Chapter 242: Our Evidence Isn’t Solid Enough

Reese looked as glamorous as any top celebrity, comparable to even someone like Sophia.
Guided into the office by Bianca, Reese received a warm welcome before the door was closed. Grasping Reese’s hand, Bianca exclaimed, “Reese, you’ve lost weight!”
Reese twirled and smiled. “Yes, thanks to the weight-loss pills you provided. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been so slim.”
Leonel stared blankly at the young, beautiful girl seated on the couch.
Reese initially focused on Bianca but eventually noticed Leonel. Startled, she asked Bianca, “Bianca, who is this?”
With a quick glance at Leonel, Bianca guided Reese towards him and explained, “Without him, you wouldn’t have lost weight so quickly.”
Reese looked puzzled. “What do you mean?”
Bianca smiled as Leonel stood up. Extending his hand to Reese in a gentlemanly manner, he introduced himself, “I’m Leonel, Bianca’s brother. I’m a guest professor at the Edenfield Medicine Research Institute, where I research and develop obesity medications. You’re the first person to lose weight using my medicine. Nice to meet you.”
Seeing her brother’s swift introduction, Bianca couldn’t help but laugh.
Men often find beautiful women captivating, and Leonel was no exception.
With wide eyes of surprise, Reese shook Leonel’s hand and said, “So, you’re the creator of the weight-loss pills! That’s incredible!”
“I’m flattered,” Leonel said with a smile.
Bianca then interjected, “That’s enough small talk for now.” She turned to Reese with a serious expression. “I actually need your help today.”
“Tell me what you need, Bianca. I’ll do whatever I can help!” Reese responded eagerly, always looking to repay Bianca’s kindness.
Bianca, now more cautious after the replacement of Reese’s weight-loss pills, glanced discreetly at the door to ensure their privacy.
She guided Reese to a seat away from the door and took her own place opposite her.
Bianca leaned in and whispered, “Before we continue, there’s something I need to confirm.”
“What’s wrong?” Reese’s expression matched Bianca’s seriousness.
“Earlier, Orion Entertainment’s network was hacked. Was that you? Be honest with me. You don’t need to worry; I won’t tell anyone.”
Through everything, Reese had always trusted Bianca the most.
After a moment of thought, Reese admitted, “Yes, I did it.”
Bianca smiled, having long suspected that Reese had the skills of a covert hacker. She had chosen not to reveal this secret, respecting Reese’s privacy.
Now, however, Bianca needed to take advantage of Reese’s exceptional abilities.
“Great. Then… you can help with what I’m about to propose next.”
Reese’s eyes widened in surprise. “What exactly do you need? Why the secrecy?”
“I need your help to collect all the surveillance footage from the airport, the area around my mother’s home, and a domestic service company for the past month,” Bianca explained.
Taken aback, Reese asked, “Why do you need all that?”
Bianca shared her mother’s situation with Reese, fully trusting her with this task.
As Reese listened, her initial shock turned into anger. She grasped Bianca’s hand and promised, “Don’t worry, I’ll get it done and help you catch whoever set that fire!”
Bianca smiled and patted Reese’s hand gratefully. “Thanks a lot.”
That evening, Reese arrived with a hard drive full of surveillance videos. She had even hacked into the police system and downloaded all the data on the arson case.
Bianca was deeply moved.
Realizing the heaviness of the task, Bianca asked Diana and Blake to help expedite the process. They each sat with a laptop, carefully reviewing the footage.
Before long, Leonel saw a suspicious figure in the airport surveillance video.
“Hey Bianc, check this out!” Leonel called out. He pointed to a woman in black wearing a windbreaker in the surveillance video. She seemed to be carrying something under her windbreaker as she left the airport, though she hadn’t had it when she arrived.
The woman looked eerily familiar to Bianca.
“Bianc, over here!” Diana called. She pointed to a frame from the video near Madison’s residence. “Doesn’t this woman look a lot like your stepmother?”
Bianca confirmed it was indeed Stacey.
At that moment, Blake quickly added, “Bianca, in the video from the domestic service company, Marisa was seen meeting a woman in black.”
After checking, Bianca confirmed that the woman in black was indeed the same one they had seen at the airport.
They pieced together the clues over the next two days and uncovered the truth. Bianca realized that Stacey was behind the arson.
Stacey sought revenge against her. She blamed Bianca for Ashley’s impending imprisonment and Peter’s betrayal.
Stacey wanted Bianca to experience the pain of losing her loved ones.
Bianca’s face grew cold as she thought of this betrayal.
“Bianc, we should give these proofs to the police,” Leonel suggested, his hands clenched into fists.
Bianca shook her head. “Our evidence isn’t solid enough; some of it is just guesswork. Giving it to the police won’t be enough to pin Stacey down. Plus, it might just tip her off and make her more cautious.”
“So what do we do? Can’t we do anything to stop her?” Leonel asked, frustrated.
“The only way to get solid evidence is to find that kid. I need to go to Stacey’s residence,” Bianca said firmly.
“Why go back there?” Leonel asked, confused.
Bianca smirked. “I have a plan to make Stacey hand over the child herself.”
Meanwhile, at home, Stacey relaxed on the sofa, sipping her tea. She felt triumphant. After a month of scheming, she had finally succeeded in removing Madison from the picture.
With Madison in a vegetative state, she no longer becomes a threat to her.
Stacey had even planned to hire hitmen to eliminate Marisa once she left Edenfield.
Marisa had been sensible enough to end her own life.
Petter’s business thrived with Madison’s money, significantly improving Stacey’s lifestyle.
However, her main concern was still Ashley.
Despite consulting numerous lawyers, Stacey knew that Ashley would face inevitable imprisonment unless the accuser withdrew the case.
Reese had handed Ashley’s case over to Bianca, who Stacey knew wouldn’t give up easily.
Stacey had always believed that if someone tried to stop her from enjoying her life, she would ensure they suffered even more.
That was why Bianca’s actions had pushed Stacey to kill Madison. Without this catalyst, Stacey might not have been so daring.
She figured Ashley might face a year in jail, but Bianca? She’d lose her mother forever. This thought provided Stacey with a twisted sense of comfort.
As she gently caressed her slightly swollen belly, Stacey reflected on her privileged position within the family. She knew she couldn’t keep the baby.
