Morgan was in the doctor’s office, he had told Nicholas to go through all his conversation and previous calls.
As confused as the doctor was, he couldn’t say no to Morgan and let them search his phone. His recent calls showed that he called Olivia earlier that morning.
“How come?” Morgan asked, his dark gaze scrutinizing him.
It was possible that anyone could bribe the doctor to call Olivia that morning. Morgan knew he was better than that, but right then, Olivia was concerned, the matter was about her.
“I swear I know nothing about this call, I didn’t call her in the morning.” He defended, shaking his head in refusal.
“If so, think very well, did you bump into someone who seems suspicious?” Nicholas chipped in.
The doctor paused, his brows knitted slightly as he racked his brains, to recall how his day went.
He shook his head, not recalling anything out of place, just then, he remembered something.
“All I could remember is bumping into a man, but there’s nothing usual about him. He even handed my phone back to me, cos it fell from my pocket and didn’t realize until I’ve gone for some while.” he shrugged.
“How could you be a doctor, with such a dumb brain?” Morgan spat, getting up from the chair.
Nicholas need not be told of what to do next, he took the mall’s address from the doctor and left with Morgan.
It was very late in the night, when a black SUV pulled up in front of the city mall. The lights were still on, but the mall was closed already.
Morgan was about to make a call, when he caught sight of a security man, roaming around the premises.
The security seemed to notice Morgan’s car and rushed towards him. “Sir, it’s midnight and the mall has closed, can you come back tomorrow?” He asked, not meeting Morgan’s gaze.
He could already guess that a man like Morgan was not to be trifled with, his cold aura and unassuming demeanor said it all.
“Call the owner already, or you open the store” Morgan’s commanding voice ordered.
The man flinched, his eyes settling on Nicholas as he stared apologetically at him. Nicholas gave him a go ahead look, telling him to do as he was told to do.
Morgan was getting impatient, his mind drifting back to Olivia’s state. He could remember putting a tracking device on her phone, yet it was almost twenty four hours, he still couldn’t track her through it.
“Take us to the camera room.” Nicholas said, after the man had opened the door to the store.
Nicholas was experienced with computers and all other stuff that has to do with it, so it didn’t take much time before he was able to find the footage of what happened earlier.
The doctor indeed bumped into someone, but why is fg person familiar? Nicholas paused the video and zoomed in on his face, as ordered by Morgan.
Lo! It was Franco, he took the phone from the doctor’s pocket immediately when he bumped into him. The doctor didn’t seem to notice, so he left with the phone.
It was after some minutes, that he went back to return the doctor’s phone.
Morgan nodded, a dangerous smirk, etched on his lips. He threw a bundle of cash to the security man and left with Nicholas.
Olivia was cuddled up on the bed, her eyes fixed on her phone as she kept calling Morgan’s line and it was saying the same thing all over again.
Since she was brought into the room, nobody had come into the room, apart from two young female servants, who brought a meal for her, which she rejected.
She was about to close her eyes, when she heard an electronic voice. She limped up, adjusting herself as her gaze roamed around the room.
“Welcome to my abode, my sweet Olivia angel.” He laughed sarcastically.
Olivia couldn’t tell where he was, but his voice sounded so close that she thought he was the same as her.
“Who are you!” She half yelled, making her voice as audible and bold , as it could sound.
“Don’t be such a curious cat, pumpkin.” He laughed again.
Olivia knew she was being watched, she could feel invisible eyes on her, although she can’t make out who they are.
“I might be curious, but what about you? Aren’t you scared? If not, what’s the need of hiding your face and even changing your voice to an electronic voice.” She sneered.
The voice laughed, seemingly amused. “Don’t worry about my face and voice, rather worry about yourself.”
“Why should I worry about myself?”
“You know, you can’t escape here on your own, you need external help, which could only come from one person. The question is, would he come for you? I mean your fake husband.”
Olivia paused, her brows knitted deeply as she read the meaning of his words. It was obvious that this person knew enough about her to even know what she has with Morgan is fake.
“What do you mean by saying my husband is fake?” She asked, hoping it wasn’t what she was thinking.
“Oh common pumpkin, don’t play dumb with me. We both know that’s true, your marriage is fake.”
Olivia fell silent, her heart beating rapidly. “Who exactly are you?” She suddenly asked.
The man fell into laughter, “My pumpkin Is so cute when she is curious. Like I said, don’t worry about me, worry about yourself.”
“Your fake husband is a selfish and ambitious capitalist, he wouldn’t do anything that won’t give him profit. Do you think he’d come to get you, when he wouldn’t be getting anything in return? Ha! I doubt it.”
“I suggest you stop speaking ill of my husband right In front of me, and wherever you got the idea that our marriage is fake, you got it all wrong.”
“My husband will come for me, he will.” Olivia added, more of convincing herself to believe that Morgan would come for her.
“I love your courage, hmmh it’s worth questioning. You know, I can kill you even before he arrives.”
It was now Olivia’s turn to laugh, she laughed and shook her head, ” I doubt you’d do that, since I’m not the main target, I’m just a bait.”
“Smart, hehe. You’re right somehow, but you’re also wrong.”
“If your fake husband shows up that’s too my plan, if he also doesn’t show up it’s also to my plan. I’d make you get me the evidence of your fake marriage, brutally or gently, that only depends on your behavior.” He laughed, this time ironically.
Olivia couldn’t help the chills that ran down her body. She could only hope that Morgan would come for her, although it was almost impossible for her to believe.
“Goodnight pumpkin.” The man said, before his voice fell silent.
Olivia couldn’t resist the urge to ro her eyes, each time he called her a pumpkin.
A black Bentley could be seen speeding along the road, before it finally pulled up in front of a large grocery store.
A man dressed in a black hoodie and black denim pants, with a black face cap on his head, his mouth hidden inside the black nose mask he wore.
With his face brought down, and hands into his pocket, he walked into the grocery store.
It was late in the night, but the store was open and people came by to buy something, though they were few.
The man was Swift and quick with every movement he made, he was quick to select all he wanted and added them into the cart.
After he paid for the items, he left with it and entered into his car.
At the end of the road a black Benz was packed by the side of the road, the person inside was all focused on the hooded man’s movement.
Once the hooded man drove off, he followed immediately, pulling up the mask that covered his face.
