ALEX
MANY YEARS AGO
Me and Israel, my supposed Beta, were spending time on the park discussing the burial of my father who had just died.
I didn’t want us to discuss it at the Park, there were plenty of annoying urchins that I wanted to get rid of.
We had spoken about some things when I noticed a young college girl who looked tired and sick. I had viewed her as a random girl, but I still kept my gaze on her.
She was about boarding a car when a young street boy dragged her purse from her, and ran away.
“Help, help..” she screamed as she ran after the young boy.
This intrigued me the more. I wasn’t a pitiful, or a merciful person, I just wanted to see how they would end the case.
In a few minutes she came back to that same spot as she looked troubled, someone altered the police and the police caught the young man as they dragged him to her.
“Take your purse, madam,” the police officer handed the purse over to the young girl.
The girl took the purse and brought out all the money inside the purse as she stared at the thief with pity.
“Wait,” she called out as she walked to the boy and said; “you need it more than I do,”
I don’t know what magic this girl has on her, but I became more interested in her.
She pleaded with the police officers not to arrest the young man who had tried to steal from her.
When the police men left, the boy was standing two feet away from her, he was struggling for words to say but the young lady was smiling at him.
As if he couldn’t find the right word, he scurried away. There were no words of appreciation. No prayers. He just left
The girl hung her backpack properly as she footed her remaining journey.
“Strange,” I commented from where I was seated.
My beta who was sitting close to me didn’t see what I saw, and I wasn’t going to explain what I saw
I dismissed him to go back to the Park as I stood up and noticed something across the road.
I walked down to the road and saw a diary with pictures in it. It belonged to the young girl who has a different heart, a heart and soul that should be protected from evil.
From evil people like him. He picked the diary as he pocketed it and left like he hadn’t just taken someone’s private belongings.
I took it back to the Park, where I saw Jessica waiting for me, she was my supposed mate. I like her, but I felt I needed to know more about her before accepting her as my mate.
I walked steadily inside my room as I opened the diary that had gotten my whole attention. ,
My dream is to marry an Alpha that would love me as I am.
These were the first words I saw before I felt a tug in my heart. I read almost everything in the diary, but I didn’t find the exact thing I was searching for.
Her name and where she lived
In no time I was already picturing myself with this young lady, her hazel eyes held me captive.
PRESENT
I held the diary as I looked at Red from the surveillance camera, this was the lady who had caught my attention many years ago.
The reason why I had rejected my mate was because of this woman.
She is my mate. Her name is Evelyn.
I fisted my hand with enough pressure as I didn’t want to regret my whole decision.
We will have to find a way to fix my life.
As much as I want her, I’m not ready to risk my friendship with Jason.
If she was with another person it would not be a problem for me, because I have a way of claiming her.
I lit the cigarette as I inhaled enough of what my lungs could take, I kept it in for some time before I puffed it out.
Feels good.
I made a few calls as I came to a decision. I will have to go visit my Park.
It is high time he made things right.
He booked a flight to Duval, his Park. He made arrangements on how to approach his rejected mate and how to apologize to the people.
I placed a conference call to all the managers managing my businesses. I held a black pen as I kept a straight face.
I gave each of them duties to perform when I will be away. I wouldn’t want any of them slacking off.
After an hour and some minutes we were finally fine discussing, and I ended the call.
My flight is in thirty minutes, I have to head to the airport, this instance.
I drove my new 2024 SUV model quickly to the airport and handed my car key to the reception staff present at the airport.
In a few minutes, it was time for the flight. I went through the right procedure as I entered the plane.
This is an intrusive thought I’m carrying out. I never planned to find myself traveling to Duval this soon.
I gulped down some whiskey, as I was dozed off. I found myself already in Duval, as I breathed in some air.
“It’s going to be a long day,” I muttered to myself.
“I am glad that you know,” a voice sounded from my back. I turned my back to see Maximus, my Beta smiling warmly at me.
“How’d you know I’d be here?” I asked him with a frown.
“Instinct, Alpha Alex,”
I furrowed my brows as I found it hard to believe. What instinct? Nonsense!
It was too early to create a scene or to be dominant with him, I only smiled as he came forward to pick my bags.
We took a carriage to the Park, Moon Crescent Park. It took some hours to be able to spot my park and in a few minutes, we were already in the Park.
The people were surprised to see me, but they all welcomed me wholeheartedly. My eyes were darting amongst the crowd searching for the main reason why I had returned.
I finally spotted the green eyes, my heart rate sped up. She is still beautiful, the same way I’ve always known her.
I took my eyes away as I pretended to listen to the elders discussion. But, a part of me was dying to go sit with her, to hold hands with her, to kiss her and tell her how sorry I am.
Fuck…
The room door shut with a quiet click behind me. I crossed the room, my steps slow and deliberate, until I reached the sitting room area where Maximus had made himself comfortable with a document.
A muscle pulsed in my jaw.
If we didn’t have such a long history together, and if I didn’t owe him for the whole time he helped me keep an eye on this Park, his head would already be shattered on the bar cart near him.
“Who is Jessica with?” I asked him with cold eyes.
“Nobody,” he answered as he stretched the document towards me.
I collected it as I opened the documents and studied everything that is there, the finance, the development, everything.
“Who is handling the finances?” I asked Maximus.
“Elder Donovan,” he replied as he stood up feeling uneasy.
“Summon him and everybody.”
“Don’t you think it’s too early to cause a scene?”
“A scene? I’m causing a scene?” I asked with a loud growl
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I will summon them now,” he said as he scurried away.
The hall was full as everybody was murmuring on why they had been summoned, I walked out from my room as I came down from the stairs with full authority.
“Alpha Alex, you summoned me,” Elder Donovan spoke.
“I did.” I made sure to seat comfortably on the throne before I collecte the document from Maximus. “The finance record are not up to date why is that, Donovan?”
The cunny, old man stuttered for words as he couldn’t make up a proper statement.
The hall was silent as they waited for my judgement, they all knew the kind of person I was. Calm and dangerous.
I scanned the crowd as I spotted that green eyes piercing her eyes into mine.
“Take him to the dungeon,” I ordered. I noticed the shocked expression on her face, thus had all expected him to die.
If there is anything I dislike the most, it was cheating.
I was about saying something else when I noticed a guy placing his hands on my girl’s shoulder. If there was anything else I hate was… touching what’s mine.
My cold smile should tell her how little I care, I hated the fact that she is becoming my weakness.
I wasn’t interested in the ins and outs of her relationship with the young man, but it amused me to see how comfortable she was with the guy placing his hands on her.
I wasn’t a sentimental person, but there is only one area of my life where my usual pragmatism didn’t apply: Jessica
I dismissed the people after Elder Donovan has been dragged to the dungeon.
There was one in sight except ___Jessica.
She stood at that same spot as she looked at me with those her charming green eyes. Jessica, I would say is a perfection created by the creator.
She walked closer to me as she bowed; “Alpha Alex, welcome back,” I sized her up with my eyes as I felt a sharp tug in my chest.
My breathing was ragged, but I tried my best not to let it show. I hummed to her greeting as I didn’t take my eyes off hers.
If she was here then there was something important she has to say.
“I now have a job, and I think I’m also in a relationship,” hearing that my heart squeezed. “I, Jessica Silvana reject Alpha Alex as my mate,”
These words sounded like a bomb in my ears. Although I had lied to Jason that she also rejected me, I didn’t expect her to truly reject me.
