“Are you just going to keep standing?” Morgan asked, filling his mouth with a full spoon of rice.
Olivia sat down, waiting for a handful of reprimands, but none came, as Morgan was invested in the meal before him.
She had prepared Adobo chicken, Lechon, tamarind broth and veggies. Her gaze scoured his face to see any visible change, of dissatisfaction or enjoyment.
But his face remained aloof, not giving out an expression that showed how he felt.
Soon, the food was finished. Morgan stood up, after wiping his mouth with the towel, he glanced at Olivia.
“Thanks for the meal.”
He said, moving away from the dinning. Olivia frowned because she didn’t get a comment, bad or good.
“Are you not going to say anything about the food? How was it?”
“You’re too much.” He chuckled
“Well, you still need to improve that skill of yours.”
With that said, he turned and left.
Olivia glanced at the empty plate, a slow smile escaping her lips. He finished the entire food, yet the only compliment he could make was to tell her to improve her skill.
Iceberg!
She cleared the table and went back into her room.
Gilbert’s mansion,
“Have you heard from Mr Marco? Cecilia asked, as her gaze fell on Xavier.
“Not yet. He isn’t taking my calls, I’ve been trying to reach him for the past few days.” Xavier sighed. His face was laced with worry.
“I just hope it’s not what I’m thinking. Mr Marco isn’t someone who won’t be taking his calls, he’s a big firm.” She whined.
“Mom, I don’t understand anymore. I guess I’d have to wait a little bit.”
“Did Dad tell you anything about Morgan being married?”
“No dear.”
“That asshole got married. Mom, he’s willing and ready to fight for the company, I’m still wondering…what could be his reason for wanting to get back the company.” Xavier sputtered, as he paced around the extravagantly decorated living room.
“He’s back already, with reason or no reason, all we have to do is make sure he doesn’t succeed with trying to take over. He can be your assistant, if he loves the company that much.” Cecilia added.
Xavier paused his tracks, his brows getting deep as he thought of something,
“Hold on mom…, Morgan can’t possibly fall in love with someone to talk of getting married. It could only mean one thing…”
“Arranged Marriage?”
“That’s it! Morgan faked a marriage to deceive father. Interesting.” Xavier smirked, pinching his brows.
“I’m sure Gilbert fell for it. We just need to gather evidence and prove to him that Morgan’s marriage isn’t real. That would at least reduce the chance of him taking over the company.” Cecilia suggested.
“What if I have my men kidnap her and make her admit to being a fake wife? I can use it as a payback for burning my car.”
“That would work too, but just go on with finding proofs. We can resort to kidnapping if there’s no proof.” Cecilia said, seeming not to agree to his plan of kidnap.
“Morgan, watch how I bring you down.” Xavier mumbled, a sly smile escaping his lips.
“I’d tell you a secret, come closer.” Cecilia said, motioning Xavier, as he came closer.
He reduced his height, bending to his mother’s level, he leaned into him, whispering something Into his ear.
“You’re the best mom! That’s definitely what I’d do!” Xavier smiled, pulling his mother into a hug.
“Oh stop it, you’re making me emotional.” She shrugged, waving her hand at him.
“Let’s forget Morgan for now and celebrate our yet to come victory.” Cecilia said, getting up from her chair to get wine.
“That’s true, but..” Xavier paused, knitting his brows.
“What if dad decides to give the company to Morgan, since he’s the first child?” He asked, his eyes glistening with worry.
“Xavi dear, you think too much. If he wanted to do that, he would’ve done it long ago. So do not worry dear, mom has always got your back.” She smiled, a reassuring yet calculated smile.
*****
“Mom take a look, does this person not look like Olivia?” Ava yelled, running all the way from her room to the living room, to show her mom something In her phone.
Before she could get to her mom, her screen turned blank.
“What the fuck! What’s happening” she whined, refreshing the page of the site, but it was still blank.
“What is that dear?” Hilda asked, glancing at Olivia with a worried look.
“Mom, I can’t believe this. This post was here, it has been here since morning, why disappearing all of a sudden? No way!” She deadpanned, her gaze focused on the phone as she scrolled up and down.
“I don’t really get what you’re trying to say.” Hilda complained.
“Mom, hold on. I’ll show you when I see it.”
Ava was scrolling through her phone, when she saw a post about the young master, with an unfaced girl.
“Hold on, isn’t this Olivia?” she mumbled, reading the post caption.
She hated Olivia so well, that everything about her was glued to her mind. Even if it was in the midst of the universe, she’d recognize Olivia.
And the girl in the picture was nobody but Olivia, but why was she with the young master? It was supposed to be an old man.
No, that possibly can’t be Olivia. It must be someone who looked so much like her.
Ava was still not convinced, she decided to go show her mom, just so she could be sure. But before he could get to her, her screen became blank, and every detail about the photo disappeared.
“No, no, no, not now…” she babbled, going through her phone, as her expression turned into anger.
She used the caption of the post to search for it on the internet but nothing came up. Everything disappeared without a trace.
How could that even be possible?
“What’s working you out?” Hilda asked, shooting her a concerned look.
After Ava had narrated everything to her mom, the woman deepened her brows, staring at her with shock.
“You mean, a post you just saw suddenly disappeared? That could only mean that the post has been taken down.”
“Yeah mom, but that’s only when the post is fake, or irrelevant. But the picture, it was real.” Ava whined.
“You’re too invested in the internet, but don’t know anything about it. Pictures can be photoshopped.” She laughed.
“So mom, you meant that picture could be photoshopped?”
“Yes dear, if not, how could Olivia be with someone like the young master. Don’t wish her such luck.”
Ava burst into laughter, “You’re right mom. She could Photoshop it, just to get attention. Unfortunately it had been taken down, and Mom you need to see the curses and insults that were rained on her.”
She was still laughing with her mom, when a message from an unknown number popped into her phone.
“Hey babe”
Who’s this?
