Of all things necessary at that moment to get herself worried about one thing seemed most paramount and that was fixing whatever this was with Christian.
That morning she had woken up still feeling startled about the talk the night before, she was still trying all she could to get her mind together to the fact that perhaps this was a dream that she might never realize, still at that moment , she let all the thought sink in.
It was another lovely fall day. As usual he was having his morning running as it seemed regular for him to do such nowadays.
The trees had a hint of being filled with the prowess of nature but even as the sky was a bright clear blue. Heat from the rising sun was burning off the morning mist when she had pulled herself to look.
“You can come in.”She spoke calmly when she saw the maid lurking at the corner.
Timidly she made her way in. She had called for the maid earlier and seen this as a perfect time to ask her questions.
“You called for me ma’am.”She grimaced.
One could tell that she was faced with fear, anxiety or whatever.
At that minute the first thing she did was try settling the situation, there were a lot more at that second but it seemed quite uncertain that she had a lot to fix as well, and it all started off with having to get into this talk.
“You do know well that I like you that way why I had you brought here.”Antonia asked.
The maid still swirled q smile low to the ground giving a hint of her loyalty.
“Yes ma’am.”
“So you’d do everything I say?”
The maid looked up at her, her eyes held this bit of inquisitive glee to it, that was so difficult to get rid of-
Antonia knew this game quite alright, it wasn’t the first time she’d try playing it but if anything was clear it was the fact that she could get on with that feeling of deceit, she had to do this!
She swallowed the lump behind her throat when it was certain that she had her attention, she needed to let her understand everything that was going on and how it held so much importance.
At that moment, if there was anything that she wanted to get her mind off of at that moment, it most definitely had to be the way she saw through these things.
She knew every square inch of her heart wanted him to herself and though it was a long shot she had to do it, she had to try.
It took a bit of courage for her to find the words. Closing her eyes, she visualized him returning home and counted the minute prior to his return.
She could tell that the maid was still right there waiting for her to speak, probably pondering about the entire situation through her mind over and over again.
Much as she wanted to have a rethink about the entire situation, it left a feeling of uncertainty deep in her Soul made more serious by the fact that she was yet to get a reply.
“I need you to keep an eye on my husband, he is acting Funny these days and you know…”she mutters.
Christian was right there at the door when she turned to look and for Some reason she was glad she didn’t say too much.
.
Inhaling deeply, she let the fresh, crisp air invade her lungs and energize her body, the maid walked out timidly as he walked in.
“What were you two so serious ?”He questioned.
“Girls talk.”
It was all she could give away and she hopes he isn’t able to read between the lines.
If Christian thought anything he kept it to himself, still he was certain of one thing -whatever this was he’d get to the root.

In a way later than he had thought he’d be, she began to move around restlessly, acting as though she was worried about something.
He had thought about going to meet her but kept the entire situation to himself till the right moment.
She glanced towards the terrace that evening out to the vast horizon when he came closer to her.
How much longer would she be this way?
As a man , he knew his time would not always be his own, yet regardless he had to check in on her.
He knew that he had to see her and it was exactly what he did, he made way to where she was while still trying to fix the things that were at the back of his mind.
Not having these memories doesn’t mean she had to be by herself , or that her time must be spent waiting, doing nothing?
it took a while to be aware of his presence as She stared deep into the sinking sun like it was beckoning to her.
Did she dare go ahead with her plan?
She had later met with the maid and expressly forbidden her to say anything to him, she had painted out reasons and now she was right here still confused.
“Good evening.”A voice spoke behind her and she jumped. Spinning around, she saw
him standing a few feet away. The sun though finding its way out waa shining on him, giving his face a glow.
“A penny for your thoughts.”
He smiled and it held ember’s of how beautiful things used to be, she couldn’t get herself to turn away from the fact that he looked so beautiful that she wouldn’t turn away from him.
“Chris!”Her heart leapt with anxiety and she was about to get closer to him only to have him take a few steps back when she was a foot away.
His movement brought her headlong rush to an
immediate stop.”Chris? What’s the matter?”
“What do you mean, what’s the matter? You know what the problem is.”
“No, I don’t.”She shook her head puzzled at the situation..
“Who is Laura, I keep asking about her and you act like you’ve not heard me.”He swallowed.”Just saw her again in my dreams. He sounded bitter, with a frown marrying his face.
His words cut through her and she couldn’t think about what to say about the situation, he was right that was the fucking reason she was out here.
How could he be so cruel?
She thought taking him away would create a glitch but still her memories remained steadfast in his soul.
“It is just a dream.”She grimaced
He seemed to be waging some thoughts deep in his soul and she could tell from his chest thudding heavy beats, he breathed deeply, the scowl fading away leaving sorrow in its wake.
“I am sorry I overreacted.
“I know how hard it is .”She took a step closer and laid her hand on his arm.”I’d hoped you would find your sanity back.”she took his hand in hers.
He turned and looked at her, his gaze drifting over her face-
He was done fighting, he reached out and stroked her cheek, his focus settling on her lips.
