“What the fuck is going on here?”
All of them turn around to face the owner of that voice. Damian is standing there with his stoic expression, but there’s anger in his eyes.
“B-Boss…” the bodyguards stunned.
Damian looks at the scene. Soon, his gaze fell on Teresa’s grip on Melody’s wrist; his gaze hardened. I just saw how she grips her wrist; it looks so tight. He knows that will leave a bruise on it.
Something snaps in him. As if, he couldn’t see someone touch her in that kind of way. What is wrong with him?
“Let go of her,” he says firmly.
Teresa quickly let her wrist go. She couldn’t think straight with Damian’s hard gazes on her. She felt like she could die just by his gaze.
“Geez…” Melody pouts.
“Melody, come here,” he demands. His tone sounds commanding but laced with gentleness.
Melody didn’t waste her time and rushed toward him. She holding her wrist, looking at Teresa with frowns. She didn’t expect her to act like that.
“What is going on? Don’t even leave any single detail,” Damian said with a commanding tone. He looks at Melody, waiting for her response.
“I didn’t do anything wrong,” she shrugs her shoulder. The way she says it sounds so innocent with her green doe eyes looking straight toward him.
Damian crosses his arms on his chest, “Should I trust you?”
“I-”
“Mr. Angelo, we just-” Before letting Teresa speak, Damian shot her a dark gaze.
“Did I ask you to speak?” he questioned.
Teresa shut her mouth. She clenched her fist, feeling intimidated by his voice and gaze.
“No, sir. I’m sorry…”
“We should go now. I already bought the clothes,” Melody butt in to stop the scene. She could see everyone looking in their direction.
As much as she loves attention, this is not the kind of attention she wants. Unexpectedly, Melody holds his massive hand not aware of what she did.
“Come on, I want to go eat something,” she grins. She tried again, and she saw Damian didn’t budge at all.
Damian let out a deep sigh. He wants to settle this, but it is wasting his time to face this woman.
“Fine,” he looks at Teresa, “Once again, I saw you with Melody; I’m not hesitated to shoot you.”
That threat is not empty. Teresa could feel it. This man wouldn’t hesitate to do it no matter where they are. It sends a shiver through her spine. But that’s not what catches her attention.
Teresa’s eyes fixed on the way they holding each other hand. How can that man let someone else touch him? Isn’t he the type of person who hates being touched? It’s out of his character.
Out of the way people describe him.
Even Damian’s glove became a wall between their skin contact; it didn’t change the fact he let someone hold him.
Melody munching her food but in an uncomfortable way. She looked up and saw Damian staring at her. His gazes fixed on her, right through her soul. He has been doing that since they arrived at this restaurant.
“Are you going to stare at me like that or what?” she frowns.
“I know there’s something happened. Tell me what happened back there?” Damian is still on that topic.
Melody sighed and put down her spoon, “You wouldn’t drop that topic, aren’t you?”
“Not until you tell me,” he says firmly, leaving no room for protest.
She sighs deeply.
“I just went to check out some dresses. Then, we bumped and that’s what happened. I don’t know-maybe there’s something that I say triggered her? Maybe?” Melody shrugs her shoulder.
“Your words? What did you say to her?” he questioned.
“At first, she said I didn’t belong in that branded store, and I couldn’t afford anything in there. She called the staff and said I might have stolen something. She dares me to prove that I can buy one dress from that store.”
“That’s when the guards you assigned to take care of me come, I ask them to pay and boom! Teresa went out of control,”
Melody explains and finishes it with an innocent smile. She saw Damian arches his eyebrows at her.
“What? I’m telling the truth,” she continues eating her food.
Damian hummed, “If that’s what you said, that’s mean… she probably didn’t believe that you are living a peaceful life instead of in hell.”
“Hell? Why she thought that way?” she frowns.
“I don’t know if you are dumb or stupid. Maybe both,” he mumbles the last words. “Melody, I am known as the tyrant man.”
“Then?”
“Seriously? Are you aware of what I’m saying right now? Anyone who is in your shoes right now is probably ready to take my bullet,” Damian frowns.
She looks at him up and down. What he said might be true since she was like that when the first time they met. She thought she was going to die when Damian pressed her against the wall and looked at her with that death gaze.
“Not going to deny it,” she mumbles.
“That’s why that woman acts like that,” Damian takes a sip of his drink.
