Logan POV.
She was late, and I didn’t understand what happened or if she was okay, Evelyn sent a message saying that she couldn’t send her early in the morning, she’s supposed to be here at nine top, or it depends on my schedule, some days we start early, others not so much.
I knew I had to respect Evelyn’s order, if she said that the baby should stay home and rest, then the baby was better off sleeping in her bed. I waited for Evelyn to give me an update on her, the final update was that she needed a ride to work, I couldn’t drop my work and go to the house, instead, I had to use someone’s help, and I had to call my one and only.
“Hunter,” I say in my cutest voice, and to be honest I’m not cute, I was never called cute in my life, even when I and Hunter met the nicest thing he ever called me was lovey-dovey, never cute, and I never managed to make any kind of puppy eyes or kitten eyes, and I knew for sure that pet play wasn’t the thing for us.
“The answer is no,” Hunter says in a firm voice, he’s mad at me, he got mad at me last night for ruining his chances of having a sexy night with me.
“I didn’t ask yet,” I say with a real pout, I didn’t get the chance to tell him what I need or want, and he said no right away.
“Last night, I did ask and you said no,” he says, so he’s still mad at me for last night.
“Today the answer is going to be yes, but I need you to do something for me,” I beg him, I know he won’t say no to me, not when it comes to a blue.
“What do you want?” he asks me in a cold voice, the answer is still no, but it’s not for me.
“I need you to drive my assistant here, she had to stay in this morning and I can’t leave to get her, so please, pretty please Hunter can you drive her over to work?” I beg my mate, I shouldn’t need to beg my mate to do a thing for me, but Hunter was one hell of a stubborn mate, and he doesn’t play nice when he doesn’t get his way at night.
“The blue assistant? The one you told me about?” he asks me, I have told him about her, I told him that I had my eye on her, we’re two blue mates with no human, and we need the human soon, as soon as possible, and since we took over the world this is our chance to find that human, to find the one that’s going to be ours.
“Yes, her,” I say.
“I’m doing this for the love of blue, not you,” he says making me chuckle, as long as he gets her here.
“Thank you, baby, tonight you’re gonna get lucky,” I assure him, ending the call.
The meeting went perfectly, she was the one to help us solve our biggest problem with how to get the two species to meet, we’ll need a more intense solution for the years to come, but for now, these kinds of solutions are perfect they are what we need. William decided to buy everyone lunch, it’s his way of celebrating whenever we get something done, especially a big thing like this one, I offered Angel a hand and she agreed to hold mine as we walked out of the office and toward the private cafeteria on the upper floors, the one that belongs to William and Dylan.
I noticed Ryan looking at her, and I saw how she shied away every time, I didn’t understand what that was about, but I made sure to keep her near me, hiding her from Ryan, he knows better than looking or talking to a blue, she’s not his type or one that he should be coming near.
The food was served family style, we all took our seats and we passed along the dishes, Ryan didn’t manage to sit near us, instead, he sat facing us.
“Sir William, when are you going to explain to everyone what the codes are standing for?” Mia asks while we eat, she’s right, we need to explain the meaning of the codes, and what they are getting themselves into.
“After the three main events and after having everyone find their someone, I’ll go on public TV and tell them,” William answered her.
“The vampires could explain to the humans,” Ryan suggests.
“No, don’t explain anything, I don’t want them to worry and tell each other, the order is still out, no one tell them anything until I decide to,” William says stopping him, I looked at Angel who looked very curious she wants to know what’s this about.
After lunch, I noticed that Mia, Alec and Angel were talking to each other, they were becoming good friends which was great since they all work together in the same office, I was glad that those two were here during this meeting, they were the ones who had to help me set everything.
“Time to get back to work, go ahead, bye everyone,” William says telling all of us to get back to work, we all go toward our offices, and I notice that Ryan went down to our floor as well.
“Ryan, a word,” I say as we get in, letting the three humans walk ahead of us.
“Yes?” Ryan says following me toward my office, I allowed him in and then I closed the door behind us.
“Ryan, how are you?” I say with a fake smile, he knows better, we were never on the same page before, and we don’t see eye to eye.
“I’m doing just fine Logan, what about you? How’s that mate of yours?” he says with disgust, he knows I’m in a gay relationship with Hunter.
“My mate is fine, so I saw that you’ve been too close to my personal helpers,” I say talking in general, he’s been friendly with both Mia and Alec since they joined us. This company has been going for a long while but under an alias name, and now we get to be out and proud, D&L company, Dom and Little company, a company based on finding humans mates and partners to the dominant vampires.
