THE night arrived faster than Jasira had expected, as she sat on her bed, staring intently at her phone, hoping he would call or something, he didn’t.
Hold on, why was she even worried waiting up for his call or text? She was the one whom had disappointed and didn’t show up as planned, neither did she call to say she wouldn’t be able to make it or something like that, yet, she was still up, and keenly waiting for his call to come in.
Well, she waited in vain, there was no call from Jeremy, neither was there a text.
“Ohhhhh!”, She growled, “I hope I haven’t ruined everything with this stunt of mine? Ahhh!”, she winced.
Funny enough, there wasn’t even any reason that had made her disappoint Jeremy on the day they were supposed to hangout, absolutely nothing, she just resolved to pull such stunt, and see the outcome.
Now, she was seeing it right? There was never a night passed without his calls, or texts, but now, there was absolutely nothing from him, and surprisingly, it got her worried and sad.
She was still waiting for his call when her head hit the pillow, and she wandered into dream land.

Very early the next day, even before Jeremy could leave for work, his dad paid a visit.
He was at the dining gubbling down the light breakfast of sandwich and green tea, when a guard walked up to him to inform him of Mr Petersons’ visit.
Even before Jeremy could respond whether to let him in or not, Mr Petersons entered the dining, as quietly as a ghost, interrupting the question and answer session.
Jeremy looked at him.
“Dad?”, he called and waved the guard away, and he bowed slightly, then left.
“Dad good morning”, he greeted and picked up the souvenir, then wiped his mouth with it.
“Good morning son”, he replied and sat beside him, “I see you are at table?”, he asked and Jeremy wondered if it was a statement or a question.
He nodded anyway.
“Yeah, and it’s too early, I wasn’t expecting you”, he said and picked up the glass of water, gulping down a reasonable amount of it.
“I called yesterday to pre-inform you of my coming this morning, I guess you aren’t aware”, he said.
“Oh!”, he mouthed, his eyes widened in astonishment, he didn’t remember really, but he could remember Nathan telling him something yesterday as soon as he came down from the car, but then again, he remembered telling him to fuck off.
“Ahh!”, he exclaimed and splayed his right hand on his face, how stupid of him.
“Probably you weren’t aware”, Mr Petersons came again and he tilted his head.
“Yeah, ugh… something like that”, he said, “what is up with the visit? I hope mum is okay?”, he asked.
He sighed.
“Your mum is fine. I can see you are still pig headed over this issue -“, he trailed off.
“What issue dad?”, he asked, looking curiously at his dad.
“About getting married to Mr Redford’s daughter”, he stated.
“Ohhh!”, Jeremy exclaimed and shoved his plates of food aside, “not again”, he added.
Mr Petersons nodded knowingly.
“I see”, he said shortly.
“I’m not into Amelia dad, yeah, she is beautiful, intelligent, classy, name it, but I’m not into her, she is just not cut out for me”, he said, “I just don’t know how best to put it”, he added.
He smiled wryly.
“I understand”, he said and Jeremy abruptly turned to him and he nodded.
“You do?”, he asked.
“Yeah, I do”.
Jeremy heaved a sigh of relief.
“At least someone understands me”, he uttered.
“Not just someone, your father”.
“Yeah, sure, sure”, he said, nodding his head in concurrence.
“Look son, I really do understand the fact that you aren’t into this girl, I mean, being forced into something that you do not want, it can be frustrating, I know. I am in love with your mum and I can’t imagine being forced to be with another…”, he trailed off and Jeremy turned to him, and he continued.
“… but you see, Mr Redford, my friend, is really really angry, he wants this and I can’t do a thing because we had an agreement, like a convenant -“.
“Oh no dad don’t go there please”, Jeremy interrupted and got up from his seat, “it wasn’t a convenant, stop using that word”, he added.
Mr Petersons sighed.
“I get it, but the fact still remains that, we; Mr Redford and I, had an agreement”.
“And I am not going to be part of that agreement, never. I don’t love her, I can’t be with her”, he said, stretching out his arms.
Mr Petersons shrugged his shoulders, he better let him be, he has chosen his part.
“What is with the damaged car under the tree outside?”, he asked, digressing.
Jeremy calmed down.
“Oh that? I had an attack few days ago”, he said.
“You what?”, Mr Petersons asked, shifting on his seat.
“Come on dad, let’s go have a look”, Jeremy said and began heading out of the dining, his dad got up and followed him.
“When was that son?”, He asked as they were heading out of the living room.
Jeremy sighed.
“On the Saturday mum had invited me over to the house”, he replied.
They got to the door and the guard standing by it, bowed slightly and opened the door, and the duo sauntered out.
By then, the morning had begun to clear, the birds had began chirping and singing sweetly from the different trees around.
“Seriously?”, He asked as they walked up to the car.
They got to the car and halted as Mr Petersons began going round it, checking it out.
He had actually seen it earlier when he had arrived, but didn’t know what had happened, he didn’t know it was an attack on his son, he had thought it was a minor accident or something, and was about to ask why he hadn’t sent for the automobile repairer.
“Yes father. I was attacked on my way back, just very close, not far from here”, he explained.
His father turned to him.
“Hold on, does this have to do with the emergency that made you leave that day?”, he asked.
“Oh! I had even forgotten about that. It has nothing to do with it, that was something different, I don’t know dad, but I’m sure my enemies are on it”, he said.
Mr Petersons was troubled, could this be somehow connected with Mr Redford? He wasn’t having a clue, but he still wasn’t having a doubt, it could be his handiwork.
He looked at his son.
“You have to be careful son, really careful”, he said.
Jeremy simpered.
“We are on it father”, he replied.
