Masha POV.
River is shifting, could my dragon be any happier, but we have to guide him through it, he’ll hurt himself. Right now he’s on his knees crying and screaming the pain is too much for a first time shifter. I know, we all went through it, but us dominant don’t have anyone to help us, we do it alone, only the strongest survive.
I handed Chase to Anastasia, although I loved him, but he can’t stay close to a shifting River who’ll need my whole care and attention, he could get hurt in the middle. I picked the crying River off the ground and walked toward a private place, the school knows when one of us shift we need privacy and well to make sure that we don’t hurt anyone else by mistake, a newly shifted dragon is a dangerous one, the submissive would only search for their owner, their dominant, the one who’d keep them safe and care for them forever.
I made it to the private court in a few minutes, everyone got out of my wqy, I’m more dangerous than my shifting little, I have claws and teeth that I know how to use. I set River down on the ground and got on my knees next to him, I petted his head, pushing the sweaty hair off his face. River eyes were grey and radiant, mine went white to match his, our dragons have bonded, it’s now time to get out and play. River is an air dragon, he can control the air around us, strong dominant ones can make a tornado, a baby like him, maybe a whirlwind.
“It’s time to come out” I say my voice much deeper, my dragon was out and trying to talk to him.
“Hurt, mommy, hurt” he cries, I knew he’s in pain but it’ll hurt much more if he keep fighting his dragon in.
“Out now River” I order him, I might look like the evil one, but if his dragon fails to come River might die.
“Ahhh! Ahhh!!” River cries over and over again, his hands turned to claw, his back was now covered with scales. I took a step back to shift, for the next step I’ll need to be in my dragon form, it only took me a few seconds to shift, River was halfway through, my head went against his, touching, nuzzling, giving him all the support he needs to know I’m here with him. His eyes turned to me filled with fear, pain, but also trust, he knows I’m here for him. After one scream of agony a baby dragon was now standing next to me, his scales were all grey, he was half my size, his head burried deep into my chest taking my scent in, getting familiar with me and what I mean for him, finally when he was ready he pulled back.
The grey eyes were now filled with curiosity, he did a full turn around me, he’d seen my dragon form before, but in his dragon eyes, everything is new. I stood tall and proud for him, letting him finish his inspection before standing in front of, he tried to copy my posture, the posture of the warrior. He didn’t succeed completely but it was good enough for me, his wings had spikes on their end, his tail long and smooth, he didn’t have any horns unlike me.
It was now my turn to claim him as mine, I got closer to him, taking all his scent, he smelled like human River, a bit of me, and a bit of Chase on him. My heart skipped on the last scent, if he’s carrying Chase scent does that means he’s bonding with him?
I nuzzled his neck leaving my scent, I licked his face making him pout while I laughed, I finally had my baby. I took off toward the sky watching him mimic my movement but staying on the ground, I’ll have to teach him how to fly. The baby dragon mad at not being able to fly like me, huffed and puffed, I felt some strong wind coming toward me due to his anger. To make it up for him, I used my powers, I made a vine grow up from the ground, interwoven with it’s other until it was strong enough to lift River’s weight, getting him few feet off the ground where we met. River took that as a game, jumping off my vines, each time a new branch would come up to catch the giggling dragon just in time.
