Ashlynn POV.
I went to the guest room, of course, I knew where it is, I always stay there when I come over, Jordy thinks he’s going to be free of me! Never! I threw my things in the room, and got ready for bed, I felt energized, I felt at peace with myself, after all that time of running, I could finally rest, I know I’m strong, why I’m scaring myself?
For once in a really long time, I fell asleep, I just need to recharge, and that’s what this place provides, I challenge Amber to come over here, and Kitty would eat her alive.
I woke up to someone jumping on top of me, I woke up slowly, I knew I wasn’t in danger, not in Micah and Jordan’s place, they are one of the strongest packs around, and nothing would hurt me except Micah’s weight.
“Get off, you’re crushing my bones,” I inform him, it’s funny and cute when I jump on top f Jordan, but Micah’s weight, which is made of eighty per cent muscles, is not so fun.
“Wakey, wakey, don’t you wanna watch them run?” he asks me making me groan.
“Micahhhhhhh, you’re their alpha, shouldn’t you be out with them?” I ask him.
“I’m the alpha, I’m taking a day off,” he tells me, making me groan, I’ve finally got some sleep and this is how life is paying me back!
“Can you get off me? Please?” I ask him trying to breathe, I didn’t come over here to sleep, I came to spend some time with the two of them.
“Ready to take over the world?” he asks me, sure, it’s what I’m here for, I just groan agreeing, waiting for him to get off me.
I got my bag, searched for clothes for the day, got my stuff, and moved to the bathroom, I needed a shower after yesterday driving for so long. I finished up, brushed my hair and got out of the room, searching for everyone else. When I couldn’t find them, I decided to use the old trick of standing on top of the stairs and yelling.
“Jordyyy! Micahhh!” I yell waiting for them to answer me.
“Kitchen,” Jordan answers me, I knew he’d answer me.
I moved down to the kitchen, seeing breakfast being served, I got myself a plate and then sat down to eat with the rest of them.
“How you been Ash? You dropped off the face of the earth for a while,” Micah asks me, he means back when I was with Amber.
“I was just off with some friends,” I lie.
“Have you met your mate or something and tried to hide it from us?” Jordan asks me making me go red, how did he even know.
“No, I didn’t Jordy, or I wouldn’t be here now, I’d be off with my daddy,” I answer him poking my tongue out at him.
“He’d need to spank that bum of yours, naughty-naughty,” Kitty tease me.
“I’m a good girl,” I assure them.
“Of course, she’s not,” Micah adds making the both of us giggle.
“What’s the plan for today?” Kitty asks us.
“Is it too late to see everyone shirtless?” I ask Micah.
“Never too late for that!” Micah tells me! Making me clap my hands happily.
“No, both of you behave!” Kitty scolds us, making me giggle, oh, did I miss him.
“Fine, I got a job to do,” Micah says with a groan.
“You need help?” I suggest I want to spend time with them.
“You can help me, I’m interviewing some wolves who want to join our pack,” Micah explains to me.
“I can join too?” I ask them, I didn’t want to leave my mother’s pack yet, but I’m messing with them.
“Keiran would beat my arse if I take you away from his pack,” Micah says with a groan, making me giggle, I’m sure Keiran won’t mind parting ways with me.
I wonder after I meet my mate, would he want me to move in with his pack? Or would he move in with us, is his pack a nice one? Or would we have to fight like my brother and his mate for their forbidden love. I was taken by my thoughts, by my ideas, thinking about my future mate, would I run away again when I find him? Would he scare me? Would he be nice?
“Ashlynn… Ashy… Ash,” Micah was calling me, I looked at him confused, what happened?
“Huh?” I ask him.
“I’m calling you, are you okay?” he asks me, I nod my head yes, I’m fine.
“Yeah, I’m okay, ready to get to work?” I ask him.
“Let’s go, we’ll use my office,” Micah says, holding my hand and leading me toward what I think is his office now, it was just the two of us now, sitting there.
“Can I ask you a question?” I ask Micah, thoughts were driving me crazy.
“Sure, what’s up?” he asks me.
“Why did you run when you first met my brother? I know he’s kind of scary and all that, but why did you run?” I ask him.
“You know the story, you know how my father is,” he answers me, I did know the story.
“But why not run away with Jordy, why not call Keiran, he’d start a war for you two, he’d start a war for any of us,” I say knowing my brother, mother, and everyone back home, I personally would fight for them two.
“It’s… I was kind of scared, I was scared of this new person coming into my life, him seeing the real me, my injuries, the way my father treated us, the fear I was living in,” he says, well that makes sense, maybe that’s why I ran too.
I’m afraid of my mate seeing the abuse I endured, even if it was for a short amount of time, Amber was controlling me, and the bruises on my body were gone, but the ones left mentally were still prominent, I didn’t know how to make those disappear.
The first person who came into the office was just a young woman, she said her current pack are abusing her, she even had injuries on her body, ones that her wolf didn’t have enough time to heal her from, I looked at Micah, I saw the pitty and compassion in his eyes, he wants to help her, but he won’t just take her in, he got to run a full background on her first. The person who walked in next had me freezing in place, it is a him, he looked at me, our eyes met, he was a blondie, blondie with hazel eyes and a big smile, he smiled at me before taking his seat facing Micah, I was ready to run again.
