Adrian POV.
I told you once about what happened to my brother, the one who died, whose dragon took the best of him, he wasn’t strong enough, unlike Kaiden who had me, the one who got me to be there for her. Me and my parents, we aren’t on good terms, we never were, not when they kicked me out too scared of my dragon, not when my brother died. And definitely not when I asked them to come to a family visit, I thought they’d like to meet Kaiden, she’s the cutest little thing, meeting her would make anyone happy.
They said they’ll see, they didn’t assure or refuse to come to my family visit, I didn’t expect them to come, I had no call telling me that they are here if they were Anastasia would have called me. Instead, we skipped, I told Kaiden they couldn’t make it, it’s easier than explaining to her why they won’t come, or why we aren’t on good talking terms.
I was having a nice conversation with Kaiden’s parents, mostly being threatened if I hurt their daughter, good times of course! But then Anastasia called me, she said she need to talk with me, the last thing I’d expect was for my parents to be here, they weren’t here on time, they weren’t happy or excited about meeting Kaddy, instead, they were being all fussy about having to come down here.
“Is that how you greet your parents” Dad scolds me, always disappointed in me.
“You were supposed to be here in the morning,” I say, when it was the dominant parents visiting time, now it’s Kaiden’t parents time.
“Is that a way to talk to us, you should be grateful we came by” mom adds, I didn’t force them to come, they could just skip then, I wasn’t very excited about them coming really.
“How about you just leave then” I say through gritted teeth, I’m too old for this kind of treatment.
“How about we all go and take a seat then? You’re a bit late but I’m sure you can all share the next few hours” Anastasia says, guiding everyone back to our table, we took a seat in the uncomfortable silence waiting for someone to talk while I waited for them to leave. Kaiden’s mother was the first to break the silence, going on with it, I introduce my princess to them.
“I see,” dad says eyeing KAidne in disappointment, he always expected me to get a regular sub and not a little, although she’s everything I need but they wouldn’t care. The awkwardness continued but Kaiden’s parents got busy with her, asking all about her dragon, how she’s doing how far she’s gone with her studies, she’s almost ready to graduate, we just need to skip the flying lessons first.
“Where would you two move when you graduate?” her mother asks me.
“I got a place all ready for us” I answer with a smile, I’m moving as far away from my parents as possible.
“No you’ll be moving back home” dad says with a scoff.
“I would do no such thing, me and Kaiden would need our own space,” I say through gritted teeth, here they are again trying to control our lives.
“Father, I will be moving to my own place with my little, you two have no control over me” I say having enough with them.
“That’s absurd Adrian, we are your family and you’ll be living with us” dad says.
“No! I said no! That’s enough! Leave” I say my voice getting louder, I just had enough with them, with their judgmental ass.
“Adrian” Mom says with a scoff.
“I said leave, get your judgment and leave” I say having enough with them.
Once they were away from my sigh, once they left I turned back to Kaiden, she had tears in her eyes, she looked scared, holding her mother hand, I shouldn’t have yelled in front of her, but I couldn’t take them off anymore, I had to kick them out, and I did.
“I’m sorry pidge” I say offering to hold her again, I was too worried that I have scared her now.
“We move in together?” she asks.
“Yes we will, I have a house ready for the two of us” I say finally having the chance to hold her.
