LUCAS’S POV

I watched as Beatrice gave me a worried look when she hugged Camilla and patted her back gently.
‘They will hurt me!’ Her scared and desperate voice petrified me in my head while I assured her no one will as I hugged her tightly to my body wondering those she was referring to as my inner soul boiled in anger ready to murder anyone who hurts her this time around.
It hurts to see her this way, I had seen her running horrifically to the library, things seems off like she was trying to run away from something terrific and drastic.
My curiosity took the best part of me as I ran after her and in no time, I caught up with her and yanked her to my side.
Her body was convulsing terribly but I held her tightly pressing her head on my chest as I felt her heart, beat wildly against her chest till she calmed down.
The bell rang again to remind students that were clustering around to be in class.
We made our way to the school’s building as Beatrice and Leticia shared Camila’s hands and held them while I followed behind them.
Some students roaming about cast me curious looks as I glanced at them with a bored look and followed suite behind Camilla.
We got into the hallway which was silent and made our way to the chemistry class as Beatrice parted ways with us after she hugged and pecked Camilla on her cheeks.
“Make sure nothing happens to her,” Beatrice glared at me while I gave her a cocky smirk as she brushed past me.
I followed behind Camilla like a bodyguard as Leticia still held her hands.
We got closer to the class and I could hear Mr. Walton teaching already in that croaky voice of his.
Camilla felt nervous as she tried to stay back.
“It’s okay!” Leticia gazed at her assuringly as we opened the door and walked into the class making everyone’s attention get diverted to us.
Mr. Walton turned to the side wondering the sudden cause of attention as he glared at us before his gaze finally rested on Camilla who glanced at him shortly before lowering her head and stared at the floor.
“Miss. Evans, we’re so sorry about what happened, please accept our sympathy, you may have your seat,” He said casting a worried look at her.
“And would you two explain why you’re late to my class?” Mr. Walton asked glaring at me and Leticia.
‘Woah! What a sudden change!’ I mused surprisedly in my mind staring at Mr. Walton with his eyes scolding us already.
“Thank you,” She said sheepishly as she was about to go to her seat when I pulled her arm making her crush on my body then placed my left hand on her waist as everyone stared with curious looks in their eyes.
“I-I uhm!” Leticia tried to answer but the words seem incoherent for her to voice out making me roll my eyes, I was expecting she would have come up with a lie or an excuse before we got here in that red hair of hers.
“Well, I had to be with my girlfriend, she’s not feeling too well and due to what just happened to her, I can’t leave her side, hope there isn’t a problem with that?” I asked egoistically as I felt Camilla go numb in my hold, guess she wasn’t expecting that while I smirked at Mr. Walton who adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose as I heard gasp and whispering among my mates.
“Very well then!” Mr. Walton said defeatedly.
“What about me?” Leticia whispered lowly for only me to hear with pleading eyes.
“Uhm Leticia forgot to count her days properly, so she didn’t know she will be on her period, “I racked my head for the possible lie I could make as she glared murderously at me.
“Seriously?” She whispered yelled glaring at me while I shrugged my shoulders at her.
“Her pants got stained and Camilla decided to lend her one of her spare skirts,” I said lowering my gaze to the short pleated skirt Leticia was wearing making the whole class break into a fit of laughter.
“That’s dumb!” She fumed lowly throwing daggers to me while I rolled my eyes with a snicker.
I earned a sidekick from Leticia as she walked to her seat.
I let go of Camilla and she hurried to her seat while my gaze sighted Jenny as I began to boil as she also stared at me shockingly at my confession but averted her gaze immediately, I don’t even know why they fucking allowed her to stay in this school.
I hate her so much…
And she had been a good girl for trying to maintain her distance from me.
I walked over to Camilla’s seat and she gave me an anxious look while I smiled at her.
“Go to my seat!” I ordered the brunette girl seating next to Camilla as I crouched down to her level.
“Ok-okay!” She said trembling packing her books on the table and went over to my seat.
I sat next to Camilla and I could feel her stiffen as she held her pen trying to crush it with a slight smirk playing on my lips as I tapped the table with my fingers.
“Okay, Everyone let’s get back to where we were,” Mr. Walton said coughing lightly as he cleared his throat to gain everyone’s attention.
5 hours later,
This was our last period in the calculus class and everyone was waiting for the bell to ring being tired of the boring class.
I noticed something weird going on with Camilla because I’ve been seating next to her since morning, I observed how she zoned out suddenly or how she would stare at everyone like they’ve grown two heads.
Something was really bothering her.
The bell rang and everyone scooted out of class before Mr. Landon could finish his boring explanation.
I hated Calculus from day one but purposely picked it because I knew Camilla was offering the subject and I could be able taunt her then.
But now, I wanted none of that for her again, I felt something stronger for her each fucking day.
I saw her hurried out of the class as I tried to follow behind.
I got into the now crowdy hallway and craned my neck through the crowded teens pushing past each other as they kept oozing out of their various classes while I searched for Camilla.
‘Where the hell did she run to?’ I fumed in my head brushing my way through the students as I tried to look for her.
