Yayoi smiled at her before continuing to chop the vegetables.
Rosiley wiped her hands on her apron. She smiled at Yayoi gently, her eyes full of care and concern.
Yayoi’s eyes were red and swollen from crying. It was obvious that she did love Morphy as well.
However, this was a relationship that was destined to end badly. Morphy already had a fiancee, making it impossible for him to marry her.
since that was the case, breaking up was the better decision for both her and Morphy. If such a relationship continued, Yayoi would be affected even more.
Hence, she couldn’t allow Yayoi to be hurt at all.
“Rosiley, the vegetables are done. Do you need…”
The rest of her sentence seemed to be swallowed by her. Yayoi turned around and saw Rosiley deep in thought. She frowned and called out, “Rosiley.”
“Huh?” Rosiley was alerted by her call. She blinked and asked in confusion, “What happened?”
Yayoi looked at her thoughtfully before pointing at the cut vegetables on the chopping board, asking her, “I’m done with chopping the vegetables. Do you still need help?”
Rosiley looked at her and smiled. “There is no need. Wash your face before eating.”
After she spoke, Yayoi still stood there and didn’t move.
“Go.” Rosiley pushed her out of the kitchen.
Yayoi stared at her before walking away.
Looking at her back, Rosiley smiled before going back to work on her dishes in the kitchen.

During lunch, Rosiley didn’t mention Morphy at all as she talked about meaningless gossip.
Yayoi merely agreed with her from time to time, remaining silent most of the time.
After washing the dishes together, the two prepared tea and sat down in the living room.
Rosiley sipped on her tea. After a brief moment of silence, she spoke. “Yayoi, I will talk to Morphy about this.”
Yayoi stared at the light-green tea she was holding. She remained silent as she was deep in thought.
Sighing gently, Rosiley said, “Yayoi, I am sorry.”
Her sudden apology surprised Yayoi. Yayoi raised her head to stare at her with astonishment.
Rosiley smiled apologetically, “If Sachin hadn’t asked Morphy to bail you out of the police station, none of these things would have happened.”
That was what she was referring to.
Yayoi shook her head. “This doesn’t concern you. It’s my own problem.”
As she spoke, she lowered her head again in sadness and grief.
Looking at her, Rosiley thought about it before telling Morphy’s situation to her.
“Morphy’s fiancee is the granddaughter of his grandfather’s military buddy. His fiancee’s grandfather saved Morphy’s grandfather on the battlefield. Hence, the old man wanted to repay him by forming a marriage alliance between both families.”
Yayoi was silent throughout the explanation. After a long while, her lips curled up and replied, “That’s great, isn’t it?”
Her tone seemed hopeless and sad. Rosiley’s heart crunched as she stared at her worrisomely. “Yayoi…”
Yayoi raised her head and smiled at her. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. I endured the ordeal with Han Yichen as well. Furthermore, I never dated Morphy before. What happened between us was merely driven by passion, which was nothing.”
However, her expression betrayed her words.
Furthermore, Rosiley didn’t feel that Yayoi loved the jerk Han Yichen. Rather, she admired him.
Even though it seemed like she was deep in love then, she wasn’t.
Even though she seemed nonchalant now, she wasn’t as well.
One could only blame fate!
Rosiley sighed but didn’t manage to console her anymore.
