Jordan POV.
Another turn with the drills, I was ready to go back on, I want to stay on good terms with the alpha, I don’t want to fight with him, I needed to be able to take Micah back home with me, when I saw Joshua touching him, I had to pull myself, hold myself and not jump and bite his head off, I was ready to kill him.
I saw my mate suffer, going up and down the cold ground, I could see his lips going blue, his nose going red, he’s freezing, all I wanted to do was hold him and make sure he’s warm now. I had to be settle, standing behind him, I didn’t care about my injuries, or how much the cold was making them ache.
We held hands while we did the tire obstacle, making sure he was fine, his hands were freezing cold, I wanted to hold them both, kiss them until he feels warm again. I would never allow my little one to go out without a proper jacket, but here he is, standing naked in the cold, having to run some more drills. But then we had to pull apart, each going on our balance log, I was focusing on not falling, the log was filled with ice, we were the first to go, the ice was still filling the log, I was at the end, almost done with this torture when I heard the noise of a fall, followed by a crushing noise, I knew this wasn’t good, I turned to see Micah on the floor, I panicked, my baby was on the floor, I ran toward him, seeing his leg in an odd angle, all I could think about was taking him toward the closest hospital, but I had no idea where the nearest hospital is.
He was screaming and crying in pain, when his father, alpha Blade got closer to us, I thought he’d call a doctor or something, instead, he simply fixed the leg, twisting it back to the original position, I stood in shock, he did what a doctor is supposed to do when Micah screamed, my heart skipped a few beats, this isn’t good, I couldn’t take his screams, I moved toward him picking him off the ground, ignoring the alpha and his glares, Micah needs me now, I won’t leave him out while he’s in pain.
“Where are you two going?” the alpha asks me, Micah’s eyes were closed, he looked like he was in too much pain to even open his eyes, I held him closer to my chest, hoping my warmth could slip to him.
“He’s hurt and in pain, we’re going in,” I growl at the alpha, not caring anymore, he could bite me in the ass for all I care, I’ll take Micah and run back home, I’ll keep him safe, we won’t live in fear from him.
“Boy…” the alpha starts, my eyes went to my wolf eyes, my wolf wants to kill him, to hurt him, to do some kind of damage to him.
“Alpha, the leg would need some time to heal, the boy is only using it as a lie to slip away,” Joshua says, I growled at him, I wanted to kill him now, but the boy I was holding in my arms, squeezed my arm, I looked down in my arms seeing Micah shaking his head no, fine not right now, he needs more. I ignored the alpha and the bum-kisser, I walked in the house holding him, I didn’t go to his room, I wouldn’t even call it a room, it’s more of a fancy broom closet.
The damn freezing house, I kept walking toward the bathroom, turning the hot water on, waiting for it to heat up, it’s made in a way that you’ll be done with your shower before it even gets warm, another of the alpha tricks, I’m sure.
As the water was heating up, I slipped Micah’s pants off, going slowly, being careful not to hurt his injured knee, I took my own pants off, both of us staying in our boxers, those would be off but later, I don’t want to push him, or take advantage of him while being sick or hurt. I helped him stand underneath the water with me holding him, pulling his weight off his injured leg, finally finding warmth under the hot water.
“Does it hurt too much?” I ask him, his eyes were still closed, he haven’t said a thing since we got in, he only nod his head yes, of course, it hurt, he got his leg broken and fixed in a brutal way, there was no hospital or pain medication given to him.
“I’m sorry baby, I’m sorry I couldn’t keep you safe,” I say, staying here is ruining us, we need to leave soon, I don’t think I’ll be able to take this training, I didn’t care about me, but seeing Micah hurt, that’s where I draw my lines, I can’t let my mate get hurt.
“It wasn’t you,” Micah whispered, his eyes still closed, his voice low, his whole body still shaking from the cold.
“I should have done a better job keeping you safe,” I say, my hands going toward his hair, petting them.
“I was clumsy, I fell, you did keep me safe,” Micah says, finally opening his eyes, meeting mine, his were filled with pain and unshed tears.
“Let’s get out, the water is getting cold,” I say turning the water off, I got two towels wrapping one around me, the second around Micah, petting him dry.
We both left the bathroom, I got my thickest hoodie, putting over Micha’s head, handed him clean pants, and looked away letting him get dressed on his own while I got dressed too.
“Let me find something for the pain,” I say, I had nothing in my bag or things, I left my room going on the search for some kind of a pain killer, or anything to help him out, no one was in the house, everyone was outside practising, I hoped I could find some kind of meds, anything, or even a beer that would help him feel a bit better.
I was searching in the kitchen, when I heard a voice behind me, I turned to see a woman, she looks just like Micah, I don’t remember seeing her, not since I came over, but she’s similar to him enough to be his mother.
“What do you want?” she asks me sounding annoyed.
“A pain killer,” I say honestly still taken by the similarity between them.
“You don’t look in pain,” she says, I wasn’t.
“It’s for Micah,” I say, at the mention of Micah’s name her face fell a little, she pushed me away getting some painkillers hidden in a cookie jar, this is a weird pack.
“If you care about him, take him and leave,” the lady says leaving the kitchen, she looks like a ghost, she moves like a ghost, she looks like she lost her light a long time ago.
“Thank you…” I mumble after she left.
