Stella POV.
“Princess,” James says and I ignored him, no I ignored them both, I didn’t want to talk with either of them, my bum hurt and James didn’t protect me like he promised to do.
“She’s mad because her bum aches, but if she even thinks of doing that again, she won’t be able to sit for a week,” Milo warns me.
“Where did Theo go?” I ask them, I missed him, at least he didn’t slap my behind.
“Getting his ass chewed by my dad,” Milo answers me, but at least he didn’t get spanked.
“He’ll get it too later tonight,” Milo assures me, how does he hear me so easily? How does he listen to my thoughts without even trying.
“I don’t need to know,” I whined, I didn’t need to know but I knew now, he’s in deep troubles too.
“Princess,” James says getting my attention but I ignored him as well, still mad.
“I wasn’t the one who smacked you, if it was me, it wouldn’t be that public or that short,” James says next making me turn fully red, was he on my side or someone’s else?
“Who’s side are you on?” I ask him angrily.
“I’m not taking sides, I’m happy you saved me, but he’s right, I wouldn’t allow my soul to run around and get away from me, even if we share her, I’ll never allow her or my mate to get away from me,” James says in a firm voice.
“Then good thing I’m not your soul,” I say angrily, he turned to me with a look of hurt and pain, why is he mad? I do have two wolves, I don’t need another one, especially one that wants to smack my bottom.
“I’m not that bad,” James says sounding hurt, he and Milo share a look between them two before they both went quiet.
“Milo, you have to drop me home,” I say as he quietly drove the car.
“Why can’t you come over for a bit? I’ll make sure he doesn’t touch you like that again,” James promises me.
“Because dad is going to kill me,” I say honestly.
“I can come in, tell him we were together, picking my cousin up,” Milo offers and I think about it, it could work, telling dad that’s why I’ve been missing the whole day.
“Fine,” I say, only because mom likes him, it might work for real.
“How bad is your dad?” James asks me.
“Last time I fought with Finn he grounded us both, you make your own judgment,” I say back to him.
“Oh,” James says with a sigh.
We parked in front of my house and my heart started to beat quickly, I was terrified, what’s going to happen with dad, would he forbid me from seeing Milo ever again? I wouldn’t blame him if he does that.
“Finn told him you’re with us the whole time,” Milo tells me, so he did have a plan at least.
“Did he believe him?” I ask Milo.
“He did, but he’s not too happy about it, we’re in for a scolding,” Milo says and James laughs at him.
“What are you laughing about?” I ask him.
“You two came to save me, face first coming to a place filled with vampires, we stole three cars and you’re scared from your father? And you badass alpha, scared of him?” James asks us laughing, he was shaking, his whole body was trembling.
“Are you okay?” I ask James, he doesn’t seem to be okay.
“Oh, I’m fine, my hero is a human girl who’s afraid of her father, oh has the mighty fall,” he says, his words going from laughter to tears, he didn’t look to be okay anymore, he looked like a very sad man, he looked like one who’s broken.
“James, they saved you, against my will, I know this is embarrassing, but no one need to know how and why, you’re here now and that’s all that matters,” Milo says.
“Everyone would know by now, your mate, he’s not my biggest fan, I bet he’s telling everyone he saved me, show off,” James says in a cold voice.
“James, please, they did it for me,” Milo says, we did do it for him, we saved that guy for him, to make him happy, to save his tears.
“You knew I could have gotten away if I wanted to, but an alpha fall with his pack, they’ve been hunting me, looking all around for me, what if I put your pack in danger now?” he asks Milo yelling, sounding very angry and offended.
“I couldn’t take the idea of you dying,” Milo says, and those words felt like they held a lot of emotions behind them, he meant a lot more than he’s showing, I tried to read into Milo, to look into his head like he does with me, but I couldn’t do that, his brain was like a fortress.
“What is she trying to do?” James asks confused.
“Trying to read into me,” Milo answers me.
“Does it usually work with her?” James asks confused still, he’s a storm of emotion, he goes from laughing, to getting angry, to crying, to confusion, I’m having hard time to follow with him.
“She never tried it before, and she still needs training, a lot of training,” Milo says making me pout.
“If I do end up staying, I’ll be happy to help with her,” James offers.
“You two are insufferable, come on, let’s go in, so dad can beat your arses for me,” I say angrily, getting out of the car slamming the door behind me.
