Hunter POV.
Oh my god, Logan was right, she’s the cutest, she’s the best, I only met her one time and I didn’t imagine or know that she’d be here, that she’d get to this point in life, she’s my mate’s assistant, he’s been telling me about this angel that’s working for him, that she’s the cutest girl ever, that she’s the blue we’ve been waiting for.
We’ve been alive for too many years, and we know that other vampires have been meeting humans, that they’ve been introducing them to our lifestyle step by step, we were never able to find the one for us, we searched, it’s not that we didn’t search, we have searched, we have tried to look for the one, we didn’t care if it’s he or a she, but it’s just the one that we like, the one that we need.
Now that we have taken over, we are the ones in charge, now that we are the ones ruling the world it is time for us to find the one, it’s time for us to find our future little. I knew that William was trying to find a way to get the humans and the vampires to meet, it’s time that we picked the ones for us, there was a selection of both humans and vampires, and I knew there was someone for every one of us waiting out there.
“Logan, I get it, she’s an angel,” I rolled my eyes at my mate, it’s not the first time he told me about her, since the day that the humans started working and he’s been obsessed with her, all he thinks of, all he care about was that girl, that angel.
“I get it, I get it, now I got work to do, get going,” I say pushing him toward his car, we both should get ready to work, I can’t just stay at home and talk about that mysterious angel.
I heard from my mate that he needed a ride for the angel of his, she needed a drive to work, and I agreed to get here there, my surprise when I was it was that angel I met weeks ago, it’s the girl that I met before, she never left my mind, I did hope that she’ll be the same angel that Logan been talking about, but I never expected the angels to hear my prayers, they never heard them except at that time that they sent me Logan.
I drove her to her work and left again until Logan called me again telling me to come back in, needing me, I walked into his office and saw that Angel was alone, soon she ran out of the office again saying she forgot her tablet, it all felt as if she belonged to us, running to get her tablet so she could play her games maybe or maybe watch a movie. I went toward my mate, in the future if she became ours, we’d take advantage of these times to get near each other, I went in for a kiss, and the next thing I felt was her little arms trying to pull me back.
In my head, she’d pull me back wanting hugs of her own, or maybe wanting to get my attention, but in my imagination, this would have never happened, and I didn’t know how to deal with it, Logan started and I finished this thing, I couldn’t help letting her go, she should know that we’re more serious than being just her boss and his mate, we want to be a lot more.
“Since we’re going all out, how about I just tell you that we have our eyes on you,” I say making my mate fume with anger, he prefers taking things a lot slower, but if we go with the rhythm that he wants to set by now we’d still be dating, or maybe he’d just agree to give me a chance to be my mate, and he does the same with the littles, he take it too slow, and I can’t take things that slow.
“I… I… thank you,” she says blushing, so she didn’t object.
“She hasn’t met any blue yet, we’re the first ones she met,” Logan says.
“Then we better off stealing her, before other colours try to steal her from us,” I say knowing too well that others would want to take her over, that they want her to be theirs, even if she’s blue.
“I like you both, I feel safe around you,” she says which was a big plus, she’s talking to us and she feels safe around us, that’s step one in getting her to trust us.
“We’re happy that you feel safe around us,” Logan says with a big smile on his face.
“That’s a great step one, I know I can’t push Logan any further and it’s best if we take things slow from here, how about we call a break for now, we’re not going to push you any further, let’s start our work and see how things would go from here?” I asked them both, I knew Logan needed his time to process everything and I had my feeling that they both shared that habit.
“Deal,” they both say at the same time, and I knew I got them both right, they needed that, they needed their time to think things through.
“Now back to work, what do you need from me?” I ask Logan, who looks at the time, it was late, this whole thing took some time, and they’ve been busy the whole day.
“Guys, uhhh… I’m sorry,” Angel says picking the tablet off the ground, it had a small crack on the side of the screen due to the fall it just endured.
“Let me see,” I say and she hands me over it, I checked the tablet, it was still working, the crack was mostly in the screen protection and not in the screen.
“It’s fine, Logan can get someone to change the protection,” I say handing it back.
“Right, I’ll tell my assistant,” Logan says with a wink to her, she’s his assistant.
“Back to work guys,” I say, if I leave them they’d keep on giggling and sharing winks between them two.
“We need to start pulling resources we need you here to help set a security plan,” Logan answers me.
“Any plan where this festival is going to happen?” I ask, first, they need to pick a place to check if it’s possible to keep it safe or not.
