A wedding suite was reserved personally for her, Zack managed to arrange all of that within a day, he was being considerate even though she would be all by herself.
Tossing her phone on the exquisite bed and taking off her high heels, she intended to get a nice siesta before her phone rang. After she saw the caller’s ID, she frowned and tossed it back to the bed, there was no way she was picking the call. The caller was persistent, as her phone kept ringing, she was tempted to smash her phone to make sure she never saw the caller’s name, but as much as she wanted to, she refrained. There were better things to do than that, no matter how she tried to run away from her past, it will keep haunting her unless she takes action to deal with it so it never bothers her again.
Her eyes caught a glimpse of something at the corner of the bed, very close to her phone. She didn’t notice this before as she was too eager to rest. A black card was placed on the nightstand and she had an idea who it belonged to.
Her phone rang, this time it was a strange number, she still ignored the call thinking it might be the first caller who switched numbers to get her to answer. She touched the red screen to end the call, and the silence was followed by a text message.
*Ignoring my calls on our honeymoon, that’s too rude for a newly wedded wife.*
Ivy’s mouth formed an ‘O’ when she read the text. She assumed he was the first caller and now she was going to pay for it. She could sense his anger from her phone and immediately dialed his number. Now it was her turn to be ignored, she kept calling him, and he kept ignoring her calls. She sighed and texted an apology.
*I’m so sorry hubby, please forgive me, let it slide, okay after all we are still in our honeymoon.*
Distance honeymoon, she chuckled after she texted him, it was kind of satisfying to feel his displeasure.
He called her back and she cleared her throat for the incoming outburst.
“Why didn’t you pick your calls, is this how you want it, huh? You crawled to me telling you want marriage and now you are ignoring me after you’ve gotten what you wanted, typical women…”
‘Oh please, I said I’m sorry already just let it slide.’ She didn’t say that out loud or she might make things worse.
“I’m sorry, Hubby, I thought you were someone else, and I didn’t remember giving you my number.”
“Is that your explanation?” He asked and Ivy bit her lips.
“My time is precious, so listen, use the money and get yourself some clothes. I don’t want to see you in rags when I get back, your personal driver is waiting outside.” He ended the call as soon as he said that.
Ivy just swallowed his insult and took the card, it was still so much better than living with that jerk who fed her with lies, unlike Zack Anderson, who was more transparent, his feelings were reflected through his words even though he was rude.
When she got outside the hotel, a Rolls Royce was parked outside with a driver patiently waiting.
“Did I make you wait for long?” Ivy asked as she got inside the car.
“No, Ma’am.” He responded as he started the car. “Where are we going, Ma’am?”
She better get used to the others calling her Ma’am; she was now a wife of a wealthy man.
“Take me to any clothing store nearby.”
“Okay, Ma’am.”
They arrived at a luxurious clothing store she knew well; once in a while she normally came here for shopping as their clothes were often expensive. Back then she worked as an actress, it was one of her favorite stores. Good days that were cut short by Dave.
‘Ugh’ she hated to mention his name, everything kept reminding her of how he deceived her and made her abandon her promising career.
She shook it off and stepped out of the car and walked to the store; it was still the same as before, everything was luxurious.
“Hello, beautiful lady, did that catch your eyes?” The shop assistant smiled as she pointed at a red dress on display.
“Oh yeah, I think it will fit me well.” Ivy smiled back and admired the dress. It was indeed a beautiful dress.
“It will also suit you well.” The shop assistant retained her smile.
“Please, how much is that dress, I’ll buy it.” Someone said as she snatched the dress from Ivy, disregarding her presence.
Ivy was annoyed by the woman’s attitude, and she snatched the dress back from her.
“What is a mannerless piece of trash doing here?” The woman scoffed as she gave Ivy a profound look.
She definitely recognized her; it was Irene’s best friend, and she knew she did that on purpose.
She knew what might follow if she kept arguing.
“I’ll pay for this.” Ivy said ready to pay for the dress, but before she could bring out her card, Kate placed her card on the counter and smirked.
“I have the money, I’ll pay for it.”
“What is wrong with you, Kate?” Ivy was beyond annoyed. Why was she treating her with disdain? What did she do to her?
Kate chuckled before turning to the shop assistant. “I’ll advise you to take my money for the dress before you’ll regret it. You have no idea who this woman is.”
The shop assistant was glancing at the two, confused about who to sell the dress to.
“And what do you mean by that?” Ivy asked as she furrowed her brow before she chuckled in realization.
“A homeless b*tch can never afford a dress, let alone wear one.” She turned to the shop assistant again and smiled. “Take it.”
The shop assistant heard what she said and scrutinized Ivy from top to bottom to decide if she could afford it. She was wearing a simple outfit, unlike Kate, who was wearing a designer dress.
Ivy knew it was going to be a long day in the clothing store. Irene must have told Kate every detail of what happened to her. She made her decision; it was time to take action. After all, she was far better than her now.
