Micah POV.
I took the pain killer and laid down on Jordan’s chest, we didn’t care, nor did we think twice about sharing the bed together now, I was feeling safe now, a thing that I never had before, the pain killers did their work real quick. I stopped feeling the pain, my knee would be healing soon, I yawned, while Jordan played with my hair, it’s starting to gain more length now, dad wasn’t over my bum the whole time to keep it short, and I’ve always wanted to have longer hair.
“Daddy,” I mumble, he hums in response, he didn’t make a big deal out of me calling him so, it’s what I’m supposed to be calling him since we’re in this kind of relationship together now.
“How did you get the pain killers?” I ask him, he’s so good at finding things, things I didn’t know exist in this house place.
“I think your mother gave them to me,” Jordan says lost in his own thoughts, he’s thinking about something, my mother, I haven’t seen her in a while, she doesn’t leave her room much, as I grew up older and older, my mother faded more and more, she’s almost gone now, she’s just a ghost, a shell of her old self.
“My mother?” I ask him, why would my mother give him anything?
“When I told her the meds are for you, she gave them to me, but she… she said something weird,” he says still thinking about whatever my mother told him, she doesn’t talk much anymore.
“What did she say?” I ask him, I was curious to know what she said, but my eyes were starting to close on their own.
“She said to take good care of her baby,” Jordan says, but I knew he’s lying, my mother wouldn’t say so, my mother doesn’t care about me, no one ever cares about me, not even her.
Sleep took over, I didn’t have any dreams, not good ones, nor bad ones, I just slept, I was engulfed by my mate’s scent, hearing his heartbeat, my wolf was in peace, helping me heal, by the time I woke up, my injury was mostly healed, the pain was hardly there.
“The pain is gone,” I tell Jordan waking up, he was still holding me, making me smile, I cuddled closer to him, my face buried in his neck, I was a needy baby now, but I was injured I had every right to be.
“Can I see?” I asked him meaning the bite on his thigh, there was a blanket covering us now, although the house was as cold as ever, I felt so warm right now.
“I’m okay baby,” he assures me, but I wanted to see his injury to make sure.
“I want to see,” I say again, wanting to see the injury, he pulled down the blanket showing me his thigh, it wasn’t as bad, but it’s not fully healed yet, I could see the teeth marks still there.
“You need the pain killer, and some sleep,” I tell him, but he only shakes his head no, but I knew he needs it, I slipped out of the bed, he didn’t want to let me go, but I wiggled out of his hold. I took the empty glass and moved toward the bathroom, I could walk easily now, I got him a new full glass.
“Drink,” I order him trying to sound firm, it’s my turn to hold him while he sleeps, he agrees and takes the pill along with the glass of water.
I took his place behind him, holding his head close to my chest, playing with his hair until he fell asleep in my arms, I played with his hair, with his soft blond hair, longer than mine, but not too long, just perfect. Joshua’s weight on my chest was a bit heavy, but I didn’t want to push him, I didn’t mind his weight, and I didn’t dare to move for fear of disturbing his sleep.
I heard the door to his room open, it happened so slowly, but my ears twerked up, listening up to the danger coming inside the room, I’m supposed to protect him, the person who opened the door and came in was bruised, the bruise on his face was new, he had a tight shirt on, with a bandage around his torso, one I could see underneath.
“What do you want Joshua?” I ask with a growl, Jordan was right, I should see the other guy now, and Jordan is right he’s in a much worse shape.
“I see, you’ve sold me for this new guy,” Joshua says sounding hurt, but it’s fake hurt, he’s lying, he’s a good liar, always been one.
“We were never a thing Joshua,” I say annoyed with him, looking down at Jordan, he’s still asleep, I don’t want him to hear this.
“But it didn’t feel that way holding you,” he says making me growl, he’s making things up now.
“Stop making things up!” I say, he’s trying to gaslight me.
“Why? You don’t want him to hear about your old love stories?” he says with a smile, he’s doing this on purpose.
“You better get lost, before I finish what I’ve started,” Jordan growls waking up, he pushed me behind him, hiding my body from Joshua.
“Oh, so worried about your little whore?” Joshua says, making tears swell up my eyes, I’m not a whore! I never was one!
“I said leave,” Jordan, growls again, finally kicking the guy out of his room, he turned to me with a questioning eye.
“What did he mean?” Jordan asks me, sounding possessive, jealous, and a tiny bit angry.
“Promise not to get angry,” I beg with him, he only nods his head, yes, but Jordan needs to know the whole story, the real me.
“Growing up, me and Joshua were best friends, he was my first crush…” I say turning red just thinking about it now, he’s not anything to me anymore, but my statement made Jordan growl.
“When I told him…” I say gulping remembering all the feelings I went through, remembering how he made me believe he did too.
“He… he told me he did too,” I say but it wasn’t the only thing he did, he made me believe he did.
“Have he touched you?” Jordan growled in response, I shook my head no, he tried but I never allowed him not with how dad is.
“Ever?” Jordan growls again, I shook my head no again.
“He… he made me believe he did too, until… until… I saw him with two other people, they were… you know,” I say blushing I saw him having sex with two people instead of one.
“Then?” Jordan asks.
“When I comforted him, he laughed at me, at believing I’d be anything to him,” I tell Jordan.
“He’d die, for trying to hurt you, he’s dead,” Jordan promises me.
