“How should we handle it? By going to sleep!”
Flynn yawned and lay down on the bed.
Scarlet was taken aback by his words and quickly responded, “Hey! The Sharp’s Group is getting nothing but bad reviews online, and you can still sleep?”
“Ms. Sharp hasn’t done any PR yet, aren’t you going to respond?”
Flynn adjusted himself into a comfortable position and said indifferently, “Respond to what? Argue with Lilia online?”
“These are all baseless accusations. Netizens love gossip; let them enjoy it. As long as they can chatter, they don’t care about who’s right or wrong.”
“They might criticize Rose’s character, but when they are sick, they still have to buy medicine from the Sharp’s Group.”
“Because only the Sharp’s Group’s medicine can save them, that’s our confidence.”
“Put it this way, in the eyes of the public, it appears that Rose is smearing Sordoff and has bad character.”
“But in the eyes of the investors, it’s Lilia who has lost an investment of eight billion dollars.”
Scarlet, finally understanding, analyzed:
“With the release of the upgraded Ancient Formula Returning Heart Pill, Lilia lost ten billion, and the Hussain family hasn’t recovered yet.”
“The Swanson’s Group is even worse off, their market value halved to fifty billion dollars due to the failure of Acebegron Clear Relief.”
“The alliance of the three families also lost an investment of eight billion dollars and is in a slump.”
“Investors are just watching and dare not easily collaborate with them.”
Flynn nodded and sneered, “So, you see, the article Lilia published can’t affect the Sharp’s Group at all.”
“Instead, it has revealed to the outside world that the three-family alliance is still in a downturn, making investors hesitate.”
“Lilia isn’t stupid. I think once she realizes this, she will definitely delete that article.”
“Once she deletes it, netizens will naturally think she’s guilty.”
“Rumors collapse by themselves.”
Scarlet, somewhat surprised, smiled and said, “Mr. Clark, I didn’t realize you had such a comprehensive view of things!”
“But don’t underestimate Layla. With her in the three-family alliance, they will surely find new investments.”
Flynn, unconcerned, lazily responded as he undressed and lay down:
“Last night, Orion mentioned that there was a slight issue with our cement supply. You don’t need to worry about it; I’ll handle it this afternoon.”
Scarlet acknowledged with a nod, “Okay, I’ll leave it to you. I’m going to have Ms. Sharp sign a few documents then head to the Construction Department for the ‘Construction Production License’.”
Rose, in her bid to join the Dragon Creek Society, had merged Orco Real Estate into the Sharp’s Group conglomerate.
She now represented King’s Landing Group legally and needed to sign some documents.
After hanging up the phone, Flynn placed his mobile on the table and prepared to sleep, when he suddenly noticed a long hair on his pillow.
It was Scarlet’s.
She had spent the night here a few days ago, sleeping like a lazy kitten, her body slightly curled up, her hair loosely draped over Flynn’s chest, partially covering her face.
But her delicate features and gentle expression were still visible, a posture that made one want to embrace her.
He had kissed her forehead gently.
Flynn had indeed done so, and it felt wonderful. Recalling it brought him a pleasant mood.
With these memories, Flynn slowly drifted off to sleep, a smile on his lips.
The Kaur family.
“What are you looking at, dear?”
Paulina saw Madeline constantly on her phone, her brow furrowed, and couldn’t help but ask.
Madeline, without taking her eyes off her phone, said as she scrolled through messages, “Yesterday, there was trouble at the Cherry Blossom Inn. Rose used a bait-and-switch to smear Sordoff, causing Lilia to lose an eight billion dollar investment.”
“What? A bait-and-switch?” Paulina was mopping the floor and quickly came over upon hearing this.
Madeline, not bothering to explain, just showed her the chat records from the socialite group.
“See, what did I tell you? Rose is desperate.”
“Jealous that someone else got an eight billion dollar investment, she resorted to such underhanded tactics!”
Paulina snorted dismissively and said, “But from what I know, Ms. Sharp isn’t that type of person.” Madeline was somewhat puzzled.
