Chapter 22

Book:The CEO'S Delicate Wife Published:2024-8-24

Olivia was having breakfast with Morgan in the morning. As much as she didn’t want to see his face, she knew nothing could be done.
Morgan kept stealing glances at Olivia, while she was busy flipping the food over and over, bringing none to her mouth.
His eyes wandered to her wrist and paused on a red mark on her wrist, his heart tugged with pain. He quickly looked away and got up to leave.
Olivia raised her face to look at him, but he had already turned his back and left, she could only stare at his back.
She retracted her gaze and stared at the food for a while before getting up to leave the table. She had thought Morgan was different, he was nice to her even though it was only Contract. But looking back at what happened last night, she took back those words.
He was far from nice, he was just like everybody out there, selfish and greedy. And all she was going to do was stay in his silent mansion all day, and pretend to be his wife in public.
Nonsense!
Olivia was about to get into her room, when she was stopped by Nicholas’s approach.
“Ma’am,” he began.
“Young master requests you to check these out.” He started, giving her a small silver box.
Olivia’s eyes scanned the box, seemingly confused. “what’s inside?”
“You should find out for yourself.”
Olivia seemed to think for a while before taking the box, “Thank you.” She mouthed before heading back to her room.
She settled on the bed, and opened the box. There were arranged papers and a small liquid bottle, an ointment.
Olivia took the ointment, her eyes staring at the bottle, wondering why he sent her an ointment. Like it was going to suit her anger.
She tossed it by the side, and proceeded to go through the pages of the paper. The first thing that caught her attention was the name of the school, boldly written on the heading of the paper.
REDCREST HIGH COLLEGE
Was she seeing things?
Her interest was piqued as she ventured into reading what other information under it.
Olivia’s heart was racing, as she finished going through the page. She still couldn’t believe it.
She was actually going to get back into college, No, Morgan wanted her to get back into college.
Now she was torn between accepting it and rejecting it. If she were to accept it, it only meant she was bound to remain in the contract, and eventually birth a child.
But how can she decline the offer of returning back to school? Redcrest for that matter, her dream school.
After much hesitation, she decided to fill in her information in the papers. Even if she were to sleep with him, it won’t be soon, plus he could be a gay, trying to cover up his nature.
******
Morgan sat in his office, his eyes focused on his laptop as he watched Olivia fill in her information. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
He once mounted a camera in Olivia’s room but hadn’t thought of activating it in his laptop.
Last night, she got him angry and hurt her. He couldn’t shake off the sight of her red wrist and teary eyes, they were caused by him.
With no other option left, he activated it and watched her cry all night, until she slept off.
It took Morgan his self control not to go back into her room and scoop her into his arm. She was too small, too fragile and delicate that his heart tugged with pain.
Morgan had thought of everything that could make her happy, he couldn’t come with anything else apart from sending her back to school.
He knew terminating the contract would make her happy, but discarded the thought as soon as he thought of it. No way was he going to let her back out from a deal between them, especially when his father had seen her.
Morgan watched her complete the process of filling the information. When she was done, she arranged it back into the box including the ointment, without even applying it.
He was going to watch her do everything all day, but that thought was caught off with a knock on his door.
Morgan frowned, seemingly pissed. “What are you standing there for?” He barked at a staff member, who stood there even after knocking.
The young girl seemed to flinch, as she hurried into the office.
“Sir, these are the themes for the event.” She said, placing her laptop on Morgan’s desk.
Morgan frowned, “What nonsense is this? Is that his theme is made? You’re fired!” Morgan growled angrily.
Tears welled up in her eyes, as she carried her laptop and went out of the office.
Morgan picked his phone and made a quick call. He still couldn’t believe how Xavier employed incompetent people to do his work. The first time he assigned that girl a presentation, she screwed up and now this..
As if the employees were bent on exposing themselves today, another lady came with her work.
Just a glance at her Laptop, “You’re fired!”
“But sir…”
“Get lost!”
The girl flinched, and left with her laptop. At that point, no one was confident enough to approach his office, the staff were all whispering as they kept going through their work. Trying to give perfection, so as not to be fired.
Just then, Nicolas walked in with a purple envelop in his hand, on top of it was written, “You’re Cordially invited”
“Xavier is hosting a success party, and wants you to be there.” He stated, placing the envelope on Morgan’s desk.
His lips tugged with a smile, as Morgan laughed out loud.
“Xavier is just gullible, I wonder how my father gave over this company to him as an assistant, until I’m back.”
“Trash that invitation, I won’t attend the party. Let him believe in jealousy of him.” he smiled.
Later in the evening, Morgan was back from the office. Once again, he declined drinking with his friends.
Olivia was preparing for bed, when she heard the chunking sound of the key, shortly after, her door was opened and Morgan walked in.
She was still wrapped in a towel, when she realized, she quickly reached for her bare cleavage, covering it with her hands.
“You’re supposed to knock.” Olivia stated, glaring at him.
“I’m I supposed to knock? Last time I checked, I’m still your husband.”
Olivia choked, “You’re crazy!” She cursed, turning to reach for her cloth in the closet.
Morgan let out a low chuckle, “I know.”
Before Olivia could turn, Morgan was standing in front of her. Olivia swallowed quickly, looking away from him.
“What are you trying to do? I want to dress up.” Olivia whined, fumbling with the hem if the the towel.
“You can do that here.” He whispered audibly, his gaze deeply etched on her face.
Olivia’s cheeks were starting to heat up, as she couldn’t handle how close they were. His flawless face, close hers, while his hot breath fanned against her.
He was pure temptation.
“I can’t do that in front of you.” Olivia shook her head, her voice suddenly becoming low.
“Why is that?”
Olivia moved back, trying to create a gap between them, but the more retreated, the more Morgan came closer, until she was trapped. Trapped between the wall and him.
“Aren’t you going to answer me?” Morgan smirked, bringing his face closer.
At this point Olivia’s face was Stark red, her wet eyes shimmering with nervousness and something indescribable.
She was about to push Morgan off her, When he caught her hands, pulling him Into his chest.
“Let me go!”
