Ashlynn POV.
“Who’s that?” I ask my mate seeing a boat getting close and him sitting up, he looked worried now, the look of guilt is back on his face, there’s something coming, and that something isn’t good.
“That’s… that’s… someone I work with,” he says, but the words were lies, I could tell right away, I’m not stupid.
“Eli, who’s that? Don’t lie to me,” I say in a firm voice, I’m done playing the victim, I refuse to be the victim ever again, one time was more than enough, and I won’t do it again.
“Ashlynn, I just can’t tell you but I need you to trust me,” he begs me but how could I trust him? when he’s lying to me, keeping things hidden.
“You need to trust me too Eli, that includes telling me the truth,” I demand, the boat was closer to the island than ever, someone was coming down from the boat, and that someone is scarung my mate, my mate!
“I’m staying here, I’ll keep you safe,” I say in a firm voice, I’m not leaving.
“I’ll be safe, it’s just a human, you don’t need to be worried about me, but I need you to be safe,” he says pushing me away, but where is he pushing me, I looked at him confused.
“Go hide please,” he says, but I roll my eyes at him, I’m not hiding anywhere, I’m staying here with him, he’s the one who should be going to hide.
“I’m not leaving, damn it Eli, tell me who’s that! Or I swear to god, I’m going to attack whoever that is!” I warn him growling mad and angry.
“Don’t attack him Ashlynn! You can’t attack him!” he yells at me, can’t? I’m a dominant strong wolf, why is he worried, I can stand for myself
“Why can’t I attack him?” I repeat, him? Who’s him?
“You just can’t!” he yells at me, worried, looking back and forth to the person getting closer to us now.
“Who is that Eli! Don’t lie to me!” I yell back, just tell me who that is, I just want peace.
“That’s my daddy,” Eli finally confess, his daddy? And what does that make me? A secondary mate? A plaything? A toy?
“I hate you,” I say the words real slow, making sure he heard me, then I turned back, ready to go get the phone and call my siblings to come and get me, let it be a war, let my heart break to a million piece, I hate him.
“Ashlynn, just wait,” he begs with me, holding me back by the hand, I turned to him with anger, I slapped him on the cheek, hard, I would never hit Eliot, or any little, but this one, this cheater, he deserves it.
I kept on walking, I went back toward the house, I ignored the person who just came, I didn’t look at him, I don’t know who he is, I don’t care either, he’s my mate daddy, he’s the one he was talking with on the phone, the one he wants to spend time with not me.
When I made it to our room, except it wasn’t ours, it was his room, his and his daddy, I’m here as a toy, nothing more, why did I think I’ll ever be any more important, why would he care, of course he doesn’t care.
None of the things in this room was mine, none of the clothes, all of them are the one Eli got me, I’m an idiot for coming here, I moved to the office room, that’s where I saw the phone, I took the phone and called my brother, I called Kitty.
“Hello?” kitty answers me.
“Kitty, can you come get me?” I ask him with tears going down my face, I just want to leave.
“Get you? Of course baby, just tell me where you are, I’ll come get you right away,” he says to me.
“I… I don’t know where I’m… I’m on an island, and my mate got a daddy and he doesn’t want me,” I cry to the phone, my brother would know what to do.
“I’m going to kill him,” Jordan says through gritted teeth, I agree, he should kill him.
“I’ll call you back when I know where I’m,” I say, I don’t know where I’m, I have no idea how to tell him where I’m, Eli have to tell me where I’m.
“Okay, I’ll come get you,” Jordan answers me, I ended the call then, there was nothing else for us to talk about until I find a way out of her, but to do that, I had t go and find Eli and his daddy…
I left the office, searching through the house for him, where’s that traitor, probably making out with his daddy, should I wait for him to be done? I gave him everything, I trusted him, I felt the connection, I claimed him, but now I’m claimed by a traitor mate.
“Who’s she? You’re having an affair?” I heard a man voice yells, that must be Eli’s daddy.
“It’s not an affair, let me explain,” Eli begs with him, yes explain, but what would he explain?
“You leave me because you’re mad at me, only to go and find someone else!” the man yells again.
“I didn’t leave you, it’s… she’s something else,” he says, of course I’m something else, I’m his real mate, but he’s a cheater.
“I can’t believe you Eliot,” the man says yet again.
“I want to leave,” I say deciding to come in, ignoring the new man, keeping my eyes on my mate only, my cheater of a mate.
“Ashlynn, please, let me explain,” Eli begs with me, but I shake my head no, he can’t explain anything.
“The girl wants out Eliot,” the man says behind me, I don’t turn to him, waiting for his next move, would he help me out?
“Ashlynn, the only way out is the boat,” Eliot says, on the verge of tears, sounding and looking so small and broken, but he’s the one who broke me first, it’s okay if he feels some of my pain back.
“Then I want to leave,” I say again in a firm voice, I’m done being here.
“I’ll help you get out then,” the man says from behind me, only this time I turned to him, a human who’s willing to help, I didn’t believe him, but it’s the only option I have.
Our eyes met, mine and his green ones, I could see him, I could smell him, and finally I felt completed, it was the weirdest feeling ever, but it happened just then.
“Mine,” me and the stranger say at the same time.
