IN mixed emotions of anger, sadness and fury, Lucas watched Jasira walk out of the study, he watched her open the door, catwalked out and closed the door behind her, then he sank into his seat, flopping down on it like a bag of clothes. He has really been gotten.
“Jeez!” He muttered under his breath, “how the hell did she get to know about my kids? My secret? How?” He rhetorically asked, keeping his voice low.
He closed his eyes for a minute and when he opened them, he growled loudly, grabbing hold of the glass of half drunk alcohol on the table and flinging it across the room. It hit the wall and shattered to pieces on the floor.
“Nooooooo!” He finally let out a wail, his teeth chattering as though he had caught a cold, and his eyes bloodshot.
A knock came on the door immediately.
“Go away,” he howled.
The knock came again, it seemed the intruder hadn’t heard him, and this time, he kept mute and said nothing.
“Boss?” A voice followed the knock, “Boss is everything okay?” It added.
Lucas said nothing, he instead had his head bowed as he sat on his seat with his elbows resting on the table. Soon the door opened and the person who had been knocking came in, it was Boogie.
He came in wearing an anxiety look on the face, it immediately changed into a surprise look seeing Lucas in that kind of brooding position.
“Lord Lucas?” He called and closed the door behind him, then walked up to him.
“I hope you are alright? The people are waiting, aren’t you gonna join the party again?” He asked.
Lucas still didn’t say a word, he just had his head bowed and didn’t even bother to raise them up.
Boogie was stunned. What the hell had happened and what had Jasira come to do, to have left His Lordship in such condition? These were the puzzles he couldn’t get answers to.
“Lord Lucas, please talk to me, it’s Boogie, what seems to be the problem?” He pressed on.
“Tell everyone at the dining room to leave -,” came the reply.
“Huh?” His eyes widened in astonishment, “what are you talking about?”
“And no one should come to me, I repeat, no one, I want to be alone,” he said.
Boogie was still surprised, he just couldn’t fathom the whole thing.
“My Lord what is going on? What about the ongoing party? -”
“What the hell is a party gonna do for me when my children’s lives are at stake?” He suddenly raised up his head and barked the question, banging the table with his right fist as he did.
“Huh!” Boogie was stunned, “your kids?” He asked and Lucas looked away, relaxing more into his seat.
“I want to be alone,” he said and Boogie hesitated to leave.
“Now!” He shouted and that was when Boogie turned, and left the study.
On his way back to the party, Zach bumped into him at the hallway, making him stop.
“Hey, I was coming to ask for you, where is Lord Lucas?” He asked.
Boogie sighed.
“He said he wants to be alone,” he replied and continued walking.
“Huh! Wha… what do you mean?” Zach asked glancing towards Lucas’ study and back at Boogie who was already walking away.
“Hey man, what do you mean?” He asked running to catch up with him.
“I don’t know, it is what I know that I have just told you,” he said.
Zach was surprised.
“That he wants to be alone?”
“Yeah.”
“So what happens to the party?”
“It is dismissing,” he said and Zach gasped, halting in his tracks.

The drive back to Jeremy’s mansion was silent, the weight of her decision pressing heavily on her. She had crossed a line, using children as leverage in a deadly game.
This was a move that could have dire consequences, but she had no other choice. Jeremy’s safety was paramount, and she would do whatever it took to ensure he remained unharmed, besides, enough was enough.
The gates instantly slid open even before she could get to it, she drove in immediately and screeched to a halt at the parking lot and alighted.
As soon as she did, Gabriella ran up to her.
“Welcome ma’am, I have been waiting for you,” she said.
Jasira’s eyebrows furrowed.
“Okay, for what? Has your Boss eaten yet?” She asked.
Gabriella smiled.
“Oh yes he has,” they began walking away, heading for the door.
Jasira smiled.
“Wow! Good. So why were you waiting for me?”
“Um ma’am, it’s to prepare dinner, you know you said you have your recipes and I want you to teach us, kindly teach us,” she said pouting and blinking her eyes.
Jasira was forced to laugh. Gabriella was the head of the maids in the mansion and owing to Jasira’s friendly, free and likable nature, she, Gabriella had come to like her.
Jasira was so free with them, not the bossy and rude type of humans they had always come across with, ma’am was different, and so they had all liked her.
“Alright, alright,” they got to the door and Gabriella opened, making way for Jasira to get in first.
“Thank you,” she greeted.
“You are welcome ma’am,” she replied, smiling broadly.
“So about dinner, I will teach you guys -“.
“Oh! Yeah!” Gabriella screamed and clapped her hands, almost interrupting Jasira.
“Funny girl. So I would teach you guys huh, let me go up first, set the kitchen,” she instructed and took the stairs.
“Sure ma’am,” Gabriella said, stamping her right foot and saluting like a soldier, then she headed for the kitchen.
“Jeremy?” Jasira called the moment she opened the door and went into the room, her eyes quickly scanning the room.
She saw him on the couch, sleeping. A light smile played on her lips. She closed the door behind her, and then walked up to him.
Truly, he was sleeping and she admired him, her man. His handsome innocent face was pale, she brought her head down and kissed him on the lips.
“Alright, let’s make move to put you in bed,” she said and dragged him to the bed.
