Jealousy is a green monster, jealousy is behind most fights among children, the ones who can’t control their feelings and end up hurting each other, I know we’re not like others, I know we’re different but we should respect each other feelings.
Theo is my cousin, he’s like a brother to me, we’re good friends, we might not be spending a lot of time together at school, but outside of school we’re good friends, and we spend a lot of time together.
I’m not a human, and neither is Theo, and that might be really cool, it’s fun and all, but Theo is messing with the wrong person, Theo is too close to having his ass handed to him by our boss, that to put it in human terms, and messing with Milo never ends up well.
When Theo dragged the human girl out of the restaurant I followed them, I don’t trust Theo alone with her either, I know he’s her number one protector, he’ll be the one who’d keep her safe always and forever, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t get mad or overwhelm her with his feelings, she doesn’t understand what we are yet, and it could be scary, and if she runs he’d chase.
“Tell him to remember his place,” Milo says in a growling voice to me.
“Okay,” I agreed with him, ready to follow them, but he stopped me, he held my hand with a bit of force pulling me back.
“I know what he thinks they are, but I will show him his place if needed,” he says in a very cold voice, one that scared me, I don’t like fighting with Milo, I never fight with Milo, I’m usually nice to Milo, I bow my head and look the other side avoiding fighting with him, but Theo loves fighting and pushing his limits, I swear those two love to hate each other.
“I’ll talk to him,” I say trying to get out of his hold, and finally he let me go, I ran after the two lovers, well Theo was the lover and Stella had a crush on him, but she was acting weirdly around Milo, he has an aura to him, we can all feel it, even if she’s still a human, she could feel it too, she knows not to mess with him.
“Theo, Stella, did you two leave without me,” I say following them right away, I ran toward them, Theo looked furious and she looked terrified.
“No, we’re not,” Theo says in a cold voice, he was pissed, I knew I’d be pissed too if my mate was looking at my alpha like he’s the prettiest person alive, she should be looking at him like that, and not at Milo.
“Good, ’cause I’m coming along, where do you want to go?” I ask them trying to put a smile on my face, trying to make it up for the both of them, trying to solve things through.
“I want to go home, I don’t feel well,” Stella says, she’s terrified of us, great job Theo, I think to myself with a groan.
“We’ll take you,” I say with a fake smile, pushing my cousin toward his car, we’re gonna have a big talk once she’s gone, he’s not getting out of this easily.
“Okay,” Stella says, she took the backseat again, Theo tried to look at her while he drove, but she avoided his eyes.
“So Stella, do you like our small town?” I ask her with a smile on my face, trying to change the topic.
“Yeah, it’s nice and all,” she says with a tight smile.
“You should take my number, so we can gossip even while at home,” I say giving her my number, she still has an American number, but it’s different than ours, we’ll get her a local one later on.
“Thank you for today guys, I think I should rest,” Stella says getting out of the car, smiling at us and closing the door behind her, she didn’t look too happy with us and so I turned to Theo with a big frown.
“Why did you do that?” I ask him angrily, she had a crush on him, he could have worked with that, taken her on dates, made her fall for him and then told her the truth, it’s how we treat our mates, it’s how we make sure that they are happy and safe.
“Did you see the way she’s looking at Milo?” he growls at me and I roll my eyes at him, of course, I saw the way, and I also saw the way Milo looked at him.
“You don’t want to mess with our alpha Theo,” I remind him, he has had his ass handed to him a million times already but he loves messing with Milo, he never stops.
“Alpha or not, he shouldn’t be looking at her like that,” Theo says with a growl, he is furious, but if I leave him to go and talk to Milo, they’ll end up fighting.
“Remember when he broke your arm?” I remind him, that was two years ago, Milo is older than us, Milo is stronger than us, and Milo doesn’t care about hurting anyone to teach them a lesson, we don’t die easily, we might break but we get healed easily, and quickly.
“I also remember giving him a shoulder injury,” Theo says, he hurt Milo back, I never understood their relationship and how they act with each other, but I know that neither of their parents was too happy about this.
“Theo, you need to think about her as well, she wouldn’t be too happy if she heard that you got hurt,” I say, trying to use her as a defence not to have him being hurt by Milo.
“Fine, I won’t fight with him, but I’m going to tell her,” Theo said and I was ready to hit him, he’s my cousin, I love him, but he’s stupid, really stupid.
