Angel POV.
After our lunch, we went back to work, Mia was starting to stop being mean to me, and Alec was talking to me, he opened topics and talked about his work while I talked about mine, as much as I knew about mine.
“Glad everyone is having fun in here, are my papers done?” Logan asks in a firm voice coming into the office.
“Yes, Sir, Wolf came in and collected them,” Mia says making puppy eyes at Logan, or maybe she’s trying to bat her eyes, maybe she thinks she’s flirting, but she’s not doing it well.
“Thank you, Mia, are you treating Angel well?” he asks, and I could tell him that she called me a bitch who slept with the boss, but I decided against it.
“We’re becoming best friends,” Mia says and Logan just raises a brow at her.
“Well it’s as friendly as Mia would allow anyone to be with her, she still calls me that thing,” Alec says and I couldn’t help but laugh, that’s funny.
“Mia, don’t call Alec a thing, he’s technically your brother now,” Logan says coming in and taking a seat on my desk.
“We’re not brothers, not even close, we do things siblings would never do,” Mia says with a wink at Logan.
“In the story, you read Mia, they do even worse,” Alec says making her blush, she reads that kind of story, and I want to read one or two as well.
“Can you stop embarrassing me?” she asks in an annoyed voice.
“Where’s the fun in that Mia?” Logan says making me chuckle, along with Alec who found it funny to annoy his sister or partner, I don’t know what they are really, but they are something.
“I’m sure you’ll find fun in doing something else, like look at me going to Silas’s office,” Mia says leaving the office.
“Come on Mia, don’t go snitching on me,” Alec begged her.
“I’m not gonna snitch, I’m going to spend some time with him,” she says but she sounds uncertain.
“Wait Mia, take this with you, tell him I need his signature on this, and that we’re done for the day,” Logan says finding a paper to send with her.
“Who’s Silas?” I asked after she was gone from the office.
“Silas is the vampire we both belong to and if you haven’t guessed it yet, she’s the brat between the two of us but we both love her very much,” Alec says with an eye roll.
“I meant it Alec, get your stuff and hers, you both can leave,” Logan assures him, Alec got his stuff and Mia’s bag and left the office.
“Logan, what’s their job in here? If I’m your assistant and all?” I asked him confused about what my job is exactly.
“They are my assistant as well, not personal though, they are more of legal workers for me, and you help me personally, I mean workwise, you help me with all the meetings and those things,” he says and I nod, I understood it now.
“Am I done for the day as well?” I ask him since he sent them home, maybe I can’t leave unless I too have a vampire who’s in charge of me.
“Yes, you’re done as well, come on get your things I’ll get you home,” he says and I nod, we left the company and he drove me home, I had to ask Nala who was driving her to and back from the job, was the bus still coming every day? I don’t get to see it since Logan is driving me, thankfully today I wasn’t too tired and I can stay awake through the whole drive home, and I’m sure I can stay awake for dinner and maybe the movie afterwards.
“So how was your day?” Logan asks me.
“I met Ryan, and Mia called me a bad name but then she apologized so it’s all okay now, and I think we might be friends after today,” I say with a smile, I think we are friends now.
“Mia’s first response is to be rude and mean, but Silas has been working on her attitude for a couple of months now, she’ll get over that reflex soon, hopefully for her safety,” Logan says.
“Why would she be in danger?” I ask him, worried about her, is she being abused?
“Not danger, but she’ll be in trouble with him, and she won’t be too happy about being scolded or grounded,” he says.
“But she’s not a child, he can’t ground her,” I say right away, I have never been grounded before.
“Well since she lives in his home and he’s the one in charge of her, he can punish her by not allowing her to go to the mall for a couple of days,” he says.
“But she’s not a child,” I say again.
“Compared to him, she’s just a baby really, and she knew about all the rules and punishment before she went into a relationship with Silas,” he explained.
“Ohh… and what about Alec? Does he know?” I ask.
“Of course, they are in arrangement, they both are consenting,” Logan says, he parked the car and it was time for me to go down to my home.
“Bye, Logan, see you tomorrow,” I say waving at him as I left the car, when I walked inside the building, the security guy just nodded at me letting me in right away, not calling me back or asking about any kind of slip or permission. I clicked the elevator and waited for the door to open, but it wasn’t empty, a guy I recognized was standing in the middle of the elevator.
“Look who we got here,” he says with a smile on his face.
“Hey, what are you doing here?” I ask him, not sure what he’s doing in the same building as me.
“I live here,” he says, and I shake my head not believing him.
“Nu-uh, you don’t,” I say pretty sure of my words.
“Oh yeah, I do,” he says but I don’t believe him still.
“Nope, you’re a stalker or something,” I say, that was the best explanation I got.
“Not a stalker princess, I actually live here, how about I show you my place?” he says.
“That’s what they say in the horror movies,” I answer him.
“Come on princess, I wouldn’t dare to murder you in this building. Too many vampires, they’d smell the blood,” he says coming closer to me, making me jump with a scream.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry princess, come on, let me invite you to dinner, I make one mean steak,” he says.
