“Sir. There’s a huge problem” Adrian uttered with a solemn expression as he rubbed his sweaty palms together.
“What is it, Adrian? Speak up” Liam lost his cool and yelled at him.
“The men we sent to search for the female nurse said they found her dead in her house with a sniper in her hands” Adrian explained with great reluctance. The news was devastating. “She committed suicide”
Liam was shaken to the core by the news that he could not find the right words to say. Why would the culprit result in suicide?…. Adrian took his boss’s silence as a cue to continue his explanation.
“The house was empty when they got there. But they found a picture of a woman who looked identical to the culprit but was in a wheelchair, so I did a background check on her and found something” Adrian paused for a while to regain his breath.
“The woman who impersonated the identity of a nurse has a twin sister battling with brain cancer but the twin’s location has not been discovered”
“So, you mean our only lead to finding the mastermind is dead?” Liam asked as he recovered from the shock, the severity of the situation dawning on him.
“Yes boss” Adrian replied with hesitation and a hint of self-blame in his tone. He felt if had been faster, then he would have found the woman before she even thought of taking her life. But come to think of it, the body was already decomposing, a sign that the woman had been dead for a long time even before the news got to him.
“How does her twin sister’s condition relate to this?” Liam asked with a confused tone. The situation was becoming more complex.
“I traced the dead woman’s bank record and found out she had transferred a huge sum of money to a hospital account. A few minutes after she was here” Adrian replied while hinting at something. “The money must have been her payment from her hirer but the account of the hirer also leads to a dead end”
“Darn!!….” Liam cursed in fury. He was back to square one with no lead or assurance of discovering the orchestrator behind the whole drama. The only flicker of hope which was very dim, was Penelope’s uncertain recovery. He was going to drop this case for now, he had wasted a lot of time pursuing the case instead of building his new project.
“Sir… The police have arrived” Adrian drew his boss’s attention to the officer approaching them.
“Hmph… So punctual” Liam snorted in annoyance. “You deal with them. Let them have the information you’ve gathered and the little girl’s statement. I’m going lose my cool if I face him”
“Oh! Alright boss” Adrian replied anxiously to Liam who had already walked a distance away from him.
Liam walked over to Isabelle, a mysterious glint flashing through his eyes as he gazed deeply at her like he wanted to search her soul.
“I’m leaving” he uttered with a cold expression on his face. “Are you coming with me or what?”
“Um… No, I’m not”Isabelle shook her head in disagreement. “I want to stay with Sabrina for a while. I’ll try to come home as early as possible”
“Hmph… Suit yourself” Liam scoffed and suddenly remembered something very important. “I’ll be moving Penelope to a specialized hospital where a neurologist will be specially assigned to her. It’s the only way to increase her chances of waking up”
“That’s great. I’ll inform her family” Isabelle responded to Liam who was already walking out of the hospital.

“Hmm…. Damien, you never cease to amaze me” Gina exclaimed with a smile on her face as she gazed at Damien with praises in her eyes.”how did you find a woman so desperate to carry out the mission?”
“It’s me, Damien Russo. I always find a way” Damien responded with a pompous tone in his voice. He had gone through means to get the lady who was desperate to save her sister’s life. He had promised to pay for the sister’s brain transplant if she could get rid of Penelope for him but it was out of his calculation that she would resort to suicide.
“I guess the woman was eaten by guilt and couldn’t live with it so she committed suicide” Gina commented with a disdainful tone, striking the bull by the horns. She felt the woman was too weak and she despises people who are weak, especially women. One of the traits, she hated in her daughter.
“At least, I did my part of the bargain so my conscience is clear” Damien uttered with a dismissive tone in his voice. Sacrifices were one of the things he was willing to do to get to the top.
“Haha….” Gina chuckled heartily at his words as she placed her hands on his chest.”I wish we could celebrate this accomplishment. Although we weren’t able to delay Liam’s project as planned, we were at least able to instill a sense of apprehension in him. I’m sure he now understands how serious we are”
“You’re right, my dear. You’re right” Damien mumbled incoherently as he got trapped in her gaze. “I think I know a way to celebrate our success”
“How?…” Gina asked feigning ignorance at his words before whispering into his ears.” Show me”
Damien took her words as a yes and captured her lips with his while caressing her body causing her to moan in pleasure.
“The workers might hear us” she mumbled in a daze filled with passion.
“They wouldn’t dare to speak a word about it” Damien assured her as he continued exploring every part of her body.
The two delved into each other’s embrace as their body moved in unison, loud moans and groans that shook the walls of the office. They kept on switched positions, marking every part of the room with their lovemaking until they both reached their climax., their breaths heavy as they lay on the couch savoring the pleasure they had both experienced within the short period.
