Damian keeps grumbling under his breath. He can’t believe he’s in the feminine section right now. He pinches the bridge of his nose, thinking how foolish he’s here right now. How can he lose to this woman?
Melody put everything she needed in the cart that was held by Damian. Some people who saw Damian were stunned. Seeing an intimidating and dangerous mafia in the feminine section makes them stunned.
“Are you fucking done? We have been in this section for an hour,” he grunts.
“Can you be patient for a moment? Women need time to find the stuff she is comfortable in,” Melody rolls her eyes.
“Why did I agree to do this,” he mumbles under his breath. “I never felt humiliated in my entire life.”
Damian kept glancing at the people who were walking past and looking at him in confusion and stunned.
“Just bear with it. You are famous-no wonder why people keep looking at you,” she chuckles and crouches down to take a look at some stuff.
“I got a reputation to hold, and here you are, ruining it,” he glares at her.
“Then why have you agreed to come with? You could just let me go alone,” Melody said.
Damian scoffs, “There’s no way I will do that.”
“Why?”
“Why what?” he frowns.
“Why you didn’t let me go alone?” she questioned.
Damian seems taken aback by her question. He just thought of that after she asked it. Why did he not let her go alone? Even he wonders why. It’s just like it came out of his mouth without thinking.
There’s no way he worried about her safety, right?
Thinking about it makes Damian shake his head. “Like hell, I will be worried about you…” he mumbles under his breath.
Suddenly, his guard came and whispered something in his ears. Damian’s expression darkened. He turns to Melody, who is busy looking through stuff.
“Wait here. I got something to do,” he said firmly.
“Yeah, whatever,” Melody simply said, not bothered by it.
Damian walks away with the guards. She moves her attention to the product. Melody grabs anything she needs. After a few moments, she is done. Some stuff was left in her arms since the cart was held by Damian.
“Where is this old man?” she huffs.
Melody decided to go to the make-up and skincare section. She walks down the aisle, looking through some products. Not going to lie, but the price make her taken back a little bit.
“How can this place be so expensive?” she looks around and notices that this shopping mall is filled with rich people.
The way they dress up and the shopping bags they hold. Melody let out a sigh, thinking how lucky they could buy that stuff without any worries.
“Mrs. Melody, don’t you want to grab some make-up or skincare?” one guard questioned, the one who kept following her.
“I… I don’t need them,” she lied through her voice.
The guard arches his eyebrows, “You don’t need them? But, all girls need them including men,”
“Um… I came here to buy my stuff that’s all.” Melody chuckles, showing him the stuff full in her arms. “Even Mr Angelo said I can take everything and provide my needs; I need to be wise.”
“It’s his money. He works for it while I… I just waste it just like that,” she added.
The bodyguard takes a brief pause. Then, he lets out a chuckle. He can’t believe what he just heard. As far as he knows, Damian could be a billionaire if he want.
“Mrs. Melody, I don’t think Mr. Angelo would mind it. He might be more than delighted to spend it on you,” the bodyguards chuckle.
“I doubt that,” Melody mumbles under her breath. “But, if you say so, then I will do it.”
“Do what?” Damian came back with the cart filled with her stuff.
“Sir, Mrs Melody insisted on buying the make-up and skincare supply. She said she doesn’t need it,” the bodyguards explained before she did.
Damian scoffs, “You? Don’t need it? Please, don’t make me laugh.”
“As if you can laugh,” Melody quipped.
“I can, just don’t want to,” he glares at her. “Anyway, I don’t care if you are lying about something else but lying about you don’t need those things?”
“You got to be kidding me,” Damian arches his eyebrows. “At least if you don’t need make-up, you need skincare.”
“Fine, I do wear it. It just… it’s your money, and even if we got a deal, it’s still your money. I don’t want to waste it just like that,” Melody speaks while putting the stuff in the cart.
He knows he shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions. But those words are just like an insult to him. Damian narrows his eyes on her.
“Are you saying I don’t have money?”
“I didn’t say that, Mr. Angelo,” she sighs.
“The way you say it is different. I could buy more than ten penthouses, did you know that?” he firmly said, triggered by her words.
Melody frowns, “I don’t even ask.”
“I don’t need you to ask. I just want you to be aware of it,” he replied, his tone laced with annoyance.
Melody looks at him with a sour expression. Does this old man misunderstand her words? She couldn’t believe he was much more stupid than her. She was about to give up, but an idea came up.
She smirks, “Really? You could buy more than ten penthouses?”
“I do. I feel like I’m being insulted by your words,” Damian leans on the shelf and hands the cart to the bodyguards.
“Then, can I ask for more dresses?” she grins. She probably said she didn’t want to waste his money but just this once. This once.
“Are you kidding me? I thought your closet was full of new dresses and clothes,” Damian frowns.
“I… I just need a little bit more. I promise I won’t ask again,” she raised her pinkie finger.
Damian stares at her for a moment. There’s a pause from him before he lets out a deep sigh. He just nods as a reply.
“Great! Thank you so much, Mr. Angelo!!” she giggles and walks towards the counter, “Let’s pay that first!!”
“Why did I agree?” he frowns and mumbles to himself.
She smiles at the cashier as the guards put the cart on the counter. The cashier watched her and Damian in confusion. They look so opposite of each other. Damian, with his stoic expression, while Melody looks like a bright sun.
“The total is 100 dollars,” the cashier said.
“My husband will pay for it. He said he could buy more than 10-” Before Melody could finish, someone pinches her cheeks.
“Shut your mouth before I do it for you,” Damian said with the warning in his tone.
The cashier holds back her laughter, watching the cute scene in front of her.
They went out of the store. Melody looked around the mall and found a branded clothes store. She gasps and squeals brightly.
“We’re going there!!!” she runs inside, leaving Damian and the guards behind.
Damian sighs and shakes his head slightly, “Two guards with her. I need to handle make a call.”
He pulls out his phone and walks away after two guards walk inside the store to find Melody, who is gone in just a minute.
Melody looks around the store in amazed. She has never been in here. The only clothes store she went to was the cheapest one. Not cheap but affordable.
“Woah… everything looks so beautiful,” she smiles.
As she walks around, she turns around, thinking Damian is behind her, but she bumps into someone.
“Melody?”
