CHAPTER 91

Book:I Have Your Sons, Mr. CEO Published:2024-9-2

Laura opens the door and right there was person she was expecting to see, she didn’t know how she was going to react to finding her at the door looking all wasted and almost drunk, not one look at her and it was easy to say that she would be saving a damsel IN distress..
For some reason she is glad that the twins were asleep and wouldn’t have to see this, so she stalled at the door for a minute before letting her in.
“Thank you so much Laura, I had no choice …”she was quick to point out almost immediately.
They made their way into the room and she settled right there on the chair, it was the most certainly the most complicated situation anyone of them had been in with both uncertain about what the true indication was.
For Laura it was helping her own, for Antonia it was coming to her enemy for help.
“these is none of my business but look at what you are doing to yourself. Laura was quick to point out as she handed her a cup of drink- water apparently.
With shaky hands she took the cup from her, attention was drawn out qs he appeared to be worried about if Christian could find the car outside the window.
“I just had to.”She sighed.
She looks confused. If she didn’t know this she would have felt deep empathy for her but she did, and it was the reason she was worried.
Christian washer perfect after all, neither was she… As a matter of fact she was starting to feel that sense of guilt.
She hated the that they had fucked a fortnight ago and tried putting herself in the woman shoes.
“Do you need help?”Laura asked, this time she felt the need to.
There was a deeper need to reach out to this woman more than she had, in a way it left her feeling rather confused and desolated, she had to do something, say something and to be honest this felt like the best moment.
“Do you need to speak with someone?”
She looked up at Laura immediately when she heard that word, she had been asked countlessly that she did this and that and to be honest she was starting to hate it.
“No… I am not speaking to anyone, I just want things back to the way it was . I am not broken.”She gave a hutter laughter.
Laura could see that she was drunk and could point it out to the woman being confused as well.
She felt the need to reach out to her regardless of what she felt at that moment, she didn’t know why but it left her with that sense of responsibility probably because she was at fault.
The more she thought about this, the more confused she was enough that she didn’t see herself getting out of all of these, it was the most complicated thing that could ever happen.
Tonia might not have said it, but her discretion did- when she had talked about things getting back to normal, it most definitely had to do with finding that piece of warmth again.
She wanted her gone out of this space and it made things more complicated than it already was, she couldn’t just get her mind out of it but it was there.
“Fuck.”She looked up from the table and appeared shocked at something that was hard for Laura to figure out at the moment.
Laura looked at her, still perplexed.”What is it?”
Tonia looked up and she could see the worries In her eyes.
“Must had left my drugs at the table in the other wing, can you… ”
“No way I am not doing that.”She said at first.
“Arrrg! Fine I will get it.”She muttered.
********
She walked discreetly as she made her way out, her eyes darting around till she stopped right where it should be.
“This should be easy.”She spoke to herself.
Her thoughts were heavy and she was insane at that moment that she had agreed to all of these.
While all of these were going through the back of her mind, she was shocked and filled with uncertainty as that bit of lungful of air escaped her.
She had been at it for more than twenty minutes and there was no sign for drugs.
Apparently there was one more place to check, she took in a deep breath aware that all of these were an even more severe risk.
She dragged that last bit of air in her lungs, this time she didn’t try to stop herself, she walked slowly to where she thought it might be.
Being closer to his study made her heart beat fast but she tells herself that she could do these moreover she wasn’t doing anything bad by the way.
“What are you looking for.”A deep masculine voice called from behind..
She turned and could had almost bumped into him, she was confused at this gesture unsure if what to do
If she had been walking so fast she would have fallen on the floor, but Instead when it looked like she would have fallen an arm wrapped around her waist as she teetered
backward and steadied her.
In a a way she would have wanted it to remain that way, she loved that feel as it was an incredibly warm and heavy arm, but Tonia could be watching, who knows this could be a trap
“Jesus,”she muttered with annoyance.”You scared me.”
He was still looking at her and she averted his gaze, she didn’t know what to do about all the feeling that was creeping through her soul at the moment and the more she stood right there with that feeling of uncertainty, the more she was filled with that need to do something.
“What are you looking for? “The question came again.
She noticed the look of uncertainty in his eyes almost like he could tell what they were about from just a glance.
The feeling made her stomach tightened as it pressed against his. The contact made her owner aware of the moment and not just that every bit of tingle everywhere, but she didn’t have time to analyze the feeling more.
She knew that there was a need for her to get over this, she had to stay away from this man in the most definite way possible.
She spun out of his hands and watched Nas he backed away , both looking at themselves.
There was a feeling of tension hanging in the air and the best way she could deal with it was for her to stare clearer away from him, she had to get away from him as fast as she could.
“I am looking for something, shouldn’t you be sleeping?”
She looked up at him and suddenly and surprisingly glad he hadn’t asked too much of a question.
She could still feel that burning sensation remaining around her waist, and could feel as her heartbeat ricocheted deep in her chest, she didn’t know how to handle all of the drama that was happening even as her heart fluttered from the impact and the worry creeping in.
“Did you have an idea that you are on my side of the building?”
“Well, I should’ve.”She took a drag of air.”I should’ve told you.”
“Should have,”was all he said before he looked at her again.
She found the pills earlier and was holding it in her hands, it was the last thing she had picked up just before turning to him.
“Tonia wouldn’t be happy seeing you here with me, she is asleep isn’t she? ”she asked.
Immediately she felt silly, now it looked like she was hiding something -she hoped that he wouldn’t find out what it was.
She inhaled in relief, but it was short-lived when he got even Closer, she could see that fierce look In His eyes now.
“You’ve been drinking Chris.”She mutters surprised at how it took her a long time to notice.
She should leave not that she could, she thought but still he wanted to listen to this man, she wanted to know why he was that way.
He was bare-chested and he towered over her, she could feel that look in his eyes that gave a lot of this away but not what he thought in his heart.
Stunned that she should bring up that topic about Tonia, showed they were up to something.
He might have been drinking but as soon as his thoughts sank in, he could tell what was best for that moment.
He felt the need to ask her fucking question and he had to now, not later but now .
The look his eyes gave was most definitely one of uncertainty.
“Talking about Tonia, do you know where she is? “He questioned.
She was out off by his question as she stood in silence.
Should she tell a fucking lie?
