Evelyn POV.
We’re getting a stable guy tomorrow, one to take care of the horses, and then maybe I can take my little one on a ride, I didn’t mean to yell at her or be mean at her that evening, but she ran off with Ethan. I told her that she could go and play with him expecting to play in the house or maybe the backyard, but she didn’t, or maybe he didn’t they found their way out toward the woods.
It drove me crazy, I asked Melissa about where the little one liked to play and hide, and she said he likes to play around, and it’s safe, this whole area was a safe place for the submissives to run everywhere and play around without a worry about being hurt or lost. I’m just too used to the school and finding my little one at school was extremely easy compared to being around here, when I finally found her, I was just relieved, I don’t want to lose her, I don’t want her to get hurt, and I’m always worried about her, she’s my little one.
“Mommy… Mommy… I’m awake,” she called out, she slept in while I got ready for the day, I had managed to tidy up our room and picked the clothes she would be wearing today when I heard her voice, I went toward her and picked her up, she had a big pout on her face.
“What’s the pout for?” I ask her with a smile, she should know I’d never leave her behind and she’s crying as if I left her and ran away.
“Nu leave me,” she whines.
“Not ever, you know I promised I won’t leave, not ever,” I assure her.
“Okay,” she says hugging me tight, I got her ready for the day, and made us breakfast, I’m enjoying cooking for her, it’s different than checking what the cafeteria has to offer, this food was made with extra love.
“Today we’re getting a guy who’d come to take care of the horses, and maybe help us with the gardening and I’ll show you around,” I offer her, better than losing her with Ethan the whole day.
“Okay,” she answers me with a big nod.
“Tiger, come here you lazy cat so I can feed you,” I call out, the cat decided to sleep in my bed last night and now she’s lost. I got the food in her bowl and waited for her to come over and eat it, I didn’t want to starve Ryan’s project, I would do anything for Kitkat but turns out I’m not a cat person.
“Mommy, be nice,” she scolded me and I chuckled, right, I will be nice to the tiger who might eat her.
“Sure,” I answer her, I turned the TV on for her and left her to watch a kid’s show, I picked one with animals in it, hoping it’ll help her get used to the idea of seeing animals other than the stupid cat.
There was a knock on our door and I went to open it, I was sure they had sent us someone, some kind of vampire or maybe a human, I didn’t think much of whom they would send us, anyone who could take care of the animals so I wouldn’t be the evil one who starved the animals, I’m not that evil, and I did feed the feline earlier, I had a smile on my face, I’m enjoying my time here, although I almost had a heart attack yesterday when she disappeared playing with her new friend, today I’m not letting her out of my sight.
“Hello,” I say not really taking in who’s standing in my doorway.
“Hello, Miss Evelyn,” the very familiar voice said and my eyes went wide seeing who was standing there, that’s the last person I would ever expect to be there, and I didn’t want him to be here, I slammed my door shut hard.
“Mommy,” Kitkat says coming toward me along with Tiger, now I got both of their attention, I smiled at them pretending to be okay but I wasn’t my heart was beating like crazy, I’m an immortal, who died and came back to life, I’m an old vampire, I’m a teacher, I’m taking care of a little one, but when I saw him, my heart was beating like crazy, when I saw him I was feeling smaller than Kitkat.
I’m a switch, or that’s what he used to call me a switch, a vampire who’s able to go both sides, I’m a big bad mommy, and others I’m a little one who needs to be taken care of and be little as well, but I couldn’t do that not since I had to take care of littles, and I didn’t have the chance to be little, not since the day he broke my heart.
“Go back to your show baby,” I say with a forced smile on my face, I didn’t want to smile, I was terrified, I was running from him and still he came over and ruined my happiness, he ruined my peace.
“Okay,” she says with a shrug going back to her show, there was another knock on the door and I opened it again, he was never good at taking hints and he’s not getting any better at them today, I opened the door and looked at him, stared him in the eyes, trying to tell him with my eyes to leave, that I hate him, that I don’t want to see him ever again, I wanted him to get away from me, from the both of us.
“Why are you here?” I asked him when he didn’t take the hint or the looks.
“I’m here for you, both of you,” he says with a knowing smile on his face, it’s the same smile he gave me years back, the day he changed me, the day he made me fall for him, and the day he broke my heart, it’s the same look he gave to my Katie when he saw her in my class.
“Leave, we don’t want you here,” I say in a cold voice, ready to kick him out.
“Evelyn,” he says with a sigh, and before I could close the door in his face again, he took a step in, he got in my personal space standing right in front of me, our eyes meeting, I had to look up to be to able to see him, while he had to look down.
“Mommy…” Kitkat says again, walking yet again toward us, she looks at me and then at the guy standing so close to me, I don’t know what happened, I’ve never seen her act like that, I couldn’t understand the look on her face, in her eyes, that until she screamed, a scream filled with fear.
I had to save my little one, I can’t let him scare her or bully her into thinking that he can do things she doesn’t want to do.
I pushed William away from me, I pushed him as hard as possible and I must have taken him by surprise, he fell back, hit the front door hard, and then he turned to me with confusion in his eyes, but that wasn’t all of it, I wish it ended there, but he has come into the house of two vampires who were very worried and scared along with Tiger.
It turns out the little tabby wasn’t as useless as I thought her to be, she attacked William ready to protect KitKat who instead of running away or hiding underneath the sofa, she walked toward us she stood between me and William ready to keep me safe while Tiger hissed loudly, ready to attack him.
“Girls, girls,” William begs, I don’t think he was ever in this kind of situation, two vampires standing on top of him with an extinct cat ready to eat him alive.
“Why are you here?” I ask him in a calm voice, I have to calm down to be able to calm Kitkat down, I don’t want her to get hurt.
“I’m your new horse guy,” he says with a cheap smile.
“We don’t want you,” Katie says taking a step back, planting herself against my legs.
“I’m sure they can send us another horse guy,” I say, wanting him to drop the lie and leave.
“Sorry, they sent me, can’t send anyone else,” he says with a confident smile on his face.
“I’m sure I can talk to the one in charge,” I say getting annoyed wiht him again, and that showed on my face and my aura, which made Kitkat whine, she lifted both of her arms up wanting to be picked up, so I did, pulling her in my arms. Tiger took a step toward me, standing right in front of me keeping an eye on William ready to kill him still, he took advantage of that and he got up as well, he stood right in front of us, he was taller than me, and he wasn’t leaving, I could tell so by the look on his eyes.
“I’m sorry, but I talked to the one in chagre, they don’t have anyone else, you’re gonna have to keep me around,” he says with a cheap smile on his face.
“William, we’re not doing this, not in front of her,” I say pointing to the little one in my arms.
“We’re not doing anything Eve, don’t scare the little one over nothing,” he says with a very confident look on his face.
He took a step toward us and Tiger hisses and attack his legs, while he stood right in front of my little one, he tried to caress her face but she hide her face in my chest, I petted her back worried about her crying.
“Hey, Katie, I’m William,” he introduce hismelf and I rolled my eyes at him, we all know who he is.
“Do you want to say hello Kitkat?” I ask her and she shook her head no.
“How about you take Tiger and get back to your show? I’ll have a small chat with William and come right back,” I offer and she nods, I had to carry her to the sofa, placing her there, and letting her hug Tiger as the TV was still running, I changed it into her favourite show, and then left the house with William ready to give him a piece of my mind.