“Lil-star, come on,” Milo says running after me.
“Come on princess,” James says too, I was inside the house now, and dad was waiting for us in the living room.
“Welcome back,” dad says looking at us.
“Hey, dad, sorry, this was a surprise ride,” I lied with a big fake smile on my face.
“Where did you two go?” dad asks.
“They went to pick me, James, nice meeting you, I’m Milo distance mother cousin, I’m here visiting aunt Amelia,” James says shaking hands with him, sounding young and innocent.
“How old are you James?” Dad asks him, is he going to tell him that he’s forty? Dad would never believe him.
“I’m nineteen,” James says, he lied.
“Nice meeting you,” dad says in a firm voice, they stayed around to talk for a couple more minutes before the two guys finally left and it was just me and my family.
“I don’t like you spending time around nineteen years old,” dad says.
“You didn’t have any trouble with me dating Milo a month ago,” I say remembering that he didn’t care last month.
“He’s older than you,” dad says.
“Finn is dating Cici and she’s older than him,” I say, defending myself, I’m not the only one who’s dating someone who’s three years older than me.
“Come on, it’s not that bad,” Mom says defending us.
“You’re happy that she’s hanging with older guys?” Dad says.
“She’s our daughter, and we know Milo, they won’t be doing anything we don’t want her to do,” Mom says defending us again.
“And if she end up pregnant? Or an addict?” dad says, I didn’t think he thought that low of me.
“She’s my daughter, I trust her,” mom says ending the fight, it’s not the first one they have about us and our dating life, he’s not too happy with Finn either.
“Go to your rooms, both of you, now,” dad order us, he gave up on us, he’s not going to keep on fighting in front of us, I was happy to go to my room and hide there until they call us again.
I really needed a shower, I looked like I was ran over, ran through the woods, and stole three cars, I do look the part, weird that dad didn’t comment on that, or maybe that’s why he’s mad. I went to shower right away, letting the hot water wash the events of the day off, I was finally warm and safe, after the water started to get cold, I decided to leave the bathroom, wrapping myself in a towel, I went toward my room and changed into a thick PJ.
“You’re gonna sleep?” Theo says making me jump and call help in my head, I was terrified.
“What are you doing here?” I whisper yell at him.
“I like your bed better,” he says with a shrug, my phone decided that’s the best moment to ring, so I pick it up right away.
“Hello,” not checking who’s calling.
“Are you okay? What happened?” Milo asks me worried.
“I’m fine,” I say right away.
“You’re scared what happened?” he asks me.
“Nothing, Theo surprised me,” I say, it’s the usual, he comes in and scare me, but it’s fine, he’s not going to hurt me.
“Okay, if you need any help, call,” Milo says.
“Okay, bye,” I say ending the call with him, I looked at Theo with a sigh.
“What does he want?” he growls.
“Nothing, you scared me, and he was worried,” I answer him, he didn’t look too happy, he’s still mad at Milo for calling?
“Fine,” Theo growls.
“Please keep it down, dad is already mad at me,” I say looking at Theo giving my best kitten eyes.
“Fine,” he growls in a low voice this time, at least he’s keeping it down.
“Are you going to sleep next to me tonight?” I ask him and he nods, I locked my door to be sure that dad won’t come into my room while I sleep and his worst dream comes true.
“If you don’t mind,” he answers me.
“It’s okay,” I say, we both got in my bed and he held me tight, his hug isn’t that bad either, it’s good, I prefer Milo but as Luna Amelia said, it’s better to let us hug us, we make them feel more human, and I should be enjoying it, I do but not that much.
“Why are you so mad?” I ask Theo as we both were ready to fall asleep, both of our eyes were closing on their own.
“You’re giving up on me, again,” he whines, sounding hurt and sad.
“I’m not,” I assured him.
“The way you looked at James, it’s the same way you used to look Milo and then he became your wolf, and you like him more than you do me,” he says.
“I’m both of your souls, you and Milo, I like you both,” I assured him.
“And now you got James,” he says.
“I don’t get James, I’m not going to be another wolf soul, not again,” I say unbelievably.
“So you say,” Theo says sounding hurt, he turned to the other side and fell asleep, I knew he was asleep because he was snoring, I sighed and decided to fall asleep too, I was exhausted.
