Ophelia stopped by Cade’s room to let him know what her dad had said about the situation. Her mind quickly flashed back to the evening at their hotel and how she walked in on him naked. She had no intentions of repeating the mistakes knowing that he could be getting ready for work so he could be naked she knocked instead of just barging into the room.
“Yeah, who is there?”
“Ophelia”
“Ohh” she heard footsteps and a few dragging and then more footsteps before the door finally flung open. “Good morning” he murmured.
“Good morning, you were doing exercise?” she asked noticing his sweaty face and forearm.
“Yeah and that was why it took me a minute to answer the door” he said before giving a brief nod to Diana who just stood awkwardly behind her.
“Give me just a minute” Ophelia said dismissing Diana
“Okay,” Diana said before just moving a few feet away. Ophelia rolled her eyes and turned to Cade “We can just ignore her”
“Okay” Cade said rubbing his hands together before raising his shoulders and adding. “What is this about?”
“Well, first off Dad said you should be at the police headquarters by seven today so they can help with that stalker situation” Ophelia said and he sighed.
“I hope this will bring a lasting result,” he said and she nodded.
“I hope so” she added.
“And? Anything else?” he asked after the silence for a minute.
“Well, the house staff are down right now and I am going to say hello to them, want to come as well?” she asked. She did not know why those words flowed from her mouth, and how she was not able to control it.
“Do I have to come?” Ophelia turned to Diana as if she needed her permission for him to come. Cade’s tone told them all that he was not that interested in coming but if he had to then he would. Diana shrugged because she did not know why both of them were now staring at her for a discussion they were having with each other.
“Well not really but I think… I guess it might be nice… I don’t know” she said trailing off as her eyes focused on everything behind him.
“Okay then let me just wipe off my sweat,” he said turning into the room.
“And maybe wear something appropriate” she screamed after him.
“Are you saying I am inappropriately dressed?” he stopped to ask looking down at himself. He was in a tank top and some shorts and he felt those were appropriate enough clothes to wear at home.
“Well, that is not what I am saying,” she said causing him to move closer to her and fold his arms. “It is just distracting” she added causing his eyebrows to go higher than usual. “Right Diana?” she asked trying to get the opinion of a third party.
“I do not know and even more I do not know why you are asking me this” Diana responded with a confused expression. “I think I will just wait for you or both of you downstairs” she said already out of the space before any of them could say anything more.
“She is a weird lady isn’t she?” Ophelia asked with a nervous chuckle. She knew that she had created this awkward tension between them and she prayed he would just let it go and allow them to get on with their daily activities then she would feel better.
“I am not really sure, I think that word applies to you” Cade murmured. Ophelia just wanted to get back at him and demand what he meant by what he said but she knew better than to do that. If this was what it meant for him to let go then this was nothing for her.
“So do you want me to change into something less distracting or is this okay?” he asked throwing on a hoodie”
“This is sufficient enough” she replied turning and facing the hallway. “Let us go” she added already a few steps ahead of him.
“Wait a second” he jogged up to her and caught up to her.
“Do we need to act all lovey-dovey in front of the staff as well?” his question made her stop and she turned to him. She had not thought anything about that and it was something they needed to hire up.
“I don’t think acting would help us here, they would be seeing us ninety per cent of the time” she pointed out to him.
“So what do you think we should do?” he asked her. She tilted her head and began thinking that her forehead had begun to crease.
“I have nothing” she replied after some seconds.
“What if we ask them to sign a non-disclosure agreement?” he asked.
“Wait? Do you think that works?” she asked.
“Of course, they are bonded by the law as long as they sign t”
“So they can not tell anyone anything that happens here?” she asked.
“Yeah”
“Okay then, I guess we should do that,” she said and then turned to begin walking.
They got downstairs to meet them and Diana had gone all out for them, there was a chef, three security guards, two housekeepers for cleaning, a gardener and a butler who was supposed to oversee the entire household. Ophelia explained the house to them and what she wanted before telling Diana to ensure that they signed the agreement before the end of the day.
