THE CEO ALPHA KING
Chapter 30: Meeting him
Writer’s POV
Serena left Grandma Felicia’s room and headed straight to her room in the castle, just when she got to its entrance.
The scent she had been perceiving hit her again; she hurried into the castle, and just in front of her stood two guys whose backs were turned to her. One of the servants pointed out things to them.
Maybe they are the new servants. Yes, they are, Serena concluded as she kept staring at them, waiting for them to turn so she could see their faces.
When they finally turned, Serena’s mouth dropped open upon seeing the person standing before her, her eyes widened in shock.
“Martins.” She mumbled.
When Martin’s eyes landed on her, he winked at her before turning away from her again.
Serena stood there in shock as she watched as the older servant led Martins and the other new servant away.
Confused and anxious, she walked to her room and shut her door close before lying on her bed.
What is he doing here? Serena wondered but couldn’t think of any reasonable answer.
She turned in her bed, and after a while of being unable to sleep, she sat up and decided to call the person who knew everything.
Issac.
She pulled out her phone and dialed his number.
The call went through, and Isaac picked up after the third ring.
“Hello.” Isaac’s voice boomed through the loudspeaker.
“H…” Serena was Interrupted when a knock sounded at her door.
“Hello S, what is it?” Isaac asked but Serena ignored him and went to the door, she turned the handle and came face to face with Martins
“Martins.” She gasped.
“Hello! Serena, who is that?” Isaac questioned again from the other end.
“I’ll call you back,” Serena answered quickly then ended the call.
“Can I come in?” Martins requested, smiling softly.
“Uhm… I don’t know, I…”
“I can come in.” Martins interrupted and stepped into her room.
Serena shut the door and then turned to face him, his eyes were darting around the room, registering the whole details.
“You are staying at the main castle?” Martins probed.
“Yes, I am the king’s only slave. So that’s the reason why I’m here.” Serena sighed.
“I see.” Martins nodded, walking towards her bed.
“Uh… why are you here? Don’t tell me you came here to work as the king’s servant?” Serena questioned.
“Well, why else would I be here? I’m here to work S, and also to look after you.” Martins smiled at her.
Serena shut her eyes and when she reopened them, confusion filled her features.
“To work and look after me?” She asked, pointing to herself.
“Yes, come sit here. I’ve really missed you, I was also really worried about you.” Martins patted the space beside him.
“No! I’ll stand.” Serena mumbled, rubbing her arms at the discomfort of having him here.
She still doesn’t understand why he would work as the king’s servant just for her. It was unbelievable and confusing at the same time.
“Come on, I’ll explain. Come take a seat beside me.” Martins pressed again.
Serena found her legs moving on their own accord after his words as she went and sat beside him afterward.
“Well you see, I need a job, something that pays. My dad got into an accident and I need all the money I can get to treat him. The king pays his workers well.” Martins explained.
“But… you got a job at the king’s empire,” Serena stated, referring to the fashion industry the Alpha owned.
“I got fired, the rules. There are things I can’t keep up with, but working here for him is so different. It’s so different here. You gotta eat as you like, sleep whenever you aren’t working, dance, sing, and still perform your duties.” Martins explained again.
Serena kept staring at him as he explained, she watched how his lips moved and how he occasionally smiled and smirked. And she couldn’t help but admire him.
Martins turned to face Serena after he was done taking.
He smiled at her, he had noticed the way she kept staring at him.
“You should stop staring at me that way. Your eyes will start hurting.” Martins teased.
Serena quickly snapped her head forward, flushing red and embarrassed at being caught.
“I’m not here just for you. So keep calm, I’m here for myself and my father.” He laughed
“I missed you.” He said again, his eyes filled with sincerity and something else she didn’t understand.
Serena almost turned to look at him again but couldn’t afford another embarrassment so she kept staring ahead.
“That night they took you…” Martins started.
But Serena suddenly turned, she placed her finger on his lips to prevent him from speaking further.
“You can’t talk about that here, Mart. You will put yourself in trouble. Don’t act like you know me, and all will be okay for you.” Serena advised, removing her finger from his soft red lips as she finished.
She can’t understand how or why she acts brave sometimes. How was she able to do that to a guy she barely knew?
Maybe it’s because of the time we spent together, Serena thought.
“Okay, I won’t talk about ever meeting you but I won’t act like I don’t know you either. If I’m asked, I’ll say I met you at the king’s empire so everything will be fine.” Martins smiled at her.
The room fell silent after that, with both of them thinking of what to say next.
“So your brother, I heard what happened,” Martins spoke up first.
“How?” Serena turned to him, curiously.
“I have my ways.” He grinned.
“I heard he loves you so much, I heard how much he protects you. I’ll have to take his place since he is not here, what do you think?” Martins looked at her.
Serena also turned to face him.
“You will do that?” She asked doubtfully.
“I will do that and more, Serena.” He mumbled in response.
“Why?” Serena inquired.
“Because I care about you,” Martins replied, staring intensely at her, especially at her lips.
