CHAPTER 52

Book:I Have Your Sons, Mr. CEO Published:2024-9-2

There must definitely be a reason for the call but the reason was at that moment he couldn’t tell at least not till he would arrive.
Driving out through the secluded road he tries all he could to put his sanity in check, right there in his mind were the most thriving things he could think about everything ending with the thought of Antonia, in a way he thought himself silly for his antics.
A part of his mind told him it would have been better if he had just come off with the truth about how things were, still he wouldn’t blame himself he thought he was doing what was right and this at the moment didn’t seem to be.
“I will soon be there!”He spoke a bit irritated this time to the caller who was apparently Laura.
In a way he thought she was all out tormenting his soul at least that was what it looked like if she was to get a clearer perspective of It.
It was the tenth time she had called since all of this, and already he was getting worried about the true reason for her call..
When finally his car pulled up into the driveway he let out a deep sigh. He took a deep sigh as he turned the ignition off, he was about to find out.
*****
Laura couldn’t get her mind off it either apparently, was this set up or something?
Being her first thoughts as she walked in, she was quick to call him again to check on Riley she had just called back from the party.
“Are you there?”Riley had asked. In a way she wanted to know what could be going up as well.
All Laura did was sigh deeply, somewhat she could tell this was all an agenda set up by her mother, she could see the glee in the woman’s eye.
“I will be fine, just take care of the boys.”She hangs up before Riley could ask any more questions, she didn’t want her prying too deep.
A purring noise from a trailing engine filled the room and immediately she knew he was here.
Though she didn’t think it would be that way at first, she could sense her heart beating wildly as it should.
“He is here … “her mother was a bit excited.
She turned and watched him walk in as soon as there eyes met she could tell immediately he wasn’t going to like any of this –
********
It was right there In his eyes every bit of the questions to. be asked, immediately he had walked in, they had kept their greetings cordial.
He breathes out heavily, and as her mother leads them into the study claiming it was for more privacy, privacy!?
The word rang out in Christian’s mind as he wondered what they would be needing that bit of privacy for, he found himself asking even as they made their way inside.
“Do you know what all of this is about?”He questioned.
He has had that need to know but like him she was oblivious as well or acted so.
“I am sure you two have talked about this?”Laura’s mother spoke quietly as they walked in, giving the entire privacy thingy a darker meaning.
Christian relents with a begrudged
motion, he seemed stunned not knowing what to reply with, he flashes Laura an amused glare before the doors shut .
The latter was either too good an actress or was in the blue like he was, Laura doesn’t waste time pleading her case, soon after her mother shut the door to go get her father she walks over and herself to him.
“I know nothing about this.”She muttered.”I swear I was. working before I was called in.”
He sighs in relief, his hands tangled in his hair, tugging at his incredible length as he tugged at it.”It is fine.”he murmurs against her as she pulls back to see the sting in his eyes from the thousands of questions being asked.
Her father walked in and soon the entire questions and answers started…
These Went on for hours the bone on contention settled on why the whole marriage thing was stuck-
“Are you both not reading the papers?”He asked.
As though it lay claim to what he was saying he walked away and soon returned with three papers that he banged right there on the table.
“Read those.”
Christian sat right there at the table, the hurt in his tone was undeniable and heartbreaking, and he slowly spoke.
“Done all what you asked for.”He muttered.”You asked that I marry her and I did, I have someone at home too that needs my attention.”
She couldn’t get her mind round what was happening and felt terribly embarrassed, she was sure christian hated her by now.
“You two were supposed to discuss this with me before anything, now I don’t know how we would go ahead with any of this.”She muttered.
She looked back at Christian.”I promise you I had no idea this is all that was going to be discussed, I was called right here as well.”She looked back down to where her feet touched the floor and could see that it was trembling from the anxiety that was racing through her.
Christian shook his head, whole body tingling with uncertainty.
“I don’t know, but I can’t do this now…I don’t even know what you guys want in the first place…To get back the children, do you want me to take custody of them?”
He turned to Laura.”Why are they not saying anything?”
His lips tighten, and he pulls up his hand on his face.
“I think I’d better take my leave… it is better than having to sit here for so long and yet nothing is being said.”He muttered.
He tilted his head, and could see the red on Laura’s face… He would have laid claim to her being annoyed as well, but avoiding her questioning eyes he stared Straight the people who under ordinary circumstances would have been his inlaw.
Her mother glares at his contact, but he simply ignores hee as he tugs at the edge of the sofa losing his patience.
He doesn’t give a hint of the fire burning in his soul though this voice had memories of them and was heavily laced with them, it was as though they were waiting, waiting for him to be done.
.
“What the hell do you think you’re-“was her father’s voice and it stunned everyone in the room as he had been the quiet one all evening.
“Just drop it, dear,”her mother interrupts.”Let’s focus on the problem.”
“No I can’t have my daughter get children for him and he’d treat her that way.”
Staring at her father in disbelief, her body floods with both anxiety and apprehension, it turned out she was the one caught in the middle of all this afterall, she was the one in the middle of all this madness, all this fa? ade.
“Start at the beginning, and then tell me why we are here amidst all of this turmoil, that is all we want to know.”Laura threw restrained sobs while throwing my arms around.
She did many crazy things when confused and angry both and at this moment, trickles if tears had started pouring out with their heated flow.
Her mother held her arms softly.”We just need new things to be better, we want you two to move in together.”
“Shh. It’s okay, Laura . It’s okay. I’m here.”
“But why would -”
Before she can ask there was a loud thudding reaction from the other end, apparently Christian had enough of the entire madness and had tried to walk through the door banging it in the process, she jumps in reaction, and Mom’s grip becomes protective before letting her go .
“Love”she whispers warily, looking to get father for answers about what was happening.”You spoke too rudely to the man.”
“I will speak in whatever way.”He muttered.
He doesn’t have to bend to anyone, not even a man like Christian, The slightly open door gives them the chance to see what was going on outside.
Outside her heart pound heavily in her chest as she made way to the man that was standing in the other end, she is thankful he couldn’t see through her fear as well when she approaches him, are you aware of this as well.
He was referring to her father who is spewing profanities-
Her body is tensed up at the moment, and it was fact that after so much time had passed she still reacted to him in such, she had this nudge
physically to just his presence.
“Since when can’t you read between the line to tell what your parents are trying to do is impossible.”He muttered before walking to close the door, apparently noticing it.
Laura cocks her eyebrow questioningly when she feels my reaction to his mere voice, and refrain from rolling her eyes.
“You can think about this, this is bad for me too, you know… Rian is not happy and all, I even had a fight with him right before coming.”She says dismissively, seeming too scared to admit.
“I know we can clear all of this, why not just speak with them.”He tells her just as he was about leaving.
“Let me talk to them and clear up the bullshit you’ve stuck in her head.”he says with a haughty grin and a shrug.
“Been there. Tried that. They won’t answer.”Laura assured him
“What then can we do?”