“Silas doesn’t mind that I’m close to his subs, and Angel doesn’t have an owner yet,” he says knowing too well what I mean.
“But you should know she’s blue, you’re not supposed to be near blue,” I warn him.
“Why not? She’s cute and all, she’s a free game,” he says.
“She’s not your kind, you can’t promise her anything,” I say through gritted teeth.
“I don’t need to be hers, I could just have some fun with her,” Ryan says which pissed me off.
“She’s not a plaything Ryan, don’t you dare get near her,” I say ready to beat his ass, we’ve had our share amount of fights, and I’m not afraid of having another fight.
“She’s human, isn’t that why we killed the other ones? The one that aren’t submissives, the ones that aren’t compatible with us,” Ryan says.
“It doesn’t work that way, we’ve killed the other ones to live in peace, not to take advantage of them,” I remind Ryan of our main plan, and not the sick one he got in his mind.
“They love being played with,” Ryan says.
“She’s blue, she’s delicate, and playing with her is the last thing she got on her mind, she might not even be into sex,” I say, Blue aren’t sexual creatures, they don’t always care about sex, we got each other, we wouldn’t care or think twice of her for sex.
“All the humans are into sex,” Ryan says.
“No they aren’t Ryan,” I say through gritted teeth having enough with him.
“They are, you just have to know how to deal with them,” Ryan says.
“Ryan, I’m going to tell you this one time and one time only, don’t you dare get near Angel, don’t touch Angel, and don’t talk to her unless if needed,” I say in a firm voice, it’s the voice that would get any submissive to obey me.
“Last night, she spent the whole night with me, she was so soft and obedient,” he says in a teasing voice.
“Liar,” I say knowing she didn’t, not with the reaction she was showing today, or did something happen and that got her to act this way.
“I don’t lie, why don’t you got and ask her. Now if you excuse me, I have some clubs to call and nights to plan,” Ryan says leaving my office, if looks could kill, he’d drop dead by now, I called Hunter, he’s the only one that I trust, and he’s the only one that I could talk to, and whine to.
“Other requests baby? Lube? Restrains? Gag ball?” my mate says through the phone, making me roll my eyes at him, he’s a one object kind of guy.
“I need to whine, please,” I say begging my mate with a whiney voice.
“Go ahead what happened,” he answer me.
“Ryan, the jerk in my company, he said that he touched Angel, and I mean physical touch, distract me before I go out there and kill him,” I say, hoping he’d help me think of something else, other than my anger toward him right now.
“Distract you? Honey, I can help you make it look like an accident,” Hunter answer me.
“Hunter, that doesn’t work, please tell me not to,” I beg him.
“Just tell him to meet you in one of the old resistance places, how about their headquarter, I helped clean that out, I know we can kill him, make it look like the humans have done it, and then say we forgot about him, we didn’t see him when we cleaned up,” Hunter says with a smile in his voice, I could tell that he wasn’t joking about any of this.
“You are too good at your job Hunter, you wouldn’t miss a dead body the size of Ryan,” I say with a sigh.
“Right and he was seen in the company earlier today,” Hunter agrees wiht me which made me smile, he just knew how to lift my spirits.
“How about you come by the company? I could use your help,” I say meanign the words.
“You want to do a quickie in your office, it’s been a while since we did that,” he says making me laugh out loud.
“Hunter, baby, I promised you’d be lucky tonight, but for now, I need you to come over as detectibe Hunter Black, I need help organizing a festival,” I say, we need the police help, we need their protection, it has to look like a regular festival for all the blue to feel safe.
“On my way, and maybe after we’re done talking, I can arrest you for teasing me, giving me blue balls,” Hunter teases, he saw nothing of the teasing yet.
“We’d see,” I answer him ending the call, I should call Angel to come here and help me take notes, and we can both tease Hunter together, I called her desk.
“Hello,” Angel answers me, she sounded scared again, was Ryan in her office.
“Who’s in the office with you,” I ask her.
“Yes sir, Mia and Alec are both here,” she says, but I could tell it wasn’t just those two.
“Someone else?” I ask her.
“Yes, sir,” she answers me.
“Angel, I need you in my office right away, leave everything behind, we need to work on the festival preparation,” I say and she hums in response before ending the call and running toward my office, she looked pale and scared.
“Are you okay Angel?” I ask her, getting up from my seat, looking at her with fear.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” she answers me with worry, but I didn’t believe that she’s fine, I was still worried about her.
“Sit down, I’ll get you some water,” I say, deciding to go with Hunter’s plan and killing Ryan before the day ends.
