Liam Callahan sat with his back resting on his high-backed leather chair, reclining slightly as he closed his eyes, relaxing confidently with one leg balanced against the other and one foot moved forward, indicating stability and balance. He was deep in thought but still highly alert.
On his way to the meeting room, he began rethinking the commotion that had been on since his arrival. Then he concluded, he was the CEO of the Callahan enterprise, the man who brought the company to a stage where it now bashes in glory. He was calculative, only he had the right to discard pawns, not the other way around. How dare those wretched directors think of getting rid of him, the sole ruler of the Callahans. He needed to put them back in their right senses, they needed to know their place and respect that.
He decided at the last minute and had issued an order to his secretary, Sarah to draft an agreement that would clip their wings and help boost his power. Killing two birds with one stone.
He abruptly opened his eyes, his gaze piercing deeply at the greedy directors who broke down in cold sweat, fear written on their faces as they realized the gravity of their actions. The clause stated in the agreement that was drafted was… Ridiculous.
“Unless you have any accusations against me, that is, with proof, you are all going to sign those papers” Liam declared with a tone that held power and authority. A depreciating smile appeared on his lips as he recalled what he had proposed in the papers. Anyone who could provide any piece of evidence pointing at him, then he would step down for a new CEO and they couldn’t they would have to sign off five percent of their company shares to him.
One of the directors who seemed like the oldest in the room finally found the courage to speak. “This is ridiculous. We here, have ten percent of shares in the company and you want us to sign half of it to you. I mean, everyone”
“Yes,” Liam replied, standing solidly on his decision. “If you hadn’t thought of replacing it with no solid evidence, we wouldn’t be having this meeting right now”
“But…”
“Sign those papers or you leave my company with all ten percent shares transferred to me” Liam interrupted the old director causing the lot of them to gasp in shock. They couldn’t refute him or the consequences would be dire. It was also stated that any one of them who disagreed with the contract would be charged to court for defamation. Going to prison and coming out with no job, no company who wants to employ a worker with a criminal records, especially not for the Callahan enterprise. They needed to improvise.
“Um… Mr. Callahan, what about Mr. Max?” Another director queried. “Is he going to be exempted because of his relation to the Callahan family?”
“Hmph…..”Liam scoffed as he threw a glance at the empty seat next to him. His instincts told him that Max was somehow involved in this and his instincts were never wrong. ” Whether a family relation or not, a director still remains a director. Therefore, he is not exempted from the penalty”
The board of directors sighed in relief. At least, their leader was going to go through the same torture. With their shoulders slumping in defeat, they hesitantly signed the papers and handed them over to Sarah who gladly received them with a professional smile. Her boss was one hell of a tyrant.
“That’s all for today, thanks for your cooperation,” Liam said dismissively with a tone of satisfaction as he strolled majestically out of the room with Sarah right on his trail.
“Sir, that was satisfyingly unbelievable” Sarah commented as she stared at her boss with a look of admiration.
“Of course, Sarah”Liam remarked with a smirk on his lips. ” They wouldn’t dare to go against me next time”
“Um.. sir, Adrian is waiting in your office” Sarah revealed.
“I’ll go see him now”Liam acknowledged as they both walked towards the direction of his office.

Damien’s office is located right at the top floor of the Russo’s enterprise. Gina walked into to see Damien staring blankly at the window.
“Damien…”
“Where did you go?” Damien turned to ask as he eyed her suspiciously. “You just disappeared”
“Oh! I went to see your secretary” she revealed with a slight chuckle.” She was welcoming”
“Hmph….” Damien snorted at the sarcasm in her tone.” you didn’t have to, she doesn’t like you anyway”
“I know..”Gina answers looking unaffected by his words. She didn’t care as long as she got Rachael out of her way for good.” But I’m surprised, you left her standing on her sprained ankle?”
“I already settled her medical bills and the doctor said it wasn’t that terrible” Damien refuted the blame in a defensive tone.
“You don’t have to be so worked up,”Gina said as her lips curved into a smile. “Well, now she knows where she belongs?”
“Whatever…..” Damien averted his gaze.
“I have a new intel for you”Gina disclosed as a dangerous glint flashed through her eyes.
“What intel? Spill it”Damien curiously asked as he gazed expectantly at her.
“Well, I heard Max, Liam’s cousin, sparked up a strife in opposition to Liam’s authority” Gina revealed. “I heard it was quite intense”
“Are you sure?” Damien asked sounding skeptical. “How’s that possible?”
“Well it happened, you doubting Thomas” Gina replied in a hurtful tone. “It’s been settled but from the intel, I can tell Liam has pushed his directors to an edge. That’s an opportunity for us to strike again”
Damien’s eyes lit up in excitement. “That’s good news. You’re right, another opportunity has present itself, but we have to tread cautiously. It might be a trap”
“Hmm…. That’s making sense” Gina agreed thoughtfully.” maybe I should pay a surprise visit to them and see if I can fish something out” she suggested.
“A great idea, I must say but be careful, Liam must not sense a tiny bit of flare in you, “Damien said with a warning gaze but leaped in his heart for joy at the new suggestion. Their mole had been discarded, so they were in desperate need of insider information. A good opportunity indeed.
