Chapter 507: Provocation!

Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-9-2

The entire White Miao Village was in an uproar. Was Wizard Eric planning to let Quentin, an outsider, participate in the Clans’ Big Game without informing the Chieftain?
With Quentin’s ability to slay a pack of wolves, Wizard Eric’s plan might succeed in defeating Beckett and winning the Big Game!
This was a decision made by Patriarch Rodney and Wizard Eric. White Miao Village used to be one of the top villages in Miao Territory and had won the Clans’ Big Game before.
However, in recent years, Beckett from Black Miao Village had amazed everyone at the Flower Mountain Festival, winning first place consecutively and being recognized as the strongest young man in Miao Territory.
Black Miao Village began to rise, gradually becoming the most powerful Miao Village, and Wesley became the chief leader.
But instead of leading the Miao Territory people to peace and prosperity, Black Miao Village continuously exploited every Miao Village. Each village had to regularly pay food and money to Black Miao Village.
The annual extortion by Black Miao Village left the people of each Miao Village in misery. Despite their anger, they dared not speak out due to Black Miao Village’s overwhelming power.
Wizard Eric invited Quentin to participate in the Clans’ Big Game for a larger power struggle after the Flower Mountain Festival.
But it all depended on whether Quentin agreed to join the Clans’ Big Game.
“No,” Quentin said coldly. He had no interest in the Clans’ Big Game and was only here to watch the event.
Wizard Eric had expected Quentin’s response and sighed helplessly. Quentin, being an outsider, had no obligation to help White Miao Village.
“Quentin, why don’t you participate? Just consider it an experience,” Cerys persuaded.
“Cerys, I’m an outsider. If I participate, it would ruin the fairness of the Big Game.”
“If discovered, your White Miao Village would be criticized by everyone.”
Quentin found a legitimate reason to decline.
“Wolf Slayer Hero, if we help you keep it a secret, no one will know you’re an outsider.”
“We all know your strength. If you participate in this Big Game, it could bring a significant change to White Miao Village,” Wizard Eric said with a hint of pleading in his voice.
“Yes, Quentin, our White Miao Village has been severely oppressed these past few years.”
“The future of White Miao Village could change because of you. Black Miao Village has been committing atrocities for years, causing immense suffering for the people of Miao Territory.”
“Besides… I don’t want to marry Beckett. He’s notorious for being a bad person.”
At this point, Cerys’s eyes were filled with tears, evoking sympathy.
“Cerys, can’t you just refuse Beckett’s proposal?” Quentin asked, puzzled.
“Quentin, Beckett is evil and bullies the weak. Every year after winning first place in the Flower Mountain Festival Big Game, he proposes to the beautiful and talented women of Miao Territory.”
“Those women know his nature and don’t want to marry him. But he uses his father’s power as the Chieftain of Miao Territory to force those villages to marry off their women to him.”
“Those women live in misery after marrying him, with no peace,” Henry sighed helplessly.
“Currently, no one in Miao Territory can match him. It’s almost certain he’ll win first place in this Flower Mountain Festival Big Game again.”
“This time, he’s set his sights on my daughter Cerys. She’s destined for a hellish life if she marries Beckett,” Aimee lamented, tears streaming down her face.
Imagining Cerys’s fate if she married Beckett was like envisioning a living nightmare.
Seeing Cerys’s family in such pain, Quentin frowned slightly. Cerys’s family had been kind to him. To prevent Cerys from marrying Beckett, he couldn’t stand by idly this time.
“In that case, I’ll represent White Miao Village in the Big Game. But it’s only for Cerys’s family. I can’t guarantee there won’t be any mishaps,” Quentin agreed. Seeing him agree to participate in the Big Game brought joy to everyone.
“Then please head to the arena now, Wolf Slayer Hero.”
“I’ve already arranged your name on the participant list. Remember, your name is Webb.”
Wizard Eric requested.
“It seems you anticipated I would agree,” Quentin remarked calmly as he finished his tea and headed towards the arena.
Wizard Eric smiled sheepishly. He knew Quentin would participate for Cerys’s family.
“Quentin, good luck!” Cerys’s family cheered him on, as did the people of White Miao Village. Quentin smiled back at them.
Eileen continued sipping her tea leisurely. She was well aware of Quentin’s abilities and knew Beckett from Black Miao Village was in for a tough time.
Wizard Eric returned to the Chieftain Base Camp. Patriarch Rodney was delighted to see Quentin entering the arena. This time, White Miao Village might just be the dark horse.
As Quentin stepped into the arena, everyone from various Miao Villages was astonished.
“Who is this guy? I’ve never seen him in White Miao Village before.”
“When did White Miao Village get such a handsome man? I must find him later.”
“I could take down ten of these pretty boys!”
“Even at my peak, I’d avoid someone as handsome as him.”
The crowd buzzed with curiosity about Quentin, this unfamiliar young man from the Miao Family.
His striking handsomeness made men jealous and women infatuated.
The Chieftain Base Camp showed little reaction. For leaders of their status in Miao Territory, it was normal not to recognize newcomers like Quentin.
“So you finally showed up. I thought you’d hide like a coward,” Beckett sneered as Quentin entered the arena, his face full of mockery. He was thrilled at the thought of crushing Quentin in the competition.
“Let’s see if you’re still laughing later,” Quentin replied calmly, his demeanor composed and confident.
Seeing Quentin so self-assured, Beckett scoffed and said disdainfully,
“Hmph, just a useless braggart! We’ll see!”
