Chapter 508: Confrontation!

Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-9-3

At the Flower Sea Mountain racetrack, countless spectators from various Miao Villages gathered, their voices filling the air as they surrounded the track.
The Miao Family horses were already released onto the track. There were about twenty fire rings, each spaced twenty to thirty meters apart.
Participants needed to mount any horse as quickly as possible and pass through all the fire rings to win.
Quentin, Beckett, and other contestants from various Miao Villages stood at the starting line a hundred meters away, forming a neat row.
The contestants, dressed in colorful Miao Village attire, were all poised to start, but Quentin remained calm and unhurried.
Similarly, Beckett appeared confident and determined, showing disdain for his competitors.
“Who do you think will win the horse race this time?”
“It must be Beckett from the Black Miao Village. He wins first place every year in the Big Game!”
“I think Khan from the Red Miao Village is also good. He performs impressively every year and always competes closely with Beckett for first place, just lacking a bit of luck!”
“Yeah, but he’s always second place!”

“That unknown guy from the White Miao Village might be strong too. He could be a dark horse!”
As the race was about to begin, the audience started guessing who would take first place, shouting and cheering for their respective contestants.
Despite various analyses from the spectators, most still believed that Beckett would take first place again.
Khan, a young man from the Red Miao Village, was burly and strong with a simple and honest appearance.
He competed with Beckett every year in the Big Game but always fell short due to bad luck, making him the recognized second place in the Miao Territory, a title that pained him deeply.
“Khan, aren’t you tired of being second every year? Are you going for it again this time?” Beckett mocked.
“Hmph, I won’t let you win this time, you cunning scoundrel,” Khan retorted, determined to take first place this time and shed his second-place title.
“Oh, it seems you’re still not convinced after losing so many times. I’ll make sure you lose again this time!”
Beckett sneered, not taking Khan seriously at all. He was only thinking about how to teach Quentin a lesson during the race.
“Get ready!”
As they spoke, the race judge gave the signal, raising a white flag. Everyone assumed their best starting positions, ready to give their all.
Quentin remained calm, hands behind his back, seemingly under no pressure.
“Ready!… Go!”
With the signal given, the contestants dashed towards the horses a hundred meters away at full speed.
Khan was extremely fast and took the lead, feeling elated inside.
Unexpectedly, someone caught up beside him-it was Beckett. With a relaxed expression, Beckett smirked at Khan and slowly overtook him.
Beckett maintained his lead, swift as ever. The audience’s cheers grew louder, filling Beckett with pride.
“Chieftain, your son Master Beckett is as fierce as ever!”
“Indeed, it looks like Master Beckett will win first place in the Big Game again this year!”
“Congratulations in advance, Chieftain!”
Various clan leaders flattered Wesley.
The Chieftain felt elated by the praise, smiling broadly and modestly saying, “You flatter me. My son is just lucky.”
As Beckett and Khan approached the horses, a strong wind suddenly swept past them. A black shadow zoomed by at lightning speed.
When the shadow stopped, it was Quentin on a white horse. He looked like a valiant general on his steed.
The crowd was astonished. Was this speed a joke? How could he completely outpace Beckett and Khan? Who was this person from the White Miao Village?
The patriarchs at the Chieftain Base Camp broke into a cold sweat. Even Patriarch Rodney and Wizard Eric were shocked. They had thought Quentin’s strength was at most comparable to Beckett’s or slightly inferior.
The most affected were Beckett and Khan.
Beckett couldn’t believe that this pretty boy had surpassed him; he was convinced Quentin must have cheated somehow.
Khan felt even worse. Not only did he have someone stronger than him already, but now there was someone even more formidable. Was he going to be third this time? He would rather stay second forever than be third!
Cerys and Eileen remained calm; they had long known Quentin’s strength. But the people from White Miao Village and Aimee’s family were incredulous. The hero who had slaughtered wolves was this powerful!
Little did they know that Quentin had used less than ten percent of his strength, yet it was enough to shock these Miao People.
If he went all out, he might scare them senseless.
Quentin didn’t linger; he rode towards the fire rings. He just wanted to finish the race quickly.
Quentin’s overwhelming presence subdued even the fiercest Miao Family horses without resistance. They galloped swiftly under his command.
Beckett and Khan snapped out of their daze and mounted their chosen horses, chasing after Quentin with all their might.
Some contestants lacked skill in taming horses and were thrown off by their resisting steeds, suffering broken bones or worse injuries from being trampled.
The fire rings loomed ahead with blazing flames, intimidating in their intensity.
Quentin prepared to leap through them as Beckett and Khan struggled to catch up.
As Beckett neared Quentin, he sneered disdainfully:
“Running fast is all you can do! I’ll surpass you through the fire rings!”
