“How do I look?” she asked again when he stood there staring her down. He could feel his mouth hang open and was trying his best to close it up.
The dress she wore really accentuated her waist so much it was hard not to look away and her family looked plump and small when the make-up she normally did was not on it. She was breathtaking and he could not deny it.
“Pretty” he let out without thinking about it at all.
“What?” she asked tilted her head so her curls that she had tried to put into a loose bun bounced by the sides. “Oh my gosh this hair” she said her hand going up to it frantically as she tried to adjust out the curls.
“I think it looks okay” he said still staring so hard at her. “It complements your look,” he said now clearing his throat and trying to act normal. He could not believe how a single look was able to make him feel feelings he had not felt before.
“So you think this look is enough to get people talking?” she asked hands on her waist as she spun around.
“Of course it is. I mean it is very pretty” he said choosing his words carefully. He was not going to make her head swell and begin to make her think she was all that special. ‘Even if she was’ he said in his head.
“Okay then if you say so,” she said taking her bag and checking the contents in it.
“Shall we?” Cade asked looking everywhere else in the room aside from at her. It was ridiculous that a simple dress looked so good on her that it was difficult to look away and even when he did look away it was difficult for him to shake off the image from his head.
“Yeah, but quick one” she said looking down at her feet and pointing to them.
“What?” Cade asked looking down at her feet and realizing that he had misinterpreted what she meant. He pressed his lips together and bit the inside of his cheeks as if that would serve as a punishment for himself.
“We are going out and we have to act as though we are in love. Can you do it?”
Cade stared at her face and he knew that if what she meant was that he had to be all over her today then that would not be a difficult task for him at all because today she looked extra beautiful in his eyes. This was nothing like he had ever felt before. Quite right he had always thought of her as a beautiful girl right from their first meeting but for some reason today it was like someone was holding a halo behind her head and it was giving her some extra kind of beauty.
“That should be easy” he said gulping down and looking around so she had no reason to suspect that anything was going on. He was sure that if she knew what was running through his mind she would call him out for his earlier statements when they first met about him being unable to love.
“Okay then shall we?” she asked turning and standing by his left hand. She slid her hands through his forearm and held onto it so tightly he felt as if the blood flow there was restricted, “Let us go”
With much difficulty, Cade began lifting his feet and walking out of the room. “So where are we going?” Cade asked as they waited for the elevator.
“It is supposed to be a surprise but I guess telling you would not hurt anyone” she said as the door dinged open and they walked in.
Ophelia saw that there was no one on the elevator but for some reason, she refused to let go of his hands. ‘What if someone walks in while their hands are unlinked?’ she asked herself in her head before responding to herself. ‘We can not let that happen’ She held onto him as her life depended on it.
“A surprise?” Cade continued when he realised that she stopped maybe because she lost her train of thought.
“Yeah the staff at the front desk were so helpful and they told me about this restaurant where their sole business is to prepare romantic courses for couples. So one spouse books ahead of time as a surprise and then the other one shows up to enjoy the ultimate experience. They thought it would be the best since we just got married and I had to get it since it was their suggestion” she said.
“And not because I wanted to go there” she added.
“Of course, we can not let them think we do not love each other,” Cade said nodding.
“Right,” they said as they dropped to the ground floor and went out of the elevator.
They had hired a car service and the car was waiting for them, Cade told the driver he would love to drive instead.
“Are you sure sir?” the boy asked scared.
“Of course and do not worry we will make sure you get your payment. Just take the time off and spend it with your girlfriend” Cade said opening the passenger side for Ophelia to enter.
“Thank you, sir,” the boy said with a smile that lit up his face.
“And do not worry about driving us for the two weeks we will be here, we can drive ourselves” Cade added before shutting the passenger’s door and moving to the driver’s side. He gave the boy a wave of the hand before entering and zooming off. The boy watched the car zoom off in a didistancend it was the first time a Chaebol was interested in driving themselves.
“Why did you not let him drive?” Ophelia asked unable to understand why he wanted to drive himself when there was the driver that came with the package already.
“Well if I drive then they would all assume we wanted our time together without any third party”
“Genius”
