Draven breathed out as he stood in front of Xalia’s suite, he lifted his hand and pressed the doorbell.
“Come in, it’s open!” He heard Allison yell and slowly walked in, he walked fully into the suite and paused when he saw her on the bed munching on a bag of chips.
He looked around wondering where Xalia was.
“What?” Allison asked.
“Where is Xalia?” He asked and she frowned.
“She has been in your suite all day so much she is supposed to be with you.”
“No, she left like an hour ago, she is supposed to be here.”
“She didn’t come here.”
“What?” Draven asked and Allison got off the bed.
“I haven’t seen her in hours.”
“Shit.” He muttered and hurriedly brought out his phone from his pants pocket, he dialled her number but the call wasn’t connecting.
“Fuck.”
“Is something wrong?” Allison asked as her heart started to race.
“You really don’t have to be worried. She grew up in Atlanta, she knows her way around.” Allison said but Draven didn’t give her a response. He rushed out of the suite and rushed into his suite. He picked up his jacket and keys before rushing back out.
He rushed to the elevator and went through his phone. In a few minutes, he was out of the hotel and he hurried into his car then drove into the streets.
He brought out his phone and placed a call to Henry.
“Hey, man.” Henry called.
“Xalia is missing.”
“Missing?”
“Yeah.”
“Have you checked around the hotels?”
“Yeah, I have access to the cameras. I already checked when I was in the elevator, she is not at the hotel.” He replied.
“It’s almost midnight, where the fuck is she?” Draven muttered and gritted his teeth.
“Where are you heading?” Henry asked.
“Harrison’s.”
“What if she isn’t there?”
“He is the only problem I have in Atlanta.” He replied and Henry chuckled.
“Stop worrying Draven, I am sure she is fine. Also, there is a tracker in the necklace you got her. Just take a chill pill and find her.” Henry said and Draven ended the call.
He pulled over at the side of the road and breathed out, he tapped a button at the corner of his phone and a map popped up, Xalia’s location was blinking a blue dot and it was close to where he was.
He ignited the car and followed the map, he got to a park and he stopped his car. He got down and looked around. It was dark and only a few people were around.
He kept walking to where the map led him and he stopped when he saw her sitting alone on a bench all alone. He sighed in relief and walked towards her, she heard footsteps and she turned to see him.
As she looked up at him, the rage building inside him died and he became calm.
Without saying a word, he slowly sat beside her and exhaled.
Xalia didn’t say a word to him either.
“When I was five, my parents would bring me here and we would spend the whole day together doing different kinds of fun stuff.” She said and chuckled, Draven turned to her and watched her.
“But he stopped two years later when Malia’s mum showed up in our house. She already had Malia then and she was five. My mum found out their marriage was based on mostly lies, it really broke her but my father never apologised. I became a stranger to him out of the blue. It got to a point where my presence irritates him.” She paused and chuckled.
Tears clouded her eyes but she fought the urge to make them fall.
“At first, I thought things would eventually get better but with time, I knew I was just lying to myself. Right from the moment they came into our lives, everything went wrong. He made Malia superior to me, she got everything I had always wanted. He gave her the best life anyone could wish for.” She said and tears streamed down her eyes, she couldn’t hold them anymore.
“I… ”
“You don’t have to talk about it if it hurts you.” Draven cut her off and she sighed.
“I just came here to get some hair, I was tired of being in that hotel.”
“Which is why you left without saying anything to anyone.” Draven scoffed.
“You told me to leave without doing anything!” She snapped at him and he raised a brow.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell.” She muttered and sniffed, she wiped her tears and Draven sighed.
‘He came all the way here to get me and he is acting like he doesn’t care?’ She thought.
“Let’s go.” He said and stood up, he walked ahead of her and she also stood up and trailed behind him.
“Okay, fuck.” He muttered and turned to her.
“I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry I yelled at you and made you leave. I was so worried about you, you shouldn’t just run off like that. You got stabbed two days ago and you are just healing, don’t get hurt again.” He said and her face slowly formed into a smile.
“You were worried?” She asked and he rolled his eyes.
“Also, your hair is pretty by the way. You look cute.” He mumbled but Xalia heard it, she giggled happily and hugged him.
“It means a lot when you say stuff like this.”
“Yeah, let’s go.” He said and pulled away from her, he held her hand and pulled her gently to the car.
“How did you find me though?” She asked as they got into the car.
“There is a tracker in your necklace.” He replied and she looked at it.
“Oh, I didn’t know that.”
“Never take it off.” He replied and his phone rang, Xalia glanced at the caller and smiled.
“It’s Henry.” She told him.
“Yeah, answer it.” He replied and she picked up the call.
“Did you find her?”
“Hey, Henry.” She called with a smile and she heard him laugh.
“That answers my question. Where did you run off to? Your husband was worried.”
“I just went to get some air.”
“Oh, okay. It’s not always cool when a pretty… ” Henry trailed off and Draven took the phone from Xalia and ended the call.
“Why did you do that?”
“Nothing.” He replied and she smiled.
“We are going to New Jersey tomorrow.”
“Awwn, already?”
“Yeah. I’m done with Atlanta.”
“Draven.”
“Yeah?”
“What’s your job exactly? Why do you have so much power everywhere?”
“I shot people repeatedly in your presence. Who do you think I am?” He asked back.
“An assassin?”
“I’m a gangster Xalia.”
