Eli POV.
How do I come to the same pack where I kidnapped one of their own? Maybe I should just go in and tell them how bad their security is, but I don’t think that would end up well with them. I know Aspen was joking around with Ashlynn to help her feel better, and not worried, but I’m the one who needs reassuring now, I looked at Aspen worried.
“Don’t worry, you’re my little too,” Aspen assures me, driving us toward her brother’s place.
“What if he tries to kill me?” I ask him really worried now.
“I won’t allow him to,” he assures me, but I was still pouting, afraid of what was coming.
“My brother won’t kill you, if he tries I’ll beat his bum, don’t worry, he knows not to mess with me,” Ashlynn assures me, but I was still worried.
The drive there was slow and hard on my nerves, normally, I’m a bad guy, I’m someone who knows his way around, I have my ways. But her brothers, my mate’s brothers, kind of scare me, I can’t just get information about them or go in with a gun, I had to do this the old traditional way, and I have next to zero information about how wolves do this normally.
“Are you ready for this?” Aspen asks us, we’re here, the wolves have allowed us in, I could see them moving from one way to another, most humans won’t notice them, but knowing what’s coming, I was paying extra attention to everyone and everything.
“No, can I stay behind?” I ask them both worried now.
“It’s okay, I’ll save you,” Ashlynn promises me, getting out of the car first, while I stayed hidden behind Aspen the whole time.
“Ashlynn! Thank god, you’re safe!” her brother, who I knew is Jordan says hugging her tight.
“I’m, I found my mates!” she says all excited, can’t she just skip me? Aspen is much better at meeting others.
“I see little sis, why don’t you introduce us?” he says, suddenly having a gun put against my head sounds like such an easy and relaxing situation, being threatened with a bomb felt safer than meeting her brother right now. I know I was much more confident when it came time to kidnap her because it was just me and her, but now having others around, I’m just grateful that Aspen is our third.
“This is Aspen, he’s our third, and the one hiding behind him is Eli,” she introduce with a big smile on her face, I could see how comfortable she is around her brother, how she was smiling and happy about being here with them.
“Nice meeting you,” Aspen says shaking hands with him, isn’t he afraid of the big bad wolves, I wasn’t little right now, but I don’t mind pretending to be one as long as I get to hide behind Aspen.
“How about we take this inside, let’s go Ash,” Micah the alpha, the one who did the interview with me before.
“Yesh, Ash, do come in, and tell me more about how you found those mates of yours,” Jordan says, he doesn’t sound like a kitty, nor look like one, only because he’s blond maybe?
We all took a seat in the alpha’s office, the same office we sat in the first time we met here, face to face, I couldn’t help but smile.
“So tell me, Ashlynn, how and where did you go?” Jordan asks her, in his dominant scary voice.
“Uhh, Eli and I met and we left,” she lies, I kidnapped her.
“Don’t lie, you’re a bad liar,” he says, and he’s right, she’s a bad liar.
“Uhhhh… Eli took me?” she says but he shook his head no, he knew something else was going.
“Took you?” he says out loud now.
“Fine, fine,” she says then looked at Aspen for help, we all look at Aspen for help.
“Eli, thought it was better if they went somewhere private, and safe, the island is completely safe, there was nothing to be worried about,” Aspen assures him.
“And why weren’t you with them?” he asks Aspen.
“I had my job back at home, and the two lovers wanted some privacy before I joined,” Aspen answers him.
“And what job do you do exactly? The human mate?” my brother asks him, I rolled my eyes at him, yes he’s human, get over it, we never care if someone is a wolf or human, he knows about us, it’s not like telling him a big secret.
“I own a couple of clubs, I do some side business, you know the usual,” Aspen answers, I had to hold back from rolling my eyes, yeah sure, mafia job, I know that I work with him too.
“And where do you live?” Jordan asks.
“We live in the city for now, but we’re moving in somewhere near here soon,” Aspen assure them, I was happy we were moving somewhere near here, the forest was calling to my other half.
“How did Eli become rogue?” he asks me this time, we’re back to being interrogated.
“I was raised by humans, it wasn’t my choice,” I answer him this time.
“I see,” the brother says, isn’t he done interrogating us?
“Are you done kitty? You can say congrats you know,” Ashlynn says having enough with him.
“Don’t call me kitty, just wait until Keiran have his chance, I swear he and Jacob are going to chew your two pretty mates a new hole,” kitty says with a big smile, he was right we are screwed, knowing what her brothers are, we’re dead.
“I just want to know, how did you two leave without any of my man seeing you?” the alpha, Micah, asks us.
“We’re really good at sneaking out,” I say with a slight smile.
“We could use someone like you two around here,” the alpha says making me smile, but making my daddy angry, he doesn’t like when I go behind his back.
After the very welcoming welcome we received in the alpha’s office we were allowed to go to our room to rest, Ashlynn was showering, and Aspen finally had the chance to scold me.
“You just be happy they didn’t beat us, or kill you!” he whisper yell at me.
“We’re the mafia, they don’t scare us,” I challenge him back, trying to sound tough.
“Shut it, don’t you dare tell her anything, we’re getting out of it,” he says, I was happy that we are getting off that job, but I don’t like keeping things from Ashlynn.
“Why not?” I whisper and yell at him.
“She’s an innocent girl, we don’t need to scare her,” he warns me, he’s right but I don’t want to hide things from her either.