Serena could feel butterflies fluttering about in her stomach, and she started to grow nervous. But as she tried to pull her gaze away from Martin she felt herself falling deeper into his gaze.
“I want to kiss you.” Martins mouthed, leaning in for a kiss.
Serena turned away upon his words, her cheeks flaming a bright red.
She can’t become close to Martins. Not when they are within the king’s reach.
She has also promised to behave herself.
“I can’t,” Serena murmured, shaking her head in refusal.
“It’s fine, I’ll just head to my room now. See you later.” Martins said before leaving her room for his.

*The king’s empire.*
Beta Adam walked into the company and went straight to Madam Elena’s office.
“What is it, Adam? You asked to see me.” Madam Elena asked, leaning back against her seat.
“I just came to give you an update on what you asked me to do for you.” Beta Adam answered, taking a seat opposite her.
“So, what is it? Anything of interest?” Madam Elena questioned.
“Yes, but first of all, are you sure all these things you guys are planning will work? King Zed doesn’t look like he’ll ever change.” Beta Adam sighed.
“We are not planning anything, Adam. It will happen on its own accord. We just have to keep the half-breed beside him, make sure he doesn’t kill her, the others will fall in place.” Madam Elena explained.
“Well about that. About keeping the half-breed next to him. Something did happen last night that made me believe that something might really make the king change a little.
You know he doesn’t usually give a damn about the female gender, but last night, when that particular half-breed was in trouble, he saved her and even took her to his room. She spent the night on his bed and only went back to her room this morning.” Adam explained, frowning as the memory resurfaced in his mind.
Madam Elena nodded twice, a smile lighting up her face.
“Unbelievable, he really did that?” Madam Elena pressed.
“Yes, he did. He even asked me to call the royal doctor to check up on her. He wanted to make sure she was okay.” Adam chuckled.
“And is she okay?”
Adam shrugged. “Not exactly, this drug this human girl forced down her throat will make her hallucinate and see things. The royal doctor didn’t say this to the king because the king stopped him before he could say it.
The royal doctor told me that she’ll hallucinate and see men she had cared for at one point or the other.
Especially the ones closest to her. The drug might even make her do things she doesn’t want to do, it will get her all horny all stuff. So much for being a half-breed.” Adam concluded, sighing tiredly.
“But that is a good thing though. For now, that can work as an advantage, it can bring them closer to each other.” The Madam said, twirling a pen in her hand.
“Only if she has thought of him or cared for him at one point. If she only has hate in her heart for him then it won’t work.” Adam shook his head.
“It’s true; she has always been scared of him. She is extremely scared of him. But can you feel that way towards someone you are afraid of?” Madam Elena pondered.
“I don’t know. I have no idea.”
“Oh I forget, you haven’t found your mate. You are always with the king.” Madam Elena chuckled.
“I’m his Beta. What can I do? The only way to be a little free from him is if he has someone like that half-breed to distract him. I hope the prophecy is true.” Adam sighed again then stood up.
“You are leaving?” Madam Elena asked.
“Yes, King Zed asked me to pick up some files for him. I’ll get going now.” He concluded as he reached the door.
“Alright then.” Madam Elena nodded once to him before going back to her work.

The next day.
Isaac dressed up nicely and grabbed his wallet and his card before heading outside.
“Can I take your car, Ken?” Isaac turned to Ken and asked.
“Why aren’t you moving with your car, Isaac? Stop disturbing my car and drive yours.” Kendrick groaned.
“Okay, thank you,” Isaac smirked and picked up Kendrick’s car keys.
He checked the time, and it read 1:30; he smiled before getting into the car and finally leaving for the Land Mall Hotel.
The distance from the apartment he is staying with Kendrick to the hotel was a stone’s throw away but he wanted to make a positive impression. He needed Kate to believe that he truly wanted her; he needed her to think that he was madly in love with her; in that way, it would be easier to achieve what he planned.
He needed her to see only him so that when he finally dumped her, she would have no one to run to.
Serena had also told him about the time at the king’s empire when Kate denied that they were sisters in front of other workers. One of the reasons why Serena ended up as the king’s slave.
He didn’t want to blame Kate for that incident because he got to meet Serena because of it. But he was also finding it really difficult to forgive Kate for all that she did. How she broke Serena’s spirit. Serena was her sister. Her sister!
Even now, Kate won’t stop hating Serena while Serena won’t stop feeling guilty about their mother’s death. Constantly blaming herself for it when she really knew nothing about their mother.
He arrived at the hotel at 1:49 pm and parked in the lot before walking into the hotel; he went straight to the receptionist and then made inquiries.
Isaac left the receptionist’s stand after getting what he wanted. He walked into an elevator, and while at the elevator, a thought occurred to him.
Since his first turn as a werewolf, he had never had sex with a human.
Oh fuck! Having Sex with Kate might force his emotions out and he might not be able to handle it when it happens, and eventually, his wolf would take over. Something he doesn’t wish to happen, especially in public.
And according to Serena, Kate doesn’t believe that werewolves truly exist.
