What did I tell you ? Jackie laughed beside me, looking around at Lily. Looks like we’ll have to do what we said earlier.
I remember, Lily grinned, winking at her. This is gonna be fun.
I frowned as Jackie and Lily laughed and nodded at eachother, an unspoken agreement passing between them. They had obviously been talking about a plan when they had gone shopping earlier.
Oh, game on, I said, reaching out my arm over Jackie and sticking my hand out to Dick for a high five, something I had picked up from Lily.
He grinned at me and high fived me back as we entered through the door and climbed the stairs up to the bowling alley. Looking around, it was fairly busy, the restaurant to the left was packed with people. The arcade to the right was pretty full too, so I hoped there would be a lane free.
I walked up to the guy behind the counter, who couldn’t have been more than sixteen. Hey man, I smiled. We need a lane for four. Two games please.
Sure, he nodded. You’re lucky. We’ve just had a cancellation so we can fit you guys in.
Excellent, Dick grinned, leaning on the counter beside me. We need to teach our women a lesson on how to be a bowling champion.
Um, yeah, you wish, I heard Jackie mutter behind me, sounding rather exasperated.
I chuckled to myself as I handed over the money. Uh, I’ll take a pair of size nines and a size six please, I smiled at the guy as he nodded at the shoe rack.
He handed them over as Lily stepped up beside me and passed over her sneakers. I quickly pulled off mine and handed them to the guy as well. Jackie and Dick got their shoes and we walked over to our lane which was right at the left hand side. As we were walking, the main lights went out and multi-coloured lights running down the alley’s lit up, making the whole place darker. I smiled as Lily took hold of my hand as we reached our lane. Guiding her over, we took a seat and quickly pulled on our shoes.
So, who’s ready to get this party started ? Dick grinned, typing our names in to the screen and looking like a little kid in a candy store.
Lily, it looks like you’re up first, Jackie smiled, pointing to the screen. Come on girl, do us proud.
As Lily stood up from the seat, I reached out and gently slapped her on the behind, not being able to resist the temptation. I laughed as she let out a little yelp and narrowed her eyes at me over her shoulder. Shrugging, I looked at her innocently and smiled.
Let’s see what you’ve got gorgeous, I smirked, raising my eyebrows at her.
Don’t let him distract you Lily, Jackie shouted from the other side, sending me dirty looks at the same time. Get in the zone.
I watched as Lily nodded and picked up an orange bowling ball, walking slowly to the line at the beginning of the lane. My eyes were immediately drawn to her ass, which was covered by those skin-tight jeans that I loved. Her hair was wavy and falling down her back. I didn’t even register that she had thrown the ball until she jumped up and down slightly and turned around, a triumphant grin on her face.
STRIKE ! She yelled, pointing at me and looking very pleased with herself.
Nice one ! Jackie grinned, standing up to high five Lily as she walked past.
I stared as she came and sat down next to me, right against my side. Swinging my arm over her shoulder, I leant down and whispered in her ear. Nice shot gorgeous, I smiled. But luck will only get you so far.
I didn’t have time to move before Lily reached over and smacked me on the side of the head. Blinking away the surprise, I looked down at her and pulled a face. That was not luck, she laughed, noticing my startled expression. That was pure skill…
Suddenly, she jumped out of her seat and fist pumped the air. YES ! We are totally gonna win this, she shouted, grinning as Jackie got a spare.
Hell yeah, Jackie said, doing a little happy dance as she walked back.
I glanced over at Dick who was looking back at me with an expression on his face that said, ‘Shit. We’re in trouble here.’ Shrugging, I nodded at him to take his turn and that was when I saw Lily wink at Jen out of the corner of her eye.
You two are up to something aren’t you ? I muttered to Lily, before pulling her in close so she had to look up at me.
No, she mumbled, biting her bottom lip to stop her smile. What would make you think that ?
NO FAIR ! I suddenly heard Dick shout from the line, before I could answer.
I looked up quick enough to see his ball go in the gutter, narrowly missing the pin at the edge. What the hell ? I yelled at Dick, who turned around and looked at the floor guiltily. That sucked.
He pointed at Jackie who was walking back to her seat with a smug grin on her face. She put me off, he argued, shaking his head. She started whispering stuff in my ear that, uh, got me a little distracted.
I don’t even want to know. Crap, I guess that means you’re going to try and distract me too, huh gorgeous ? I said, looking at Lily.
She just smiled at me and cocked her head, raising her eyebrows. I think it’s your turn college boy.
I narrowed my eyes at her, knowing what was coming. But now, since I knew what Lily was going to do, I mentally prepared myself as I stood up and walked over to the bowling balls. Taking my time, I looked through them and tested the weights, but I could feel Lily standing behind me, waiting for me to step up to the lane. After a couple of minutes, I turned around and found her standing right in front of me, as close as she could get. She just smiled at me as I stared at her, not saying a word.
I’m prepared for you, I lent down, whispering in to her ear. Distracting me won’t be so easy.
We’ll see, she whispered back, a gleam in her eye.
Laughing softly, I turned around and walked up to the line, holding the ball to my chest as I worked out the angles. I felt Lily step up to my side but I tried my hardest to ignore her as I stared at the pins at the far end. But when Lily slipped a hand under my shirt, my willpower at ignoring her drastically faded. I moaned softly as she slowly stroked my chest and when she stood up on her tiptoes, I knew I was a gonner.
She kissed the side of my neck, causing me to tilt my neck towards her without even realizing it. Throw the ball Noah, she laughed softly, before nibbling my earlobe gently.
Damn it, I gulped, my concentration flying out the window.
Squeezing my eyes shut, I threw my arm forward and let go of the ball, willing it to at least hit one pin. As I heard the ball hit the wooden floor, I opened my eyes and cringed as it veered to the right and fell in to the gutter, not hitting a single pin as I had hoped. Sighing, I turned around and found Lily standing there, a huge grin on her face.
I thought you said it would be difficult to distract you college boy, she laughed sofly, raising her eyebrows at me.
Well, I muttered, mentally slapping myself. Obviously I was mistaken.
I watched as she burst out laughing and stepped towards me, a knowing look in her eyes. Looks like we’re winning.
Shaking my head slightly, I was confused as whether to smile or sulk. But as soon as I laid eyes upon that gorgeous smile, I knew that the only thing I could do was enjoy the moment of being there with her, looking as happy as she had ever looked. Taking hold of her hand, I walked her back to the seats and pulled her on to my lap.
Nice work Lily, Jackie said happily from the seat opposite.
Yeah, nice work Lily, Dick echoed, but sounding less happy about it.
Looking over at him, I shrugged, having come to terms with the fact that we had already lost. He just shrugged back at me, a small smile on his face. Dick had obviously come to the same conclusion. We were totally screwed. But there was no doubt about it, I was happy beyond belief.
And the one person I had to thank for that, was Lily.
