NALEDI’S POV
I strutted into the darned dining area with my legs on display.
Korah originally brought in a wedding dress which I was supposed to put on but I set her straight quickly.
No one, and I mean no one had the right to tell me what to wear.
That was a right exclusive to me and I didn’t care if it was my mate, the Alpha or the darned moon goddess orders but I will wear what I want to wear.
“Naledi,” Caellum said with an irritated look on his face.
I didn’t know if it was because I had missed the atrocity of a dress or because I came in late.
Whatever the case was, I didn’t care. He was going to have to shove his feelings up his ass because I wasn’t apologizing.
“Alpha Caellum,” I said when I got to him and cleared my throat when his eyes lingered on my body. “My eyes are up here.”
If Caellum felt called out, he didn’t show it. Instead, he let his eyes linger more on my body. “I never said otherwise.” His lips relaxed in a lazy smirk. “I’ll excuse your tardiness this one time. Have a seat.”
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, and with the tiniest voice, I said, “I’d think you would pull out a seat for me.” I smirked, “Seeing you asked me out to dinner.”
“I didn’t think a strong woman like yourself would have a hard time pulling out her seat.” He gritted.
So he didn’t want to do it. Now I wanted him to do it.
“Why? It’s common courtesy for you to pull out a chair for a woman. Especially one who was just abused by your pack members.” I said in a nitty-gritty tone. “It shows a lot of things. For starters, that you were not behind the abuse-”
Before I could finish, Caellum walked towards me and pulled out a chair just beside his. “Are you okay now?” He gritted, and I smiled.
“Yes, thank you.” I took a seat.
My eyes roamed about the table, taking in the delicious treats. “A feast you have prepared.” I managed to say, taking an apple, and biting in.
“Thank you,” Caellum said. I didn’t miss the bass in his tone.
Who was he trying to impress? Hmph!
We ate silently until the silence became unbearable. This was by far the worst date I have been opportune to experience. And I have been on a lot of dates. Not like I thought this was a date but you get the point.
“This is awfully silent for someone who asked me to dinner.” I finally spoke. “Not to talk of boring.”
“And you are awfully chatty for someone who slightly got away from being gang raped.” His words felt like a slap, and I recoiled. Caellum saw the look on my face and immediately tried to rectify the situation but I didn’t have it.
“What? You expect me to be broken? To be a weak woman who can’t shut up about what happened to her? You want me to stroke your ego and thank you for rescuing the lady who almost got raped by the same people you handed her over to?!”
“Naledi.”
“Don’t fucking mention my name!” I threw my fork to the plate and it made a clattering sound. “Is that what this is? Check on the poor girl who nearly got raped by offering her dinner and getting mad because the incident didn’t break her?”
Caellum got on his feet. “Watch it.” His tone communicated his seriousness. But I didn’t care.
“What a sorry excuse of a mate you are.” I huffed.
Caellum appeared in front of me within a blink and dragged me by the waist. I was left open-mouthed and breathless.
“You think I loved that?” He asked, eyes wide and angry. “You think I enjoyed watching those fools place a hand on what’s mine? Do you think I loved them seeing and touching what was meant for my eyes only? I fucking pulled out their eyeballs and killed them but it doesn’t satiate the anger I feel for what they did!”
“And is that supposed to make it better?” I pushed away from him with a mad look on my face. “You want to be applauded for killing them? For plucking their eyeballs?” I clapped my hands. “Good fucking boy.” Caellum looked like he was minutes away from blowing up but I didn’t care. “Guess what? It wasn’t supposed to happen in the first place. And that’s on you! It’s only fitting that you cleaned up the mess you created, don’t you agree?” I said to his face, breathing heavily.
Seconds trickled by and we faced each other, breathing heavily and mad with rage for each other. If he was going to kill me, he might as well be my guest.
Caellum did the opposite. Never in a million years did I anticipate or think this would be the reaction to my outburst – he dragged me flush against him and captured my lips in a maddening kiss.
Sparks flew as our lips connected, igniting a fire of need in my guts, a hole that only he could fill. I kissed him back feverishly, unable to control my desires.
After what seemed like an endless kiss, Caellum dropped down to my neck, kissing and sucking. My eyes rolled back, that was my sweet spot. He found it so easily and boy did he exploit it.
What were we arguing about again?
His hard-on pressed against my core and I wondered what he looked like under his clothes. My hands found their way to his trousers and I groped his erected girth. If he was this big with the clothes, I wondered how big the monster would be when let free.
Caellum’s kisses got to my chest and with one drag, my buttons broke, exposing my black bra. He littered kisses around me and soon took a nipple into his mouth, and bit hard.
Someone must have handed him a manual because I creamed my panties, turned on at his sweet assault. I closed my eyes, enjoying the feel of him against me when he suddenly came up to my ears and whispered. “You like that didn’t you?”
His tone was sultry and hot. Every girl in her right sense will die to have more of that sweet sensation. I wasn’t in my right senses. My eyes flung open and I realised just how far I’d gone off track.
Stupid, stupid girl.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm that raged inside of me. “Let’s strike a deal.”
