Adriel’s Point of View:
“Well, we plan to get drunk and pass the night in a handsome man’s house,” the girl replied, smiling like a slut.
“Is that so?” Vagon clicked his fingers on the table. “Then please take your leave first, Roseline will stay with us, she has something important to do,” he replied like an overprotective brother, but Roseline hissed loudly and walked away.
Vagon wanted to run after her, but Philious held him down.
“Don’t be such an overprotective brother, let her leave her life. Like you said earlier, one needs to enjoy sometimes. If you continue this strict behavior of yours with her, she might never have a lover.” Philious teased the angry looking Vagon and burst into laughter.
“She is too young to have a lover, I want her to be single! Men are wicked!” Vagon cried out and stamped his foot on the floor angrily.
“In case you’ve forgotten, you are also a man,” I chipped in with a taunting smile on my face.
“Wow, so it’s true. Men will eagerly ruin an innocent lady’s life, but they don’t want their sister’s to associate with men, out of fear that their fellow men will do the same thing they do to other girls to their sister,”
Rachel mockingly said as she laughed at Vagon.
“Don’t worry, learn to trust your gender sometimes, and don’t be an overprotective brother, I am sure you won’t mind a little girl spending the night at your house.” She continued, laughing hysterically at Vagon.
“With all due respect, I don’t sleep with little girls. Also, I don’t joke with my only sister!” Vagon, the once jovial man, looked furious as those words left his lips.
“That’s enough. I also don’t joke with my three sisters, so I understand that feeling, brother Vagon.” Liam chipped in, supporting Vagon with his words.
“Okay, okay, anything you say. Let’s get down to business; Rachel, do you know the keeper’s present location?” Philious asked with a serious expression, and turned to look at Rachel.
“Umm,” a cunning smirk appeared on Rachel’s face as she seducingly scrutinized my outfit.
“Young lady, let’s get down to business, you can have Adriel to yourself later.” Michael’s thick voice snapped her out of her lustful thoughts, and she couldn’t help but laugh at herself.
“Michael, where have you been? I thought you’d been kidnapped.” Vagon whined and began to sulk like a little child. Michael squinted his eyes at him, and burst into laughter.
“You thought I had been kidnapped, and you didn’t bother to search for me. Wow, my friends are the most sincere people I have ever met,” Michael said when he stopped laughing, his voice filled with sarcasm. I couldn’t help but laugh at his words.
“Come on Michael! You know I’ll cry if you die, but trust me I will look after your stubborn little brother for you,” Vagon said with a fake sympathetic voice, and I sneered at him.
“You will look after Mark?” I furrowed my brows and shook my head at him pitifully. “Mark will be the one looking after you, because he is way more mature than you.” I continued, looking at Vagon with a grimace on my face.
As we were about to start another argument, Rachel interrupted us. “The keepers of Neptune are dead!” She informed us and sighed sadly.
“Wait, what? How is that possible?” Philious asked, looking shocked; we were all shocked, but the look on his face was that of horror.
“Yes, that’s not possible, the last information I heard was that the keepers were entering the immortal realm, to gain power over death.” Michael chipped in and sat down beside Liam, who was pressing his phone, uninterested in our discussion.
“Yes, and indeed they entered the realm of the immortal.
In fact, they made it to the final round and ventured into the realm of the dead, but unfortunately, they were killed in the final stage by some people who we have been unable to identify,” Rachel explained and gulped down a glass of wine.
“That’s bad. This is a total setback in our plan! What are we going to do? And who exactly killed the keepers?” Vagon asked in bewilderment, and I couldn’t help but sighed because none of us planned for this.
“Well, some eyewitnesses said they were killed by shadow hunters, but I don’t believe that because shadow hunters have no access to the magical realms,” Rachel shared her opinion with us, and turned to face the playful Liam.
I quickly looked at Micheal, Philious and Vagon, and we signaled a comforting message to ourselves.
“What do you think, boy?” Rachel asked Liam, and he arched his brows.
“Huh,” Liam shrugged his shoulders, surprised that Rachel asked him a question. “I don’t know what to think, but I definitely don’t trust the shadow hunters especially after Logan’s words.” He explained and took a deep breath.
“Logan’s words? What do you mean?” Philious asked, confusion obvious on his face. I turned to look at Annabella, and I saw her talking to one of my father’s mistresses, Rose.
A deep frown settled on my face, and unfortunately she caught me staring at her.
A mischievous smile appeared on my face as I looked at Logan, wondering about the game he was trying to play.
“Logan said he got information that the shadow hunters attacked the rogue vampires first.” Liam explained to us, and I arched my brows.
“How on earth did he get such important information? Is he working with the rogue vampires or what?” I asked Liam suspiciously, and he shrugged his shoulders.
“I don’t know, but I doubt he is working with them. I mean he is a vamp-” Before Liam could complete his sentence, Philious hit him on his head.
“That’s enough, you talk too much!” Michael scolded him like an elder, and Liam twisted his lips. I gave him a disapproving look and he quickly bit his lips.
“I don’t know why you guys are so interested in vampires, I mean they are the best when it comes to keeping a low profile, and no one has sighted a single vampire in years.” Rachel voiced out her thoughts, and I smiled at her broadly.
“We received information that the shadow hunters are now back to haunting vampires,” Vagon confessed with a serious expression on his face.
“Oh, about that,” Rachel sighed softly. “Don’t mind those shadow hunters, they are tired of haunting werewolves, witches, fairies, and shape-shifters, now they are back to vampires,” she moaned out dramatically.
“Give me a minute,” I said and quickly stood up, walking towards Annabella, when I noticed that Rose and Logan were busy with something else. My friends continued to talk and none of them paid any attention to me.
Annabella was busy in her thoughts, and seeing how she kept looking at the door, I knew she was thinking about running through the doors. A mischievous smirk settled on my lips, and I put my hands into my pocket.
“Evening, Miss Kiss Me,” I said with a teasing voice, and I saw the way she immediately froze.
“Mr. Adriel, I was drunk, I apologize for taking advantage of you,” she stuttered and bowed her head in embarrassment and I couldn’t help but continue my laughing.
I mean, I should be the one apologizing for sleeping with a drunk lady, not the other way around, but she decided to end our little bargain and apologize for doing absolutely nothing.
“What do you want then?” She raised her head up courageously, and looked me in the eyes. I was moved by her sudden bravery, and I scratched my chin thoughtfully as a cunning idea popped into my brain.
“You are joking. I should hook up with you tonight? Do I look like a shameless lady?” she asked, her tone filled with anger and bitterness.
“Well, somehow you do,” I replied playfully as my sharp eyes roamed over my body, to check if her legs were alright. I was surprised to see that her legs were not bandaged, and I wondered if it was because of my gift.
But on hearing that she didn’t receive the gift, I knew she was lying because I delivered the gifts to her house myself.
I knew she wanted nothing to do with me, so to keep our little conversation going, I lied about having her information, and the look of disappointment on her face hit my vulnerable side.
To redeem myself, I talked about my family’s culture and their take on virgin men and women, unfortunately she looked angry at me. I didn’t want to get her more angry, so I quickly left her presence, walking back to my friends.
“Look, I can help you get in contact with the keepers of Neptune children, I heard the power will be bestowed to the leader’s first daughter, so you can quickly meet her for help.” Rachel promised us, but my mind was occupied with Annabella’s innocent face.
“Humm, that will be really great, or what do you guys think?” Vagon asked, and I nodded my head in agreement.
I turned to look at Annabella one more time, and on seeing her with Logan, I felt jealous at once. Not because she is my girlfriend or anything, but because I was starting to fall for her.
