“Are you dumb or what?” Alan chuckled and the dumbness of this woman in front of him. Kylie frowned at him. She was in no mood to entertain him, that was his job.
“What are you laughing at?” she asked crossing her hands in front of her.
“Of course, I am laughing at you fool. I am in the top ten most handsome men on the Forbes list. Girls are crazy for me. They can willingly give away their lives just to see a glance of me. Whereas you, you asked me if I was short on money because I asked you out for dinner?” he said with astonishment in his voice.
“I have never seen such a self-centered man like you,” Kylie rolled her eyes then continued, “I know you are one of the most handsome men but I have seen better. As for the fact of having dinner with you, that I will think about and let you know,” she said and was ready to see him out but the man was stubborn.
“Kylie Johnson, though you are just a mere secretary you have guts. And I like it. Now I am even more certain to have dinner with you. And I wouldn’t hear ‘NO’ as an answer. Remember I saved your life? So think of it as a life debt,” he winked at her and stood up. But Kylie was fuming with anger. What did he think of himself? Yes, she was a fan who admired his work but she wasn’t like those girls who swoon over male celebrities.
“I said I will think about it. So stop being stubborn,” she couldn’t help but spit. But Alan was unmoved, instead, he felt more curious about this woman. He never saw Sebastian to be so protective of any woman before. So Kylie picked his interest the moment he noticed the feeling of longing in Sebastian’s eyes for her.
“I will text you the location and time, Bye angry bird,” giving her a flying kiss he left her cabin.
Kylie suddenly felt light-hearted. Though it was unexpected but her mood lifted after the visit from Alan. The corner of her lips curled up subconsciously. She concentrated on her work afterward.
Outside Star Media Corporation, Alan sat silently in his car indulging in deep thought.
“Sir, didn’t Mr. Smith ask you to stay away from Miss Johnson? Though she’s beautiful, still she isn’t your type and worth your time or friendship with Mr. Smith,” said Alan’s Assistant from the driver’s seat.
“I am intrigued to know her more. She reminds me of someone very close to me. Her face is very similar to someone I knew,” Alan replied looking at the tall building in front of him then sighed.
“Book me a table tonight and do some background check. Specially I want to know every detail of her childhood and parents,” Alan ordered. They nodded at him and then started the car.
……..
It was a busy day for Kylie since Sebastian wasn’t in the office and Paul also followed him so she had to handle most of the paperwork and reschedule his appointments. By the time she left the office, it was nearly 6. She gave a glance at the empty office of Cindy who was on sick leave and walked inside the elevator. Thinking about Cindy she smiled in her mind. If only she knew that Alan visited their office, she would be cursing herself to death for being sick on this day. Kylie left the elevator with a sweet smile lingering on her lips.
“You should smile more often. You look beautiful,” she heard a familiar voice. Turning her head to the source of the voice, Kylie saw Alan leaning stylishly against his sports car.
“Are you talking to me?” Kylie asked raising her brows. What was he doing here? she thought in her mind.
“Stop scowling, of course, I was talking to you. Who else do you think I know here?” he said with a scoff.
“What are you doing here at this time?” Kylie asked walking near him. She was afraid if other people saw their interactions, they might misunderstand.
“I am waiting here for you. Have you forgotten about our dinner date?” he said the dinner date part a bit louder attracting the attention of a few office staff who were passing through there.
“Ssshhh, have you gone crazy? Why are you shouting? Moreover, when did I agree to your dinner plan? And why it is a dinner date instead of a treat?” Kylie said impatiently looking at the prying eyes of her colleagues. Alan was amused. This was the first time he got scolded by a beauty. Usually, it’s him who scolds girls to get rid of them.
“I am a man and you are a woman,” Alan paused only to get a mocking laugh from Kylie.
“Great discovery. So what’s the point of this?” Kylie said rolling her eyes.
“So when a man takes a beautiful woman on dinner it’s usually called a date. So stop whining and get on the car. Don’t forget you owe me,”: Alan said with a smirk. Kylie wanted to wipe that smirk from his face but his face was more valuable than her life.
“I never agreed to have dinner with you, so your supposed to be dinner date is canceled. Also, I am not hungry at the moment,” just when Kylie finished her line, her stomach growled dangerously, proving her wrong in front of that shrewd man. She hadn’t eaten anything from last night so it was normal for her to be hungry.
“Lier! Stop acting and get in the car,” Alan grabbed her hand and pulled her to his car. Kylie couldn’t find any more tactics to avoid this. So she obliged him. It was just a simple dinner and she was hungry too. There’s nothing to lose here.
“So, where are we going?” Kylie asked looking at Alan who was now sitting beside her inside the car in the driver’s seat. Alan gave her a mysterious smile. He didn’t give her the answer but entered the address on his car’s GPS. Kylie frowned looking at the location.
“Isn’t that place popular for couples?” Kylie asked but got only a smirk from Alan in response. What was he cooking inside that handsome head of his?