“We need an open place, and we need to get the games ready,” Logan says, and I nod, am I the one to pick the space or them?
“Yes, give me an address Logan,” I say looking at him with a raised brow, I turned slightly at Angel and saw that she was busy writing notes, Logan turned his laptop back on and started to pull out potential spaces, some of them had some potentials while others were a big no.
“The behind is too open,” I say pointing to the location pictures.
“What are we protecting it from? Didn’t the vampire take over?” Angel asks and we both turn to her with a smile, she’s cute and innocent, thinking black and white, true the vampires have taken over, but that doesn’t mean that troubles don’t happen anymore.
“Other colours might decide to crash this event, black and red mostly, they’d see all the lights and would want to participate, the problem with the black and red vampires, is they scare the blue, and they don’t know how to hold back. We want all the human blue to feel free and safe,” I explain the things to her, black and red love teasing the blues, and they love scaring them as well.
“Oh, okay, but some blacks are nice, Silas is nice,” she says with a blush, that’s the only black she had interfered with.
“Silas is an old vampire, he got two mates instead of one, he’s a mixed code, the green win in his case,” Logan explains to her.
“What about Ryan?” she asks sounding scared, she doesn’t mean the same Ryan that we’re planning on killing, he and Logan always hated each other.
“We don’t talk about Ryan, how about we skip him and only pay attention to the ones that are like us?” I ask her, Ryan was the coldest kind out there, he’s perfect to someone who’s like him, and that’s the complete opposite of Angel.
“Help me here Hunter, what about this place?” Logan asks showing me another location, this one could be secrued from all the places, it’s closed and easy to contain.
“How many people can it hold?” I ask next, we also need to make sure not to break protocol with how many people we are stuck in one location.
“I’ll run the numbers,” Logan says clicking a couple of times on his laptop, I noticed that Angel has moved from trying to take notes, to just exploring her tablet, clicking on different applications.
“How about this?” Logan asks me showing me the number, it’s a safe number, a lot less than what we would have and that was a safe bet.
“We’ll take this one, let me get the full address and tell my people to run the bus and how to get the code blue there,” I say agreeing with him.
“You only have to worry about bringing them in, if things go according to play they won’t need anyone to take them back,” Logan says with a wink.
“Logan, are we done for the night? Do you need something else?” I ask him, we’ve been sitting here for hours, and all of us were starting to get tired.
“I think that’s it, the logistics would be run tomorrow,” Logan says.
“Then let’s leave?” I ask and he agrees, he gets up and gets his files ready to leave for the day.
“Do you have to take your car? I can drive us home and bring you here in the morning,” I suggest to Logan, or someone could bring his car home if needed.
“You drive us,” Logan agrees with a smile, I placed a hand over his waist ready to get home and get what I was promised, Logan offered a hand to Angel that she took willingly.
“Ready to go home munchkin?” I asked her as we were going down the elevator, at the mention of home, her smile dropped and she looked worried.
“Yeah, home… sure,” she says and I knew then that something was off with home, I squeezed Logan’s waist a bit more pointing to Angel until he understood what was going on.
“Actually Hunter, I have a late meeting and we need to finish taking notes for this festival/carnival thingy, and I have an early meeting, how about we just take Angel along, she can sleep in the guest room and it’ll be much easier than going back and forth,” Logan suggests.
“Great idea, that way you won’t have to worry about getting up early and coming to the company,” I say, and she looked worried still.
“Just do what your boss says,” I say trying to get her to say yes.
“Okay boss,” she says but I could tell she was relieved that she’s not going home yet.
“Guy, I need you to drive yourself home, I need to run a quick errand, I’ll get dinner on my way,” I lied looking at my phone, needing some time alone to check what was behind all of this.
“Okay, sure,” Logan says knowing me enough to know that I had something else on my mind.
I got in my car and started driving toward the building where half of the little ones were staying, I parked my car and got out, walking inside the building, planning on asking Evelyn about what was going on.
I walked into the building, going toward the security guy wanting to ask him if there was anything suspicious going around here, before I went upstairs to talk to Evelyn, telling her that she was going to stay with us for the night, or the next couple nights.
“Hunter, what are you doing in my building? You and Logan are taking over here too?” Ryan asks me from behind, I turn to him with a glare, it’s go time, first lead him to the mall.
“No, I’m here to talk to Evelyn, we stole one of her littles,” I say with a big toothy smile, making Ryan pout and keep moving, now I know the reason why she didn’t want to go home.
