Facing Brandon’s threat, Quentin remained indifferent and leisurely lit a cigarette.
“Kid, you’re still acting tough when you’re about to die?! Are you scared stiff?”
“Hand over anything valuable on you, and leave the girl behind. Then I’ll let you go!”
Brandon’s face was lecherous as he pressed the knife towards Quentin. Quentin slowly exhaled a puff of smoke in Brandon’s direction.
“Damn it, you’re asking for death!”
Seeing Quentin’s provocation, Brandon became furious and thrust his knife towards Quentin.
Quentin, unflinching in the face of danger, moved even faster. He easily grabbed Brandon’s knife-wielding hand and twisted it forcefully.
“Ah, it hurts! It hurts! Let go of me, let go!”
Brandon’s face contorted in pain, and he couldn’t bear it. The knife fell from his hand to the ground.
The more Brandon struggled, the harder Quentin twisted, causing him to cry out in pain and collapse to his knees.
“Bro! I’m sorry! I know I was wrong! I won’t dare do it again!”
Brandon pleaded bitterly.
“Weren’t you quite arrogant just now? Why are you begging for mercy now?”
Quentin sneered coldly, making Brandon’s hair stand on end.
“Bro, I didn’t recognize Mount Tai just now. I deserve to die. Please spare me!”
Brandon begged as he slapped his own face.
Brandon was terrified; he hadn’t expected this seemingly frail young man to be so ruthless.
Quentin ignored him and kicked Brandon in the face. Brandon’s eyes rolled back, and he passed out.
“Where are we now?” Quentin asked Eileen.
“Sir, there’s no signal in this area, so I can’t check the map,” Eileen replied helplessly.
“No problem, we’ll just drive back.”
So the two of them got into a taxi and left, leaving Brandon unconscious on the ground.
After driving for a while, Eileen’s phone finally got a signal.
It was already late at night, the surroundings quiet and the wind howling.
“Sir, it’s already early morning.”
“If we drive there, we might only arrive by morning,” Eileen said.
“If that’s the case, it will delay our trip to Miao Territory,” Quentin said.
“How about I call Caleb to send a helicopter to pick us up?”
Eileen suggested. Quentin nodded silently.
Eileen dialed Caleb’s number.
“Who is it?! Calling in the middle of the night and disturbing my sleep!”
Caleb angrily answered the phone.
“It’s me,” Eileen said coldly.
“Huh? Eileen?! Hehe, what brings you calling so late?”
Caleb recognized Eileen’s voice and immediately softened. After all, if this woman really wanted to fight, he would only be on the receiving end.
“Mr. Holland is here. I’ll send you our location. Send a helicopter to pick us up immediately.”
Eileen instructed.
“Quentin is in Atia! Wait for me; I’ll be right there!”
Eileen hung up the phone. Quentin continued to smoke to stay alert as they quietly waited for Caleb to arrive.
The stars and moon shone brightly in the sky.
Eileen and Quentin gazed at the vast night sky. Eileen wished time could stop at this moment, with just her and Quentin together.
Five years ago, she had been a disgraced heiress abandoned by her family. Back then, Quentin was just an ordinary young man from the North. If he hadn’t risked his life to save her from a pack of wild wolves, she would have long become their meal!
From that moment on, she vowed to live only for Quentin.
But time inevitably passes. Soon, the loud sound of a helicopter broke their tranquility.
A helicopter hovered above them and dropped a long rope ladder.
Eileen and Quentin climbed up one after the other, and Caleb pulled them into the helicopter.
“Eileen! Quentin!”
Caleb exclaimed excitedly and hugged Quentin.
This man had tiger-like eyes and muscles that exuded power. His uniform was adorned with several medals.
He initially wanted to hug Eileen too but stopped when she gave him a cold glare.
“Thank goodness I didn’t hug her; otherwise, I’d be dead meat again,” Caleb thought, sweating profusely.
“Caleb, there’s no need to be so enthusiastic,” Quentin said helplessly. “We’re all on the same side.”
Caleb snapped out of it and realized he was still hugging Quentin tightly, looking very much like a couple. He quickly let go and scratched his head awkwardly.
“Haha, it’s just that I haven’t seen you in so long, Quentin!”
“Why didn’t you let me know you were coming to Atia?”
“So, what’s brought you here all of a sudden?”
Caleb asked.
“We’re just here for a few days to take care of some business. No need to make a big fuss.”
On the way, Quentin explained his purpose for coming to Atia in detail to Caleb.
“Quentin, you’re going to such a dangerous place as Miao Territory?”
“It’s incredibly risky for just the two of you to go in there without any support. I’ll bring some people with you!”
“There are all sorts of strange poisons and witchcraft there; it’s terrifying!”
Caleb was shocked after hearing Quentin’s plan.
“No need; the two of us are enough.”
“You should know our capabilities by now.”
“And if we need supplies, we have you.”
Quentin laughed and patted Caleb on the shoulder.
“Haha, true enough. Once we get to headquarters, you can take whatever you need.”
Caleb laughed heartily. No wonder Quentin and Eileen didn’t bring anything; they had planned to get everything from him all along.
After flying for a while, they finally arrived above Atia War Zone Headquarters. The helicopter slowly descended onto an open field.
The three of them got off the helicopter and headed to the war zone camp, where numerous soldiers were already waiting to greet them.
“Welcome General Quincy and Lady Eileen to Atia War Zone Headquarters!”
The soldiers saluted Quentin and Eileen with great respect.
Quentin and Eileen returned the salute and followed Caleb back to The War King Barracks.