Paulina slammed the mop down on the floor, scoffing, “Rose could never come up with such a rotten idea, but Flynn, that waste, could.”
“Chicken theft and dog snatching he dares to do, isn’t a swindle just a piece of cake for him?”
“Eight billion dollars! Over fifty billion, with such a massive amount of funds pressing down, does the Sharp’s Group even have a way out?”
“To survive, Rose could only agree to Flynn’s plan.”
“Such occurrences are no longer surprising.”
Madeline nodded and said, “During this time, Flynn has almost become Rose’s military advisor. These despicable and shameless tactics are likely not unrelated to him.”
“But this also illustrates a problem.”
“Rose is at the end of her rope, and Nathan can’t help her.”
Paulina set down the mop and sat next to Madeline, “Helping Rose by getting Mr. Price, arranging celebrity endorsements, Nathan can do these things.”
“After all, he is from the Eahtathe Fletcher family, Mr. Price’s disciple, and his father is the head of the National Security Bureau.”
“But when it comes to funds, he is powerless.”
Madeline remained noncommittal.
The Fletcher family has a profound background, but their assets, only a few billion, are of no help to Rose.
Most importantly, Madeline discovered something-Nathan hadn’t invested a dime in Rose.
He only utilized some connections.
What did this imply? Nathan’s help for Rose was casual, a personal act.
If the Sharp’s Group succeeded, Nathan profited; if it failed, no matter, he wouldn’t lose a penny.
“Huh? Mom, how do you know so much about the Fletcher family, even that Mr. Fletcher’s father works at the National Security Bureau?” Madeline was somewhat surprised.
Paulina raised an eyebrow, “Nathan is soon to be our Kaur family’s son-in-law; of course, I had to find out a bit.”
“Mom, nothing’s settled yet!” Madeline’s face flushed a deep red.
Paulina smiled warmly, “Nathan helped bring in three investments, stood up for you at Lilia’s party, not minding offending big stars and Lilia.”
“He even said outright that you and he are family and to come to him if there’s ever a need.”
“If he didn’t like you, would he help out so much for no reason?”
“You know in your heart, too; you’re just shy.”
“Let’s just wait. After the business war between Rose and the Tripartite Alliance concludes, no matter who wins, Nathan won’t need Flynn anymore.”
“By then, he will kick Flynn to the curb and then confess to you!”
Madeline nodded thoughtfully, a hint of anticipation in her eyes.
If Rose lost, she’d push Flynn forward as the scapegoat.
If Rose won, Nathan would reap the benefits without needing Flynn anymore.
Of course, the possibility of Rose winning was almost nil, and Flynn was sure to be the scapegoat.
When that happened, everyone would be up in arms, even risking his life.
But who could be blamed?
With no real talent and not following the right path, such an end was well deserved!
Flynn’s very existence was a mistake!
Divorcing him was the best decision of her life!
“Oh! By the way, when are Charlie, Tristan, and Corbin, the three bosses, coming back to Niarak?”
“The Kaur family is waiting for the return on the three contracts!” Paulina asked.
“Soon, they’re expected back in Niarak in four days,” Madeline thought and replied.
Ten days ago, while she was at the golf course seeking a partnership with River, she received a call from the three men.
They wanted to collaborate with the Kaur family.
Madeline immediately went to their company but didn’t meet the three bosses.
She learned from the staff that they had gone to Haralu and would be back in fifteen days.
By then, they would make the payment to the Kaur family and then initiate the project.
Now, ten days had passed; it was soon.
Thinking of this, Madeline’s lips curled into a smile.
Perhaps by that day, Nathan would have confessed his feelings, and the money for the three contracts would also have arrived.
“By then, my name will echo through Niarak, becoming the envy of thousands of young girls!”
“By then, the likes of Marcel will tremble and crawl at my feet, crying and regretting their earlier offenses!”
“By then, with the influence of the Fletcher family, I will step by step become a shining star like Layla!”
As Madeline silently recited this in her heart, envisioning her future, the door was suddenly kicked open, and a middle-aged woman with a group of people stormed in!