Melody knows Teresa very well. More than anyone. She wouldn’t like it if anyone-especially Melody, lived much better than her. Frank probably starts to be strict in her shopping habits.
Talking about Frank…
Teresa probably informed this thing that man. Melody tried to avoid getting involved with them, but he got something she wanted. Which is her father’s property. Also, she hasn’t told Damian about it.
“What are you thinking of?” Damian’s voice snaps her out of her deep thought.
“What?”
He narrows his eyes, “I’m asking you a question, don’t answer it with a question,”
“Sorry…” she giggles. “Anyway, about the deal… where I said I can ask any favour from you… you still remember it right?”
“Of course. What about it? Is there something you want to request?” he asks, surprisingly his tone laced with gentleness even though he sounds firm.
Melody fiddles with her spoon, “Um, not yet. I will tell you when I think it is ready.”
“You seem you got something in your mind,” Damian gazes at her.
“I do-but not yet,” she replied.
“Whatever. As long as you didn’t request for something stupid,” he warns her.
“What? No! Why do you always think bad thoughts about me!?” she huffs.
Damian scoffs, “I don’t know, maybe because you’ve always acted that way since we first met.”
“I can’t help it since you always act grumpy and obnoxious sometimes-”
“WHAT!?” he slams the table.
Melody flinch. All customers look in their direction. She frowns and smacks his hands, “Dude! Calm your ass down!” she whispers.
Damian clenched his fist, “You said I’m obnoxious?”
“Come on, it’s just one word-how can you get triggered by that? Geez,” she rolls her eyes. The bodyguard near their table already shakes their head slightly, watching the fight which is going to happen.
“The one who is obnoxious right now is you! You are the one who acting like one! While I’m here have to face it 24 hours!” he exclaims.
“Me? I’m not obnoxious, sir! I’m just cheerful! Unlike you, Mr. Angelo!!” she slams her hands on the table, glaring at him.
“Cheerful? Yeah, right,” he scoffs. “Cheerful don’t have to be so fucking annoying, you know that!?”
“It’s annoying because your life is always gloomy and depressed!! That’s why you couldn’t bear with it!!” Melody talks back.
Damian gritted his teeth, “Take back what you said, Melody. You don’t know what are you talking about.”
“I don’t care! If you didn’t do the same then I wouldn’t! Fair and square!” she snaps.
“Fine then! Don’t cry when I say or do something that is going to hurt your little soft heart!!!” he hissed.
They huff and lean on their chair, crossing their arms on their chest. Both of them right now are acting like two kids fighting over candy. The bodyguard who watching the whole scene just try their best not to laugh.
Not even one person dares to fight back against Damian and see their boss act like that.
Teresa slams the door and stomps toward the living room. Frank, who is reading a newspaper, is jolted to hear such a loud thumping. His eyes follow every action of his daughter.
She slumps herself on the couch, crossing her legs. She grabbed the cigarette and lit it up.
“Teresa, sweetie, I told you not to smoke in the house,” Frank scolds her.
She didn’t reply but just grumbled under her breath. Seeing her daughter states, he knows there’s something happened.
“What is wrong with you?” he frowns.
“What is wrong with me? You should ask that fucking bitch!!!!” Teresa exclaims. He could see anger fuel up in her eyes.
“Who?”
“Melody!! Who else!?” she yells.
Frank’s eyes widen slightly. “Melody? You met her?”
“Yes! And you know what? She thinks she left this place, she can humiliate me just like that!?” Teresa pushed the cigarettes on the ashtray.
“She probably looks like someone who is waiting for her death to arrive, right?” Frank chuckles.
Teresa frowns, “That’s what I thought at first, Dad. But, we are wrong.”
His chuckles faded, “What?”
“She living in heaven and not hell!! She got the pretty dress and looked so fancy in that luxurious, branded stuff!!!”
Frank was stunned to hear those words from his daughter. Melody living in that kind of life? He thought she was going to beg for her life to end after living with that tyrant man.
“She has something I want. Something that was supposed to be mine, and yet…. she snatched it from me!!!” Teresa exclaims. She grips her hair, “Ahhhh!!!! That fucking bitch!”
It looks like something is beyond his expectations. He thought she wouldn’t be able to interact with Damian, but it seemed like something happened between them.
Why did Damian give her everything luxurious and let her live a comfortable life? It is just like he treats something precious.