“Theo, you can’t just go to her and say ‘Hey girl, I’m a werewolf and you are my mate, you hold my soul inside of you, now we love each other’,” I say sarcastically.
“That’s not a bad idea,” he says thinking about it, and I growled out loud, my wolf wanted to come out, beat his ass, and then get home and take a nap.
“She’ll run to the hill, no she’ll run and never come back,” I say slowly trying to explain to him that what he’s doing is really wrong.
“She can’t run,” Theo says with a sigh, that boy was too arrogant for his own good, and I couldn’t help it anymore, I smacked his side.
“Aouch,” Theo says rubbing the side of his shoulder.
“Don’t be so arrogant! Think about her, and drop me home, I’m done with you, let Milo give you a good spanking you need a good punishment you brat,” I say having enough of him.
“I’m not a brat, and I haven’t been spanked in years,” he says.
“I hope he does that,” I say having enough of him.
Theo dropped me home and I went right in, I had a headache and needed a good nap, so I went right toward my room, took off my uniform and dropped face first on my bed, I should be able to sleep, I’m exhausted. I started to think of my own mate and when would he or she come into my life, I miss them already, and I want to have a mate too, I’ll take good care of them unlike Theo, I won’t fight my mate, I won’t be mad if they have a crush on Milo, I have a crush on Milo half of the time, and it’ll be funny to have a crush together.
What Theo meant earlier was that his mate can’t get too far away from him she’ll feel a pull, she’ll feel pain if she’s too far away of the wolf, she holds his soul and they need to be near each other, and I mean it literally, she holds his soul, he’s a soulless creature, I’m the same, we don’t have a soul inside of us, we like each other, we love each other, but we don’t really feel we don’t have souls, but when our mates comes into our lives, we learn the truth of love and happiness. Our mates are our souls, our mates are our aim in life, and I couldn’t wait to have mine, tears started to fall down my face, and I cried myself to sleep.
I woke up grumpy, I didn’t have a soul, I was all alone, and I was hurt, I walked toward the fridge, hoping to fill the emptiness in my heart with junk food, but I didn’t find anything interesting so I moved to the snack drawer but it was empty, I live in this house with my family, but our packmates come in and out of the house and snack on my damn snacks.
With a groan, I went back to my room and picked up a hoodie that I had stolen from one of the pack members, I placed the hood over my head, it was too big and hid most of me which was great.
I put on my shoes and walked out of the house, I didn’t want to drive or ask anyone for a ride, I decided to walk, I wasn’t going to the store, but I wanted a snack or two, so I went to the next best place to get snacks, Theo’s home. I walked in right away, most of the pack houses are left open in case someone needed anything, we are a big family, one that loves to bite at each other’s necks, but a family still.
“Theo, are you here?” I called out as I went toward the kitchen and picked a couple of snacks that sounded interesting, since Theo didn’t answer me, I went toward his room and decided to hide there and eat my snacks. I was hiding underneath his blanket, I didn’t have any homework to do today, unlike Theo I do my homework right away and I never had any late assignments.
I was looking through my social media on my phone when the door opened and in came Theo with a big frown on his face, I looked up at him confused.
“Are you okay?” I asked him, he wasn’t very surprised about seeing me here, I live in his house most days.
“I had a small argument with Hunter,” he says with a groan.
“How small?” I ask him?
“Nothing broken,” he says, Hunter was our Beta, he’s Milo’s right hand, and a police officer, not anyone to mess with.
“Anything bruised?” I ask him next.
“Just my ego,” he says and I laughed at him, at least nothing broken.
“Wanna watch a movie?” I ask him.
“I have to run patrol, wanna join?” he asks me, I don’t like running patrols, and since I’m only sixteen I’m not asked to run many, I like to use my school as an excuse to why I don’t and can’t run patrol.
“I’ll join you for a bit, but I’m going back home when I’m sleepy,” I warned him, I don’t enjoy running patrol.
“You got a deal,” Theo says, we both walk out of the house, we don’t need to get naked to change, our clothes just disappear, and when we shift back, the clothes come back with us, it’s magic.
As we get older, shifting gets easier, but when kids, it is a very painful and long situation and it takes forever to happen, we started to run around the edge of the wood and between the houses of our pack, we need to make sure that everyone was fine, but I noticed that Theo was running right toward Stella’s house, of course, he was.