“A bloody stake?” I ask him with a raised brow, it would be very fitting for a vampire to eat a raw stake.
“Very fitting, I love the way you think, come on, we missed your stop, let’s keep going,” he says, I looked at the elevator number and he’s right we have missed my stop.
“I don’t eat raw stake,” I warn him since I’m going with it.
“I’d never serve you a raw stake, a pink one maybe,” he says.
“I prefer it well done, please,” I beg him.
“Princess, don’t tell me to cook it well done, I’ll do it close enough, and maybe I can serve you some drinks, but don’t you dare tell Evelyn on me,” he says with a wink.
“I won’t tell her,” I assure him, I wouldn’t mind drinking, we stopped at his floor which was above mine, we walked out and went toward one of the apartments, he opened the door and walked in, allowing me in, his apartment was fancy looking, he guided me right toward the kitchen.
“Take a seat princess, I’ll start on the stake,” he says getting them out of the fridge, and then got two tall wine glasses, he poured two drinks for the two of us, handing me one.
“Thank you,” I say with a smile, taking a small sip of it.
“You’re welcome princess, how did the rest of your day go?” he asks me.
“I found out that Mia and Lucas are in some kind of relationship,” I say.
“They are, you can say it’s a polyamory relationship,” he explains to me.
I was enjoying my drink when my phone rang, I looked at who was calling me, and saw it was Evelyn which was weird, I didn’t know why she called me, so I answered it.
“Hello,” I say answering the call.
“Angel baby, are you lost in the building? Are you over at one of the girl’s apartments?” she asks me.
“No, I’m at Ryan’s place,” I say, and she goes silent for a second.
“Please, give the phone to Ryan,” she says in a cold voice.
“Uhhh… Ryan she wants to talk to you,” I say handing the phone over.
“Whom?” Ryan asks confused.
“Evelyn,” I say, and he takes the phone with a sigh.
“Evelyn, my love,” he says, and I could hear her yell and scream on the phone, but it wasn’t English that I could understand, it was another language.
“Evelyn, my love, it would be okay, we’re just having dinner,” he answers her in English.
“Bye, sweetie, bye” he says ending the call.
“Am I in trouble?” I ask him with fear, taking my phone back, I can just run back downstairs and have dinner with the girls.
“No, you’re not, Evelyn wasn’t too happy about me stealing one of her girls,” he says starting to plate our food, placing them in front of us and taking his seat facing me.
“Go ahead dive in,” he says and I took the first bite, I moaned with happiness, it was heaven sent, how come the vampires are such good chefs?
“How come the best food I ever had is made by vampires?” I ask Ryan.
“We had years to perfect the dishes,” he answered me.
“Do you eat food? or just blood?” I ask him next.
“We eat both, we could survive on just blood, but the artificial blood doesn’t taste that good, this food is much better,” he says eating another bite of his food, his stake was perfectly pink, not red, cooked to perfection or that’s what they say on the TV and cooking shows usually.
“What colour are you Ryan,” I say next and he laughed, he actually laughed at me.
“How about you try to get to know me and guess?” he says.
“But I don’t know much about colours, how am I supposed to know?” I ask him.
“You know you’re blue, look at yourself, and compare, do you think I’m blue too?” he says.
“But what about the other colours? I don’t know anything about them,” I say.
“I’m sure you know some things about other colours, go ahead, tell me what did you find out about them?” he says.
“Nothing…” I say with blushing cheeks trying to get busy eating the food and avoiding his eyes.
“Liar, you can’t lie on a vampire child, we’d always find out, so go ahead and tell me, it’ll be funny to see what you found out so far,” he says.
“But you won’t be mad?” I say trying to ensure my safety.
“I’d never be mad at you, not you princess, go ahead, tell me,” he says trying to get me to talk, and so I decided to tell him.
“I found out so far that blue are like us, we’re not sure what we are, but we’re scared and excited at the same time, but the blue vampires are more confident, but they are nice and thoughtful, they are softer kind of vampires, I guess,” I start talking, describing how I’m seeing Logan.
“That’s fair enough, what about green?” he says next.
“Full of energy puppies, sometimes scared kittens,” I say saying back what Dylan told me along with my observation of Ethan in the cafeteria.
“That’s very close actually, go ahead, what’s next, black?” he says.
“Black is mean, confident enough to be evil,” I say describing Mia, he laughed out loud when he heard that, he actually laughed at me which made me pout.
“Hey, not fair! You said that you’ll be nice,” I say with a big pout.
“I also said it would be funny, I’m having fun in here,” he says with a shrug making me pout.
“I don’t want to tell you anymore,” I say, deciding to just finish my food and go down to my room.
“Come on, tell me about red, what do you know about those, you don’t have one of those in your office,” he says.
“I was told to hide from red,” I say and he laughs.
“They were right, hide, run from red, never stay with red,” he says laughing out loud.
“What’s so funny, are you red?” I ask him with a raised brow.
“That’s not an educated answer, you didn’t run, so you don’t know for sure,” he says making me pout.
“I’m gonna find out what you are one way or another,” I say with a raised brow and he just laughs.
“Be my guest princess,” he assures me with a smile.
