Annabella’s Point of View:
The Uber ride I entered was really fast, and the cheerful driver kept engaging me in different conversations, commenting on how beautiful I looked and how she is a huge fan of me.
I was anxious, and I didn’t know why, but I had a feeling that a huge twist would enter my life that day. I shook my head multiple times, trying to stop thinking about something horrible. At one point, I had the feeling that I was being watched by a baby.
I felt frustrated, and as I was about to stop the rider and get down, my phone rang, and Logan’s face popped up on the screen.
“Hey Logan, I am almost there.” I informed him with a strained voice, and sighed.
“Okay, I am waiting for you. Also, hurry up, the driver is still at that location…”
While Logan was talking to me, the Uber rider stopped the car, and turned to face me.
“Oh ma’am, where is the address of the place you’re going?” She asked with a sweet smile on her face.
I arched my brows, looking at her like she was an alien.
‘Can’t she see I am on a call?’ My crazy mind cried out, and I hung the call on Logan. This pleased the woman, and she shined her teeth at me happily. This act of hers made her look creepy, and I felt like puking out of the window.
“I actually thought you were a professional, and I paid thousands of pounds to the Uber company.” I murmured under my breath, and angrily shoved my phone at her.
This surprised the woman, it also surprised me because I couldn’t explain how my mood suddenly changed.
The woman collected my phone, confusion written all over her face, and kicked the car’s engine start. After looking at my furious face for a while, wondering what she should do with my phone, it suddenly clicked in her brain that she was supposed to look at the address.
The woman realized her mistake and flashed me an assuring smile, before she continued to drive.
‘What just happened?’ I asked myself anxiously, and my body began to sweat excessively. I knew it could ruin makeup, so I brought out my handkerchief and tried to clean my face.
‘I don’t have mood swings except when I am on my period.’ I continued and tried cracking my brain, thinking about what could have caused my outburst.
“Wait…. I should have ended my period yesterday. How come I didn’t menstruate?” I absentmindedly asked out loud, and the driver turned to look at me with surprise. I looked back at her, and we both felt embarrassed, and stared at each other, till she nearly hit a moving vehicle.
“Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!” She apologized to me, her voice sounding remorseful, and she also apologized to the driver of the moving vehicle.
“I didn’t menstruate this month. Please, is it normal? I mean, you should know since you are an elderly woman.” I confided in the driver politely, but scolded myself for telling something so personal to a stranger. Fortunately, her smile calmed me down.
She didn’t turn to face me this time around, but I could see her smile through the rear mirror.
She laughed at my anxiousness, and smiled once again. “Don’t worry, it happens all the time. It’s been a while since my daughter last saw her period, and the doctor confirmed that nothing is wrong with her. So don’t worry about it, I guess you are just stressed out with all those concerts you attend.” The driver assured me with a gentle smile, and I felt at ease.
I smiled broadly at her, and nodded my head in understanding.
Her eyes widened in awe as she entered the exclusive car park, and I was surprised to see that a lot of people weren’t there.
A limousine was waiting for me, along with Logan’s driver and a maid.
I looked at the rider as she came down to open her Uber door for me, and I felt grateful. It was a normal and usual practice, but today, I felt honored.
“We’ve arrived, super model Annabella Kashin.” She announced with a happy voice, and bowed down her head. I couldn’t contain my joy, and I burst into laughter as I came down from the Uber. I bowed and hugged her.
“Thank you so much, and I am so sorry for my earlier outburst.” I apologized with a sincere smile on my face, and she waved it off.
“Oh, don’t worry about that, super star. I am always cheerful to everyone. But, I would appreciate it if you could sign my palm for me. My daughter and I are huge fans, and it will make her really happy.” She informed me politely, stretching her palm to my front.
“Awwn, I feel so honored.” I confessed with a bright smile, and crossed my hands on my chest, before I brought out my marker.
I carefully wrote ‘The Super Mom’ on her hand, and I signed it. Also, before leaving, I gave her my concert VIP tickets worth thousands of pounds, and she turned emotional.
“Oh! You’re really my superstar, and I want my daughter to become like you.” She confessed, tears rolling out of her eyes, as she held the tickets in her shaking hands. I hugged her once again, and I smiled at the turn of events.
“What is your name, ma’am?” I asked politely, as I cleaned her tears.
“Gabby.” She replied, and I nodded my head at her, murmuring the name under my breath.
“It’s nice meeting you, Mrs Gabby.” I told her with a formal voice, and she burst into laughter.
By this time, Logan’s driver was already getting impatient, and he instructed the maid to spread out the red carpet for me to climb. I bade Gabby goodbye, and watched as she drove out of the park.
“Miss Annabella. I am Erica, your guide.” The maid introduced herself to me and bowed down respectfully.
“Hi, Erica. It’s so good to see you.” I replied politely, and bowed back at her. This surprised her, and she quickly apologized and bowed once again. I laughed at her formal behavior, before holding her hand, and we both walked on the red carpet.
Well, she wanted to refuse at first, but I forced her, and in return, she used an umbrella to shield me from the sun.
The driver greeted me, and introduced himself as ‘Jerome’, and we got along pretty well, to the extent that Erica and Jerome commented on how beautiful and nice I was.
…..
Author’s Point of View:
The limousine entered Lupa’s huge compound, and the scene turned lively with different well-dressed people walking about proudly.
There were a lot of expensive cars in the surrounding area, and dozens of heavily armed soldiers were guiding the gate, proving that the party was for the top influential people in the country.
Hundreds of journalists were outside, struggling to get into the building, but the security officers didn’t allow them.
Before Jerome was let in, he had to show the officers his ID card, and on entering, another driver took the wheels from him, according to them they were following protocol.
This didn’t sit well with Annabella, and she wanted to protest, but Erica calmed her down.
As the car parked, all attention was fixed on them, and everyone stared at the decorated limousine.
The door was opened by Erica, and Annabelle took a deep breath, and carefully put her first leg out of the car, revealing her delicate leg and diamond heel. She braced herself, and took out her other leg from the limousine, before lifting out her body.
On getting down, Annabella Kashin was shocked to see many faces, staring at her in awe, and it got her nervous. This wasn’t her first time in the crowd, but this time felt different, because among the people staring at her were the governor’s wives, kings, princesses, princes, politicians, and wealthy business people.
She accidentally missed a step, and slipped, but before she could fall to the floor, she was caught by a pair of red eyes, and raven-black hair. He offered her a confused smirk, and she arched her brows in bewilderment.
“General Adriel Lupa ….” Annabella stammered in disbelief, her hands were tightly wrapped around the man’s neck, out of fear that she would fall.
