job, did she ever told you why she did it? Where the money went?” he asks me.
“For her mother, she did the impossible for her mother,” I say knowing her love for her mother was so big she didn’t care about selling herself off to save her.
“She loved her mom, even after she became a drug addict and didn’t talk to her anymore,” Colin says, I didn’t know that much, I could only see so much from far away.
“I didn’t know that,” I answer him with the truth, I didn’t know that for real.
“There’s much you don’t know about her, you saw her from far away, but have you tried to talk to her, to get to know the real her, she’s a little who was denied love for so long, she was used and abused, when you two talked, all she thought was that you wanted her for a little while, for the term, then she’d be gone,” he says.
“I never said so!” I yell losing my patience and cool now, I could torture a guy for ages with cold blood, I always had very long patience, I waited two years before I met the little deer for real but being accused of only wanting her for a short while, that got the worse part of me.
“Then don’t say that to me, you know where to find her,” Colin says in a cold voice, he sounds like Thalia when she scolds me, he sounds very mature, and it’s exactly what I needed, a good scolding to get to wake up, I can’t leave her in the cold for long, I’m going to go and get my little back, she’s mine, and I’m never letting her go ever again.
