CHAPTER 76

Book:I Have Your Sons, Mr. CEO Published:2024-9-2

This felt like the most complicating situation he could ever find himself at that moment, with the time passing he thought of what more to do-
He was so far lost in himself that it didn’t cross his mind that dinner had passed, he was certain that Tonia was going to get all dramatic especially with the fact that she was all confused about what to do.
Time had passed, when he was finally able to get himself to walk outside as he did, he could still feel the need for him to pacify everything that seemed to be going on at that moment.
As he stepped out of his study, he hoped to himself that all of this turned out right he made way toward the dinning slowly.
At the table dinner was ready, Chris still hadn’t appeared. At this point she was definitely feeling abandoned. Her thought went to the fact that he could be with Laura and that would be coming after he had promised not to get into anything to do with her.
She shook her head in exasperation.”Eve, would you go get him to the table?”She spoke calmly to the maid who left afterwards.
Knowing him, he was always eso involved in what he was doing and Id what she thought was true She was very certain that he would take a while before stepping out..
“I am here already.”He spoke feminine corner of the room.
Embarrassed, she shrugged and looked away.
“Well I thought you’d probably forget about dinner or you and we having it with them.”
He rolled his eyes, the last thing he wanted was to get into an argument and it looked imminent.
“It’s ridiculous the way you think, I just got caught… “he sighed.
Tonia pursed her lips and shook her head.
“It’s all right.”she tried to smooth things over.
The freedom with which she was expressing her feelings off late came off a bit more tense and for Christian love her or not he felt like he might snap at any moment.
Any other man of his caliber would never have tolerated that. Of course, she knew how much he loved her, so perhaps that explained things.
Dinner went with a bit of silence more because she was quiet expecting that he would say something that he wasn’t in the mood to.
He was quick to leave after the meal ended, at this moment he was starting more to the entire situation of things, could it be that he had made a grievous idea except Laura, He thought himself as the entire situation was turning out to be a bad idea. Epically bad. But he couldn’t seem to stop himself- He was so bent on fixing whatever this was.
He would speak to his lawyers, talking about lawyers, his mind went again to what Laura had said about the entire situation.
He’d gotten so much shit from both women who looked to be jealous enough that he thought leaving to cool his head would be the right thing.
All of this was happening because he’d been bugging him after what she had heard, he ditched jogging and called up Damien
“Are you free?”
After a bit of back and forth was able to get him to join him, He couldn’t bring himself to regret wanting to take sides, not if recently he was seeing different sides from the women he’d never seen before. It was his own fault, for being such a dick and refusing to do what was expected but still –
He sighed as he drove off, his mind clinging .
to h we r every word, every action, had rung with sincerity last night. He would have heard a hint of anger in her voice, and he hadn’t.
What he had heard was suspicion of anxiety and hurt over the things that were happening, perhaps jealousy. The old Laura wouldn’t have given two shits about anything he did or said but guess things were different as they were.
.
That was all he really needed to know. So he couldn’t fathom this need he had to be with her
Again, he couldn’t deny that the feeling of what it would feel to hold her in his hands again was right there in his mind but it was only a flicker of his imagination.
He exhaled heavily. He was so full of shit. He wanted to know all of that, yes, wanted to-
The need to know filled his soul with an intensity that was a little surprising. But he couldn’t deny that he wanted to spend more time with her because he wanted her.
He wanted to see her and everything that came with her, he wanted the kid’s and the moment that she might deny him left him feeling sad -Knowing he was the cause.
He wanted to make her laugh, he wanted her
eyes lit up with amusement and happiness, he wanted to fulfill everything, to see her desire evoked in her.
Yet he couldn’t have her.
He made a stop in front of the pub.
*********
Back at home Laura was getting ready to leave, as usual Riley would be there as usual under strict instructions not to let them into the other wings.
Her phone kept buzzing and she ignores
her ringing phone. She was sure it was Rian who was nagging her about getting late to dinner.
The truth has been she had been trying to avoid him for funny reasons, she pretended to be sick last week to get out of it, but she wasn’t sure that excuse would go twice though she was still tempted to try, though.
“How do I look?* She asks Riley’s who was just coming in.
She had on jeans, and a thin colored shirt, Riley looks at her boss and whistles.
“You’d wake up the boys.”She giggled.
Her makeup was minimal and her long hair was done in a way that made her look beautiful.
“Are you sure about going to see Rian? I can’t see Mr Chris ‘ car at the lot.”
“Common, I am going to see Rian, I know nothing about Chris and don’t care.”
She put on her heels, as s he made her way to the door, grabbing a purse and her keys, she turned and instructed her.
“Don’t let the boys out of your sight.”
Anxiety propelled her forward. She’d been holed up for a week and Was only leaving the house for work and just that, tonight felt like fun
As she made her way outside , she looked and caught Tonia looking, both women locked stares before she got in.
