Micah POV.
Running away, the idea came to my mind a million times before, but I never dared to run away, I always knew that my father is a lunatic, he’d skin me alive for doing that, but now that Jordan was here, now that I got a place to go to, I would do it, I would run away and never look back, I never wanted to be an alpha, I never felt like I could fit in as an alpha, the gods were correct, I’m really a submissive who’s trying to fit in as an alpha.
I trust my mate, I trust him enough to tell him about my memories, about how things went during my life in this pack, about how many times my father has kicked me out, about how much warmth he’s providing, I never felt this warm in my secret place, I was always alone around here, but now I’ve found my mate, my partner, my warmth.
Jordan woke me up early, he nodded toward the outside, it’s time to leave, I showed him how to leave my father’s territory, I could breathe in relief when we left it, we started to run away, the first step toward freedom, toward leaving my father rein, I’m going to be my own boss now, well Jordan would be my boss, but I don’t mind having him as my boss.
Jordan pushed me to the side all of the sudden, I didn’t understand why, but I moved as he pushed me, I kept running, it’s been a couple of hours, I’m starting to get tired, but I couldn’t stop running, I want to get as far away as possible. I kept moving until I heard Jordan growling, barking, I looked back at him to see him pinned down by three wolves, three massive wolves, I knew them, they smell like my old pack, I knew their growls were too familiar, they belong to my father’s pack. But that wasn’t enough, another one attacked him, this one was in human form, he covered Jordan’s face with a rag, Jordan’s fight and growl died down, he went limp. I howled and screamed in anger, growling at them, that’s my mate they are hurting, and I’d do anything to save him, I tried to attack them, to push them off him, but another wolf jumped on me pushing me down on the ground, they overpowered me, placing chains around my neck, dragging me back to my father’s territory, growling, screaming, in a humiliating way, alpha’s Balde favourite way to drag anyone back.
Jordan was carried back to the territory, we were both thrown under my father’s feet, I looked up at him with a growl, he can humiliate me, he could hurt me, but I’ll never allow him to hurt my mate, I growled at him in a challenging way, last time our eyes locked together, he tried to dominate me, and I tried to dominate him too, but the difference between us, I’m not near as strong as him, my wolf doesn’t have the strong aura he got, his is much darker, his is evil, my father was evil.
“Welcome home, Micah, you got me so worried about you,” my father says with a dark smile, I growl at him, he wasn’t worried.
“Oh, my sweet boy, why don’t you shift back so we can have a small chat?” he asks me, I would shift back, just to give him a piece of my mind, I shifted back to my human form, the chain still around my neck, pushing me down, I looked at my father with hate, with rage, with feeling buried so down in my soul, I only found the courage to say them after I’ve found Jordan, my strength.
“You’re a sadistic jerk! What do you want from me? Why don’t you let me go?” I ask him, why can’t he let me leave, he would never see me again.
“Leave! Leave!” Alpha Blade says the word with disgust, before he starts to laugh, a sarcastic laugh, one that lacked all humour, he looked back at me with his dark eyes, he looks like a feral wolf, he looks like he’s a rogue, but he’s still in charge, he still got some kind of power over the whole pack, he’s not just a rogue, he’s a rogue alpha.
“I’ll never let you leave Micah, you’re my son, my legacy, you’re going to learn how to take my place, even if I have to beat you into it, even if I have to break you a million time,” my father says, but I’ll never be a monster like him, I could never be anything like him, I’ll die before I do.
“I’ll never be like you, I’ll never turn into a monster!” I yell at him, I have my anchor, I have my mate to keep me in line, I’d die before I go rogue like him.
“Oh, but that could be arranged my sweet boy, now tell me Micah is it true?” he asks me, with dark glee in his eyes.
“Is what true?” I answer him, words leaving my mouth like venom.
“Is he your mate? Is that why you’ve been spending so long with him? Is that why you’re protecting him?” alpha Blade asks me, my eyes have betrayed me, he could tell he is, the way they went wide with shock, how does he know it.
“I told you alpha, little Micah is slutting around,” Joshua says from behind me, I turned to him, seeing my ex-friend, the one who should be helping me, but he betrayed me, he always did, I jumped to attack him, but the chains kept me in place, the chains constricted my movement.
“I’m going to kill you! I’m going to kill you all!” I yell, my father just claps in response.
“That’s the spirit after I get you rid of the said mate, you’d be ready to be my heir, the next alpha,” he says.
“You can’t touch him! I won’t allow you to!” I yell at him, Jordan was still out of it, whatever they gave him, knocked him cold.
“What would you do? Attack me?” he says with a dark laugh, the chains kept me in place, I couldn’t attack him, I couldn’t bite his head off.
“I’ll send his pretty head to his bitch mother, then I’ll take over that bitch’s territory,” alpha Blade announce, but I had to keep Jordan safe, he’s the alpha, and the only way to take down an alpha is to be one.
“I challenge you into an alpha competition!” I yell without a second thought, it’s the only way I could take him down, to take his place, by our laws he’s forced to accept my challenge, it’s his turn now.
