Olivia gasped, widening her eyes in shock as she glanced at mother, who’s eyes were now moistened.
“No mom, that’s not possible, the doctor can find another way. I’m sure of that.” Olivia babbled, her eyes clouding with tears, as she grabbed her mother’s hands.
Lily, smiled sadly, suppressing the tears that were about to escape her eyes. She patted Olivia’s arms, giving her a reassuring look.
Just then, the doctor walked in. With a smile etched on his face, he shook Olivia’s hands and nodded gently at Lily.
“I’m glad you’re okay, hope you weren’t…”
“Ohh thank you doctor, I’m very fine.” Olivia chipped in, quickly interrupting what the doctor was about to say. She knew what he was going to say, and it was something she didn’t want to talk about, especially not in front of her mother.
The doctor seemed to understand and nodded his head, not bringing back the topic. His gaze darted towards Lily, who was laying on the bed, and he smiled, reassuringly.
“Let’s talk in my office.” The doctor said, dining drew tests on Lily, before leaving the office with Olivia.
“Mom I’d be right back.” She said, before leaving.
“I’m sorry about the abrupt interruption earlier. I just don’t want to discuss it with my mom, not yet.” Olivia apologized.
The doctor smiled, “it’s fine dear, you need not to apologize. I understand.
Olivia nodded.
The doctor cleared his throat, and adjusted his rimless glasses, before he began.
“I’m sure your mom already told you about her leg.”
“Yeah, it’s not true right?” Olivia asked, her voice tensed and impatient.
The doctor took in a deep breath, before returning his gaze at her and nodded. “It’s true dear, the brain tumor affected her cellebrum and wasn’t removed on the earlier stage, leading to hemiplegia.”
Olivia’s eyes stung with pain, at the doctor’s words. She quickly wiped her tears, “You mean, my mom can’t walk again, in her entire life, she remains static? No, there’s another right, you can do it.” she sobbed, grabbing the doctor’s hands.
The doctor’s heart ached, but he couldn’t do anything as there wasn’t any other solution. If he was to go ahead and perform another surgery on her, she might not make it.
He shook his head, patting her back to reassure her that everything would be fine.
Olivia’s hatred for her father grew intense, afterall it was all his fault. After her mom did everything for him, even abandoned her family, just to get married to him, yet he forsake her when she needed him the most. And was actually paying Ava’s tuition fee, which was way higher than the bill itself.
Olivia marked it in her heart to make her father regret it, to make him pay for it was all his fault.
When she went back to her mom’s ward, the woman was already asleep, Olivia kissed her face and left. Her heart still ached, that her mother won’t be able to use her feet again.
Morgan was wide awake, when Olivia returned to the hospital. He was having a coffee, probably made by Nicholas.
He seemed to notice her presence and looked up, his brows deepened as he saw her puffy and red face, obviously gotten from crying.
“Come here.” Morgan said, motioning for her to come to him.
Nicholas need not be told to leave the room. If anything, Nicholas knew that Morgan cared for Olivia, if not the young master he knew, wasn’t one to care about someone’s feelings or emotion. He even got himself shot, trying to save her.
It was good, yet very bad.
“Your chest?” Olivia asked, her eyes flickering to the area where he was shot.
“Have they offended you?” He asked, ignoring her question.
Olivia shook her head, she brought herself to tell him that her mom had hemiplegia and might not be able to walk again. It might even sound like she’s trying to extort money from him.
Unknown to her, Morgan already knew of it, but pretended not to anything.
“How’s your chest feeling?” She asked, discarding his question.
Morgan chuckled, “Do you want to see for yourself?”
“No.” Olivia was sharp to decline.
She couldn’t bear to look at an injury, which she caused. Olivia blamed herself for Morgan’s injury, if she had not been friends with Xavier, then this wouldn’t have happened.
She shook her head and glanced at Morgan, her eyes moistening again. “I’m sorry.” She mumbled.
Morgan frowned, “Why are you sorry?”
“I…I caused it, your injury, I shouldn’t have been friends with him, I didn’t know he was this bad. I…” her lips quivered, she caught it between her lips, so they would stop shaking.
She didn’t get to finish her words, as Morgan pulled her into a kiss, his large and rough thumb caressing her neck.
“It’s good, you know better. Just stay away from him.” he hummed, pulling away from her.
She nodded, and remained silent.
“Nicholas would take you home now. No more tears, got it?”
Olivia nodded, wiping the remains of her tears. Just then, the door opened and Nicholas walked inside, he whispered something into Morgan’s ears, which got him frowning.
“Take her home, first.”
Larry’s House**
“Mom, guess who I saw today?” Ava exclaimed, falling into one of the couches in the living room.
“Ohh Ava dear, you know I’m not good with guessing. Spill it already, will you?”
Ava laughed, “Mom you’re so boring.” She rolled her eyes.
“Mom, I finally found the hospital where Olivia’s mother was kept. But mom, what if Olivia ends up being richer than us, she sure is going to make us suffer.”
“Will you stop it already? That bitch has no right to rule over us, even if she had a billion fortune. Afterall I have a secret that could shatter her.” she spat, biting her tongue when she realized her last sentence.
“Mom? What secret?” Ava asked, not failing to hear it.
“Oh dear, it’s nothing.” She said, faking a smile.
Ava studied her mom for a while, “You should know that, I know when you’re lying or not.”
Hilda laughed, “You’re so curious, now you want me to tell you that I’m going to have another baby, it’s a boy.”
“Mom, are you serious right now?”
“Of course dear. If not why would he be doing everything for me, hmm? He definitely would hand over everything to us.” She said, hope filled in her voice.
“Mom, I’m so happy!! I’m going to have a younger brother. I bet Olivia is the only thing that Lily bitch can give birth to.” Ava exclaimed in happiness.
“Now you know why, I can’t stress my brain guessing. I don’t want to stress my baby.” She sighed.
“You’re right. Olivia seems to be happy, her sugar daddy is taking care of her mom’s hospital bills and mom you wouldn’t believe that she’s now schooling and in the Red crest for Jesus sake!”
“Red Crest?”
“Yes mom, and she’s going about causing trouble, everyone at school hates her.”
“She’d always be like her mother, a bed egg wherever she went. I’m going to visit her, so she’d be able to see what it means to be a woman. She can’t even give birth to a son.”
They both fell into a fit of laughter.
In a not so dark room, a man chained to a chair, was seen struggling to get free from the chain, but the more he struggled, the bigger his injury and pain.
His skin was split open, blood gushing out, as he kept struggling.
“Ahhhhh!! Morgan you asshole, get me out of here!” He growled angrily, stretching his voice.
Outside the room, stood three men, who seemed to be guarding the place. They could no longer ignore the man’s painful and loud growls.
“Go make him shut up.” Ordered one of them.
